Supreme Game: Antimagic Apocalypse

Chapter 62: A Sudden Change

He hurriedly got out of the house after sending Oscar into his pet space.

Because the situation had taken a really dangerous turn.

The sky darkened with thick cloud, ominous thunder rumbled accross the Sky above.

"Rumble, Rumble!"

There was pure chaos outside.

Everywhere his gaze landed, there was just destruction. Houses and buildings were reduced to rubble under the crackling thunder in the sky.

The howling wind and relentless lightning had sparked raging fires that consumed everything in their path.

Where did this thundering sky come from?

Just then, his gaze locked onto shadowy figures darting across the village—hunting down villagers.

"Ahhh! Save me!"

"Sir Mage, you have arrived! Please save—"

A villager was turned to a charred corpse right before Raizel's eyes as a bolt of lightning struck from behind.

Raizel was speechless and surprised. But there was something else bubbling inside—anger.

Something—or someone—was attacking the village.

And they wielded terrifying power.

He clenched his fist and quickly summoned his Divergence Sword.

Because he had spotted the root of the problem.

There stood a shadowy wolf—not a regular one. It was massive, almost as big as the Red Giants he had faced in the Trial.

It was a Lightning Wolf in shadow form, blending seamlessly with the darkness.

"Crackle, Crackle!"

The wolf's figure suddenly crackled with electricity as it launched a Lightning Bolt at Raizel.

The attack was terrifying.

If it hit him, he would surely be reduced to a charred corpse, if not killed outright.

But just as the lightning bolt was about to reach Raizel, he simply raised his Antimagic Sword to block it.

The moment the bolt struck the blade, it was deflected at nearly the same speed and intensity.

The lightning bolt shot back at the Shadow Lightning Wolf, sending arcs of electricity coursing through its entire body.

However, the damage was far less than Raizel had expected. The beast merely paused for a second, using its own lightning to neutralize the shock.

And in that single second, Raizel didn't stand idle. With a powerful downward slash, he cleaved through the wolf's shadowy form in one swift, devastating arc.

The creature didn't move anymore.

It was dead.

"Phew..."

Raizel exhaled in relief, lowering the broadsword onto the soft ground.

This was no ordinary monster. Its body was composed of both shadow and lightning, eerily similar to the spirit owned by Philip.

A regular physical attack wouldn't have even scratched it.

But thanks to the Antimagic properties of his sword, Raizel had been able to slay it with ease.

Shadow or lightning... in the end, it was all magic.

Once the creature died, nothing remained of it.

Without wasting time, Raizel quickly moved toward the source of the lightning, determined to uncover the root of this sudden chaos.

He wasn't trying to be a hero. He just wanted to understand what had happened and what steps he should take next.

People were dying. The same villagers he had seen just yesterday, playing and laughing, were now being slaughtered without mercy.

But he saved whoever he could.

"Slash!"

With a swift dash, he severed another Shadow Wolf. The beast let out a final howl of pain before vanishing into nothingness.

The villager he had just saved was none other than Lam, the girl from the Goblin Den.

She lay trembling on the ground, her eyes shut tight and her hands covering her ears, as if waiting for an inevitable death. She was paralyzed by sheer terror, unable to process the nightmare unfolding around her.

"Run, you fool!"

A familiar voice rang out, snapping her back to reality.

She hesitantly opened her eyes, only to see the young mage standing before her, fighting off the monstrous creatures. No—he wasn't just fighting them. He was slaying them, cutting through the darkness like a blade of light.

"Sir Mage... You saved me again…" she murmured, tears welling up in her eyes.

But there was no time to waste. Without needing to be told twice, she scrambled to her feet and fled.

The village was no longer safe.

Even though it pained her to leave, she already knew—there was no choice.

Hell had descended upon Green Leaf Village.

As simple villagers, they had always known that a day like this could come.

But they never expected it to happen so suddenly. And so cruelly.

After finishing off the small pack of wolves, Raizel sprinted toward the center of the village, where the chaos was at its worst.

The first hints of dawn were appearing on the horizon, but the oppressive darkness lingering over the village refused to lift.

Along the way, he saved a few more villagers. Each one thanked him before fleeing in desperation.

As he cut down more Shadow Wolves, Raizel neared the Village Chief's house.

Slowly, cautiously, he crept closer, his broadsword resting on his shoulder.

And at last, he arrived at the source of the chaos.

Before him, the kind old Village Chief was locked in battle with a massive Shadow Wolf, wielding wind magic in a desperate struggle.

But his condition was dire—his body was ravaged, limbs missing, torso torn open. He was barely holding on.

Yet, what shocked Raizel the most wasn't the Village Chief's state.

It was the figure atop the monstrous Shadow Wolf.

"Philip?"

The boy sitting astride the beast was none other than Philip—the Beastmaster boy who had once helped them unlock the Companion function.

He had always seemed kind, a bit foolish even.

But now, the boy before him was entirely different.

A devilish smirk curled on his lips, and his spirit companion, Philo, no longer looked like the cheerful little creature Raizel had met before.

Its hair was now long and crackling with electricity, its very presence radiating malice.

Something had changed.

Something had gone horribly wrong.

Just then—

As Phillip was enjoying tormenting the old village Chief, suddenly his eyes landed on Raizel who revealed Himself willingly.

Instantly, a smirk played on Phillip's lips.
