Jared walked out of his house, Paimon trailing right behind him.
People were moving all around the place, carrying bags, some wood, and a couple of people were pushing building parts down the road.
It wasn't a new thing for Jared to wake up and see people in the village active.
But it was sure as hell not normal seeing different species in his village, all working and living in harmony.
'Is it just me, or are there even more buildings in the village?'
He looked for a while; he was right. The buildings seemed to have increased in number.
Jared did tell them to keep making more buildings, but there was no way they could have made them this fast.
And even more shocking, all the lizardmen that once had scales covering their bodies looked similar to humans now.
Hell, the only way he could tell they were lizardmen was because he could see their tails.
'Nah, something isn't right here. This change is way too fast.'
He looked at Paimon.
"How long was I asleep for?"
To which Paimon replied with a tilt of her head.
"Almost a week, Master. We didn't want to wake you up since you were so exhausted."
Jared didn't make a fuss.
He just looked away, one hand covering his face as he shook his head.
'Of course I slept for a week.'
"Ah! Good morning, Lord Jared!"
Someone from the crowd who spotted him shouted with excitement.
Just as quickly, many others turned their attention to him, bright smiles glued to their faces.
"Good morning, Lord Jared!"
"Good morning!"
"... Lord Jared..."
Jared couldn't help but put on a nervous expression.
At some point, he knew this would happen, and he loved it. But at the same time, it definitely reminded him of his fame back in his former world.
Slowly, he walked down the road and greeted every single person he saw.
It was weird; in that moment, Jared felt that if he were to slap anyone waving at him right then and there, they would probably still keep smiling.
You could say his intrusive thoughts were getting the better of him.
Finally getting to the other side of the village, he saw Lucy helping an old woman take her clothes inside her home. Or perhaps she was done already. Seeing as she bowed her head to walk away, it was probably the latter.
As soon as she turned away, she faced Jared, who was already walking toward her.
"Lord Jared... you're awake!"
Lucy did a little sprint toward him.
"... Yeah."
Jared watched as she got close to him, her eyes scanning his body from head to toe.
"What are you doing?"
"While you were asleep, there was a rat always sleeping in the bed with you. Of course, I always tried to get rid of it, but it's way too stubborn. Nothing much to expect from a pest. So I'm just checking to make sure there's no sign of it anywhere on you."
Before Jared could reply—
"You must really have a death wish, maid human..." Paimon uttered behind him, her energy flowing out of her body.
"Looks like the pest is still following you, my lord." Lucy grabbed Jared by the arm. "Please, allow me."
She pulled him away.
Not even a second later, Paimon grabbed Jared's other arm and tugged him closer.
"The hell do you think you're doing grabbing my master like that?!"
"I didn't know pests could talk."
"Stop calling me a pest. I could straight up kill you right now." Paimon was annoyed; that much was obvious.
"I know pests are aggressive, but I didn't know they could run their mouths too."
As she said this, Lucy pulled Jared closer to her side, burying his arm in her large bosom.
Jared wore a robotic look, unsure of what to say to both of them.
The fact that they kept rubbing their chests on his arms was not helping in any case.
"Uhnn? The great blue dragon doesn't run her mouth, you damn human! You should be thanking the gods you are Master's slave, or I would have killed you already." Paimon tugged Jared again.
"So go make out with another dragon; my lord is not attracted to animals."
Paimon's face turned red.
"That's it..."
She clenched her fist, gathering chaos energy around it as she got ready to punch Lucy.
Lucy also seemed as though she was prepared for it. She didn't flinch, not even a blink.
Before matters could escalate, Jared stepped in.
He smacked Paimon on the head and finger-flicked Lucy right after.
This made them both take a step back, using their hands to cover where they had been hit. Though they didn't say a word, you could still hear them moaning and groaning.
'I don't understand women enough to ask why they are hostile toward each other. If there's anything I've learned in my former world, it is to never get involved when women fight.'
Thus, he changed the topic.
"And where is Kiara?"
"Kiara? She hasn't been back in the village for three days now," Lucy replied. "She said something about wanting to help you strengthen your military before you woke up from your deep sleep. Since then, she hasn't left the training ground."
'We have a training ground?'
Paimon then jumped in.
"True. I remember some of my men saying they don't want to help out with domestic chores and wanted to be part of the elite training under the Ice Commander or so."
'Ice Commander?'
Surely this wasn't Kiara, right?
"... Take me to the training ground."
"Of course!"
Lucy and Paimon uttered in unison, once again grabbing Jared by the arm from both sides before staring each other down.
'Women...'
....

Oh and I noticed I never dropped Paimon's character design, that is mostly because I haven't been able to find any to fit her description, once I do, I'll drop it below and on discord.]
