Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 528: Three Shots_2

"That kid is doomed." The bald man rubbed his belly, a ruthless expression on his face.

"Be careful, that kid isn't easy to deal with."

"We were just careless last time. This time we have guns. In the rainforest, he's definitely not a match for us.

As long as we don't show ourselves, even if he sees God, he won't know how he died."

"Great, make sure to notify me once it's done."

"Understood."

The bald man lying on the ground raised his head and looked up at the tree, "Hey, Cam, the kid has landed on the island, he's all alone.

Will you stay here or go to the other trap?"

Cam said, "I'm not going anywhere, I want to watch him fall into the trap we set for him."

"You lazy bum, you stay here, I'll go to the other side." With that, the bald man got up, dressed in camouflage that matched the surroundings, walked nearly a hundred meters away, and lay down in a dense patch of grass.

Lying motionless on the ground, he was patient; strangely, no mosquitoes bit him.

After about ten minutes, Cam's voice came over the walkie-talkie, "I see him."

The bald man cursed softly, "Idiot, don't use the walkie-talkie, I can hear the crawler's noise. Be careful."

"You too, bastard, don't get beaten up by him again."

The bald man snorted, "In the rainforest, I'm the hunter."

A hundred meters away, Cam hid on the lush treetop, where he could vaguely see Luke and the crawler through the gaps in the leaves.

For some reason, he felt a bit nervous yet excited.

'It's here, almost there.' Cam muttered silently to himself.

Then, to his disappointment, Luke luckily bypassed the mechanism and didn't step into the trap he had set. Cam felt disappointed and picked up the walkie-talkie to remind his bald companion but remembered his earlier instructions and put the walkie-talkie down.

Not far away in the grass, the bald man heard the crawler gradually approaching and knew the first trap hadn't worked. But it didn't matter; there was another trap waiting for Luke, a trap he had personally set, and he was confident.

The surroundings were quiet, only the sound of the crawler.

Suddenly, a shout rang out, "Fuck! My leg."

"Swoosh!" The bald man excitedly stood up from the grass, ran to the trap he had set, and took out a pistol from his pocket, loading it; this time, he wouldn't make the same mistake.

The bald man quickly ran to the vicinity of the trap, raising his pistol to check, the crawler was right next to the trap, the giant beast trap had already been triggered, but Luke, who should be there, was nowhere in sight.

This beast trap was cleverly set, right on the path Luke had cleared, with a tree on the left and a rock on the right, just wide enough for the crawler to pass. The trap was set here for two reasons.

The first reason is that this is the only way, and Luke definitely has to come here.

The second reason is that for the crawler to pass through here, because of the limitations of the trees and rocks on either side, it has a fixed passage position, and if it deviates, it won't be able to pass.

The bald man placed the trigger of the beast trap between the two crawler wheels, so the crawler wouldn't trigger the trap.

However, despite his clever setup, the beast trap had activated, yet Luke was nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, a chill rose on his back, and he faintly heard footsteps behind him, quickly turning to check.

It was Luke.

He saw the other holding a gun in both hands, walking out from behind him. The bald man hurriedly raised his pistol.

"Bang! Bang!"

Before he could lift his gun, two bullets came flying, hitting his head. He didn't even have time to cry for help before he fell straight to the ground.

On the other side, Cam heard unusual noises, climbed down from the tree, and went to check the situation.

He saw the place where the beast trap had been triggered was empty, while the bald man lay not far away, his head with two large holes.

A fear of death surged through him; at that moment, he no longer wanted to kill Luke, just to escape.

"Bang!" Another gunshot sounded, and his right wrist felt intense pain, the pistol falling to the ground,

"Ah..."

Luke, holding a gun in both hands, walked out from behind a big tree, "Don't move, or the next bullet will hit your head."

"I beg you, don't kill me.

I dropped the pistol, I'm no threat to you now."

"Hands on your head, kneel on the ground."

"My arm is hurt and it's bleeding."

Luke walked over, kicked him from behind, cuffed him with plastic handcuffs, and asked, "Was it you and that bald guy sneaking onto the yacht that night?"

"Yes.

We just wanted to steal, we didn't intend to harm anyone, and we didn't carry weapons."

"Why are you on this island?"

Cam looked hesitant, "It's just a coincidence."

Luke put away his gun, took out the shotgun from behind, held it against his head, "I didn't use the shotgun earlier because I wanted to keep you alive, but now it seems there's no need.

I really want to see what it's like to blow a head off with a shotgun; I'm sure it'll be thrilling."

"I beg you, don't kill me."

"Click!"

"Last chance. Why are you here?" Luke's finger was on the trigger, showing no mercy. If not for his keen Observation, his leg might have been caught in the beast trap.

"Elsa Marin, she told us the location."
