I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!

Chapter 84: The water does what now?

The members of [The Twelve] looked at Papa, then to the glass of water he had drunk from.

Echidna was probably the first to react and turn her stare from one of confusion to one of desire. Elizabeth perceived the woman moving the shadows on the ground.

Elizabeth decided to be mischievous and prohibited the shadows near Papa to obey Echidna's orders, and the response was immediate as the black-haired woman turned a glare towards Elizabeth.

Elizabeth merely pretended to not notice the glare and turned to look at Papa, confused about what Echidna had seen there. As far as Elizabeth could see, the only special thing about that glass of water was that Papa had drunk from it... And that there was some residual mana from Papa on it...

Unless...

No...

Surely... surely it wouldn't... right?

The way for Magical Girls to have daughters was the fusion of mana to gestate a new life... but Papa... Papa was not a Magical Girl, he wasn't even a Mage!

"This... has my cells on it, my saliva to be precise." Papa started saying as he pointed at the glass of water, "Usually there are one or two subset skills working all the time to vaporize any cell that leaves my Mana field."

...Yes, Elizabeth did notice that while growing up, that neither Papa or Mother left hair or anything around the house, and she noticed because she needed to clean the shower drain that was filled with her own hair, and it became annoying very fast. To the point that Elizabeth had to bribe Mother to cast a spell to do that for her.

But... Why was that important? That the glass of water had Papa's cells?"

"In case any of you wonder why that is important." Papa continued speaking, smirking evilly at them, "My skill... My original skill at the barest form was [Adaptation]."

There was a round of gasps, people nodding, people covering their mouth, and a couple that raised their hand and said the safe word, even though they didn't have the bracelet anymore...

Elizabeth noticed that not all of them teleported away, was Aura being picky with who would be teleported again?

"Yes, shocker." Papa carried on, "Not like you all didn't know, you just thought it couldn't be that simple... The reason why I was wounded in the First World War by bullets, but by the Second I was not... Most thought that I had trained and become tougher. Some thought that my actual skill was something related to resiliency or regeneration..."

Papa laughed at that, "No, nothing so complicated. I merely adapted, adapted to physical damage, adapted to mana, to spells, to skills, to Power, might and even to curses at some point." He raised a hand and then with the other made a mana blade, then with a swift movement attempted to damage himself.

Nothing happened, the mana dissipated as soon as it touched his skin, even though it was his own mana.

"There are very few ways that could actually hurt me, and even those would need to get past many redundancies I have gotten thanks to years of assassination attempts, that is one of the reasons I became the Overlord of Zaanam." Papa said with a smirk, a few people actually covered their ears and closed their eyes, as if that would make them not hear or see anything here, "And why does this matter you may wonder."

"Yes," Elizabeth said raising her hand, "I do wonder why does it matter, not like they can do anything about it before, or now that you are a god of Zaanam."

"True Eli," Papa said nodding, "Not many people could actually be my rival, besides your Mother."

"That is only because you let me win hubby, it does not count." Mother said with a smirk, "The road to the mountain you stand is far, and I am barely midway there."

She was?

Elizabeth always thought they were fairly close in Power.

"And we are at the bottom of the hill, close to the water level." Jenna said with a self-deprecating laugh.

"No," Papa said shaking his head, "You are at the starting line, with Joseph and Eleanore."

[The Beast Master] merely grunted, while Eleanore blushed mildly.

"The rest are at the bottom of the ocean... A few do float near the coast though." Papa said turning his attention to the vestige that was [ShadowPact], and then turned his attention to [The Monk] and [The Traveler] of all people.

"But enough of that, the reason why this is important..." Papa said, raising the glass of water that he had drunk from, "My cells are imbued with my skills, these in case of wound would travel all the way back to me, or if I send an order, will do their best to fulfill it as best as they can."

That... sounded closer to what a hive mind would be, more of a hivemind than a living being if Elizabeth was to be honest, the mental image she got was of a small army of Papa looking mana beings.

Perhaps... Perhaps Elizabeth could do something similar? Her body... was not precisely one of flesh and blood, it was closer to a mana construct at the moment. It was moving closer and closer to one of energy than anything else if Elizabeth was to be honest, perhaps she could really do something like that?

"And Elizabeth Starbright is my daughter, both in flesh and blood. Both in mana and soul." Papa said, "As such, she has inherited from me some of my characteristics."

She had?

Elizabeth?

Really?

"To a minor degree of course, not to the same advanced stage as I did. It is part of the reason why she was able to be born even though she was gestated in such a mana-dense environment... And even then, since her innate skill was not mine, she had a hard time being born." Papa added at the end, "But she was born, and her body will try to adjust. Now that she has the mana to fuel it, she could probably gestate my [Unique Divine Skill] should she wish for it."

...

"I can?" Elizabeth said looking at her own Core, she hadn't seen any evidence of that, and she had scoured her Soul. But then again, it wouldn't be the first time she found something like that...

Not that she needed it, she had made it a Divine Law that they could get pregnant with each other so long as they had Love as a medium... Unless... The reason why her Minions could evolve into humans so easily...

Had something to do with Papa's Unique Skill?

"And then we return to this glass of water," Papa said placing the glass of water on the table and moving it in front of [The Warlock], "The order the cells in this glass of water got given was 'Propagate, gestate a new life.'"

[The Warlock] gulped, actually, many people did so. Some with eyes filled with greed and desire, others with murderous gazes that wanted to scare the competition.

"I am a man." [The Warlock] said, moving his chair back, "So while this does help in providing a new bloodline to Zaanam, it will not ensure that a daughter or son is born. We know how hard it was for you to get Catherine pregnant. This will be closer to a death from mana poisoning than anything else."

"You have nothing to worry about that." Mother was the one to speak this time, "We have learned many things after achieving apotheosis, among those are ways to temper mana."

"And there are two mistakes in your reasoning," Papa continued, "The first one is that you being a man does not affect anything. Whoever drinks this will get pregnant with my SEED."

[The Warlock] gulped once more and his face turned white, pale white.

"The cells will ensure the body can gestate life, will make the needed modification so the body can go through the pregnancy, and ensure the body is capable of nursing the life that is born." Papa didn't bat an eye at what he was saying.

He just stated that if he so much as wished, he could get ANY man pregnant.

Papa just made male pregnancy a thing. Elizabeth couldn't help but shudder at that, Papa did not pull any punches when it was about defending Elizabeth's honor, but Elizabeth would have wished if he just killed the people.

Mostly because now she had the first seat, seeing people turn from indifference to greed, and this was not only the woman, but some of the men also started eyeing the glass of water.

"Second, you don't need to drink it all, a gulp is enough. I guess from this glass of water you could get around twenty to thirty people?" Papa said eyeing the glass of water, "But that is besides the point, and before you all start drinking from it."

You all?

Papa did know his public, Elizabeth wasn't sure if there would be enough water for thirty people, though, if she were to guess, the first couple would drink it all...

"Question," Jenna said, walking forward, her gala dress making an appearance. At some point, she had changed into... well, quite a stunning dress; she had transitioned from a suit to a gala dress that showcased her feminine figure. "Will the being born from it be truly your son or daughter? Or will it be closer to a being born from the mana of the carrier?"

"Are you asking if the entity born will have my genes?" Papa asked smiling at the question, "Smart Jenna. But yes, it will actually be my descendant, and Elizabeth will be their older sister."

Oh... Elizabeth was getting many brothers and sisters....

"Will the bearer's mana level affect the pregnancy?" Jenna asked then next, "Gio is right, we all know how hard it was for you and Catherine to get a daughter."

"....That is another misunderstanding." Papa said, sighing, "What I wanted from Catherine was a daughter or son, one who I would pour all my love into, I wanted the very best that was possible. You all are mistaken on a point."

Mother nodded seriously.

"If we really wanted, we could get pregnant at any point. Sealing away Hubby's mana... Sealing away my own Mana..." Mother said snaping her fingers, and as if they had all been under a heavy blanket, the atmosphere felt... light, "We did seal some of my mana, and some of Hubby's Mana... we tested multiple levels of mana sealing till we get one that would ensure our daughter would have as much of our mana as possible, while allowing the fetus to grow... It... worked for the better part of it."

Yeah, Elizabeth was birthed... or gestated, they did end up needing the blonde asshole's help, but that perhaps was also Fate.

"Yes, what we wanted was for our daughter to have all the advantages that we could bring to her." Papa said nodding. "This..."

Papa pointed at the glass of water.

"Is not the same," And then moved the glass of water away from [The Warlock] who sighed in relief, and a few of the people around the tables stood as if to be ready to move, "What I want from this is merely for something to be born, so you all leave my Daughter alone."

The statement... it was.... contrary to what Papa usually was, cold.

"I do not think of whatever is born from this as my Family. But as a compromise with Zaanam." Papa then walked away from the table, towards the stairs where Elizabeth, Rossie and Rena stood, "This is so you leave them alone, but be not mistaken. While we are bound as Gods, Elizabeth does not need our help, she is powerful enough to be free, not a single one of you could stop her at this moment."

"Truly?" [The Elementalist] said still seated, "But, what use is for us a spawn from you who shares not your power?"

"When did I say that?" Papa said smirking, "Your play with words is meaningless, the cells will use every scrap of power they can to gestate life, how powerful or how talented that life is will depend on the host."

"That is to say..." Mother snapped her fingers and their presence once more filled the room, "If a normal human took it, the kid born from it would be handsome, but not very powerful, it would have as much talent as hubby had before he awakened his skill, but that's it."

"And if a C-Tier entity took a sip, the kid would have at least D or E-Tier prowess from birth." Papa added, "How much of my Power they get to keep will be determined by how much mana the cells have to work... If you truly want something closer to what I had before [Advent]... Yes..."

Papa said as he eyed the people around, "Perhaps if Joseph takes a sip..." And said those words, the people who had inched forward the table stopped frozen as they all turned to stare at [The Beast Master].

"Not interested," [The Beast Master] said in an even voice, "But let me ask this just in case."

[The Elementalist] was quite surprised for some reason, was he not used to his bodyguard speaking?

"You said the cells would ensure the body could nurture the kid," [The Beast Master] stated, at no moment did he turn to look at the glass of water, his eyes never left Papa, "Does that mean that the sex organs would change to a female one? As a birth canal would be needed. Would the man in question develop breasts? As they would need to breastfeed the kid? Would the man in question... Become a female?"

For some WEIRD reason, a couple of the men who had been inching forward stopped. And a couple of the ones that were sitting stood, was the high society of Zaanam filled with people that suffered from dysphoria or something?

Or was this also Fate playing with Elizabeth?

Was this funny? Was a pink-haired woman wearing funeral clothes laughing at the back or something?

"... Yes," Papa said after thinking for a few seconds, "It was not my intention, but I assume that would be the case, I guess you could get a C-section around the eight to nine months to prevent your dick from being changed...?"

Papa then turned to Mother as if to ask something, but the woman merely answered, "Don't look at me, that is something that your skill does, I still don't get half the things that go into your body, and I have been licking it for almost two centuries." Before he could say anything.

"... Mother... Don't you mean studying it?" Elizabeth asked mildly horrified.

"I said what I said." Mother merely said that with a proud nod.

"...Well, I could... ask the cells to develop an alternative delivery system..." Papa said as he started to move down the stairs.

"No!" "NO!" "NEVER!" "KILL ME INSTEAD!"

But there was a cacophony of shouts that made him stop.

Half of them from women even.

"This is filled with weirdos," Elizabeth said sighing, "Why is my wedding filled with weirdos?"

"You should have seen mine," Mother said taking a step towards Elizabeth and hugging her, "At least no one has blown anything. In ours, we had a bomb dropped in the cake, an assassination attempt from Lena, and another one from Lucy-lu!"

....

"They attempted to kill them? Or they attempted to kill someone?" Elizabeth asked, if Echidna was one of the ones in the names, as she suspected from the tone, then the chances that they had attempted to kill Mother and Papa respectively was great.

"Yes!" Mother, however, merely answered as such.

Elizabeth couldn't wait for this to be over.
