Since they didn't have a problem taking care of the baby Metal Lizards, there was no reason for me to stay here any longer.
After all, I had just come to check on the baby Metal Lizards and the mining operation.
Since both of them were proceeding smoothly, there really was no need for me to stay here any longer.
After leaving the mines, I found that there were a bunch of animals that were waiting for me.
I hadn't come here with them, but they had followed me and had been waiting for me the entire time.
I couldn't help shaking my head with a wry smile seeing this, but I still went over to where they were waiting for me.
Once I came over, there was a fight between these animals.
All of them were fighting over who would be the one that would carry me back to the town.
Though I called it fighting, it wasn't as if they were actually fighting with each other.
If they had done that, I would have stopped them immediately.
Instead, it was as if they were arguing with each other as they kept making the sounds unique to their race. I didn't really understand what they were saying, but I could tell from their gestures that they were comparing something.
It seemed that they were comparing something that was related to their bodies with the way that they moved.
It seemed like they were trying to say…
"I'm clearly the perfect size to carry him."
"No, it's better if you're a bit bigger so you can provide a comfortable ride."
"You're both wrong. It's best to be much bigger to give him a wide open space to sit on."
They seemed to be fighting over who would be the one that would get to carry me back to the town.
When it seemed like they wouldn't be finishing their argument any time soon, I walked over to the lion and sat down on it before saying, "I'm counting on you."
The lion seemed to beam with pride when it heard this before looking at the other animals as if it was gloating towards them.
The other animals all glared at the lion before looking at me as if they were sad that I didn't choose them.
However, it was a fact that the lion really was the best seat for me.
The white wolf was too small for a big person like me to sit on comfortably and the bear was just too big. As for the others, there were a variety of other problems with them that would have made it hard for me to sit on them.
So in the end, the best seat really was the lion.
Though it seemed like the rest of them were heartbroken because of this.
All of these animals that were around me were the leaders of the packs that I had subdued with the dragon pressure that I possessed. This happened when I had gone around subduing those resource points for the town.
But slowly, it seemed that I had gathered quite a few animal companions along the way.
It was almost as if I had taken the path of a beast tamer…
As this thought passed through my mind, I suddenly saw a notification from the system that said that I had received the Beast Tamer title, along with a beast tamer skill.
With how sudden this appeared, it really felt like the system was messing with me…
Still, it wasn't as if this was a bad thing.
Each of these pack leaders had a full pack behind them that would contribute to the power of the town.
When we arrived back at the town, I couldn't help shaking my head with another wry smile when I saw all of the beasts that were walking around.
Using a rough count, I could see that there were more animals than there were people in this town. It seemed like we had slowly turned this place to a town filled with animals instead.
But it wasn't as if the animals were dangerous or fierce.
Instead, it seemed like everyone had pets with the way that they all interacted with the animals. Though in some cases, there were some animals that really didn't seem like pets at all…
Still, it wasn't as if this was a bad thing.
As long as I controlled the leaders of the packs, it wasn't as if the animals would do anything to the humans. At the same time, it seemed that many of the animals that came to this town formed special bonds with humans.
So it seemed like they would take care of each other in the future.
With all of these animals, the power that the town wielded no doubt increased.
It was just like with the Metal Lizards at the mine, these animals would be able to help defend the town if it came to it. So it certainly wasn't a bad thing that there were all of these animals here.
As for their food, they provided a lot for themselves on the hunts that they went on and there were different sources of food that I had collected. It wasn't just those plants that were like potatoes that the wolves guarded that were a source of food, there were others as well.
So even with all of these animals moving in, it was easy for us to feed them all.
At the same time, these animals paid us back by helping us guard the resources that we subdued.
It really seemed like there were no downsides to bringing in all of these tamed animals.
"It's just that this seems like the kind of power that a fairy tale princess should have…"
That was the one gripe that I had about this.
After all, it was only usually those fairy tale princesses that sung to animals that would be able to control them like this. It really didn't seem to suit a rough barbarian like me…
