What followed was a weird thing, but a quick thing.
"So, those of you who worry about not having talented new blood in the new generation, do take a sip. And only a sip." Papa said walking back to the stairs, "That will be all we will be accepting as complaints about this wedding, under my name as [Framework, the God of Family] I have spoken."
The words resounded all around, and Elizabeth felt the prana be pulled from everyone around, first it seemed as if it would go towards Papa, but a second later Papa merely willed it to go down into the ground.
There, Elizabeth noticed it spread around and then go farther and farther away from them; it probably would envelop the world in a few seconds.
It was Papa's prana manipulation after all.
"And with that done, the glass of water will be up for the drinks in my temple. It will be there for 2 hours counting forward when the wedding reception is done." Papa stated, didn't ask or suggest, he said what would happen, and the people would nod and do it like that.
"Shall I carry it?" Jenna said, stepping forward and lifting the glass of water, "As no one seems to want to go ahead and drink from it."
"Thank you for your hard work as always, Jenna." Papa said as Jenna took the glass of water, ignoring everyone else and merely covering the top of the glass of water with her free hand, as if to prevent any dirt or dust from falling into the glass of water.
"Okay!" Mother suddenly screamed from the back, "Since that is done, let's move on! This is a party after all!"
And snapping her fingers the reception hall turned into a dance hall, the tables were moved to the far back of the hall and left a wide dancing hall.
"Move on Eli-Eli, I am looking forward to how you are planning to dance with two partners at the same time!" And giggled that as Elizabeth became the center of attention once again, not that it was an issue. She was used to this from her time in high school.
"If you would Rossie? Rena?" Elizabeth said as she took each girl with a hand, Rossie with the right and Rena with the left, she pulled at each of them and as they walked down the stairs Elizabeth's body split in two.
The right side was wearing a black dress and the left side the normal white dress.
"I am sorry about this," the Black Elizabeth said turning to Rena.
"I promise that I am fully in control of both bodies, this isn't like one of my doppelgangers, but more of an..." The White Elizabeth said stopping to think for a second.
""I am using the mental capacity I was previously using to manage some things that ran on the back, instead now I have two bodies and am parsing through the sensorial, emotional, and organic data that both bodies are feeling."" Both Elizabeths spoke in synch.
"...Well that is cheating." Mother said sulking from the back.
"You never were good with those kinds of spells." Papa said from the side, "Care for a dance beautiful?"
"...Only if you change into a more comfortable setting," Mother said taking the hand from Papa, "And also you aren't good with them either."
"In my case it's more like there can only be one Me at any time, so it is just not possible." Papa said as his body started shrinking slowly into the form that Elizabeth was used to seeing of him while he worked on his public persona, or when he was about to leave the house for stuff that wasn't related to [The American Crusader].
"...What is that look, his real form?" Someone mumbled at the back.
"I have never seen him, he looks handsome, how come he isn't famous with that form?" Another one spoke afterwards.
But both Papa and Mother ignored them and they merely walked down the stairs with Elizabeth, Rossie, Rena and Elizabeth.
"Go on," Mother said, "We can't dance till you start dancing, showoff."
The last part was accompanied by a childish tongue stuck out. Never change Mother.
"Music," The Black Elizabeth said as she took Rossie's hand and pulled her into a very close dancing form where they were hugging quite close to each other, close enough that Black Elizabeth could nibble at the pink-haired ear if she wanted.
"Start," The White Elizabeth said as she hugged with more care and slow form Rena, their body still stuck together, but it wasn't as intimate as with Rossie, because Elizabeth knew.
Rossie wanted the world to see them very close, while Rena wanted that to be only for their more intimate times, it was the contrast between the two girls.
One didn't mind overly showy displays of love, while the other wanted their public persona to go with more innocent representations of love. And Elizabeth loved both for each.
The music quickly started sounding, an orchestra cleverly hidden so that their music could be heard in the dancing hall, and also a projection at the far end where it would show the dancing people an image of them playing said music.
The private VIP rooms also had their own little dancing hall of course, and if they wanted they could even extend it so it would look as if they were dancing on the ceiling (Since they actually where, thanks to Aura's space shenanigans).
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Mother and Father, however, merely danced to their own tempo.
The people seemed to somehow never get too close to Elizabeth and company in the center of the dancing area, it was as if a circle was made for them.
The only ones inside that private circle were Mother and Papa, who happily danced as if they were the newly weed. Mother even had a dress similar to the Elizabeths, even if hers was with pastel green colors instead of white and black.
At the back, the other people danced, some looking at Papa, others at Mother, and most looking towards both Elizabeths.
Elizabeth did notice that they were checking both her bodies for the mana signature, and a few paled when the readings came out, as even like this. Elizabeth still measured as an S-Tier.
The trick to it? It was quite easy to achieve.
Those spells, those skills? Those artifacts? They had been measured to mark the [Nine Stars] as S-Tier. So they used them as a metric.
It couldn't be helped, they couldn't set it up to monsters like Jenna, [The Beast Master], Papa or Mother. Or no one else would mark it as S-Tier.
Not that it would be wrong, not many of them were actual S-Tier. It was just that they were so much better than the rest, Elizabeth didn't doubt that they would achieve it though.
[The Beast Master] would probably be able to breach that wall within his lifespan... earlier if he ditched his work as a [BodyGuard], that was probably crippling his job advancements and skills. Not that he was affected.
"Say Papa... Why is [The Beast Master] someone you respect? He is weak right?" One of the Elizabeths asked when they moved near Mother and Papa, the other Elizabeth noted that [The Beast Master] seemed to pay attention to them.
How was he even hearing them from that far away? The man hadn't even moved towards the dancing area, since his owner didn't move towards that either.
"He is weak," Papa said nodding, "He is stronger than most, but even so. He is weak, and yet... He is dangerous."
"He is cheating," Mother said, barging into the conversation, "His skill cheats, he can internalize the stats, skills, and attributes of the things he defeats. He started kind of cute, a kid who could fuse with his dog and be stronger, not good, but better than those around."
Right...
"So?" The other Elizabeth said as the previous one moved away, thanks to the dancing, and so she moved to that spot, "Not like a few points will make that much of a difference, what kind of skills would taking a dog even give?"
"Right, if it was only dogs." Papa said nodding, "He does have dogs... The original Cerberus of Echidna is one of his pets. Have you seen the Nightmare monster in the form of a three-headed dog?"
"Oh yeah.... that was kind of cute," Elizabeth said nodding, she had seen those. "Wait, what skills does that give him?"
"It doesn't matter does it?" Mother said shaking her head, "That is around 200 or 300 points in raw stats that he can put as he wishes."
....Elizabeth turned a quick look into the status screen of [The Beast Master], he had roughly... 1,288 stat points... and from what she had seen...
"He only needs 140 or so status points for his mana to jump into S-Tier..." Elizabeth said as she nodded, "Yeah that makes sense."
"And that is before we get into the actual issue." Papa said, smirking, it was a smile filled with madness for a good fight, "I helped him get Kaijus, actual interdimensional monsters capable of wounding me... for a time."
"....Papa?" Elizabeth said (The black one had returned at this point, and the white one didn't move away as the music moved to a slow waltz) "...Isn't that... dangerous?"
"Not really, it is the reason why I allowed that dimensional rift near Izanami to remain instead of going every month or so to break it again." Papa said shaking his head, "With each Kaijuu he takes into his service he can get more and more stat points, skills, resistances, abilities... I even went out of my way to get him a [God of Magic] from a side dimension, and told him that it was a weird humanoid monster."
"It wasn't one?" Elizabeth asked, making sure at least one of her bodies kept its eyes on [The Beast Master].
"It is, now anyway. I hit his head till it turned into a monkey, then continued doing it till it no longer spoke in any language known to man. And a couple extra times every time it did something intelligent." Papa said shrugging, "It is now a very powerful magic monkey, but there is no intelligence behind, I made sure of it."
Elizabeth could see [The Beast Master] curse under his breath the words 'I knew it', followed by a weird glance towards a ring on his little finger.
"Not that he can do anything, if he releases a feral monkey with the magic power capable of leveling half the world... Well, many people will suffer, but if he puts it down..." Papa said laughing, aloud. More people walked farther from them, "My plan was having Catherine train him so he could learn spells, and fighting him in around fity or sixty years, and if he refused... well, I can always level Izanami and raise it as a new country, this wouldn't be the first time."
Yeah... Elizabeth could see that outcome, Papa was a good father, a good husband, and a caring man towards his family.
Towards his family. Was the keyword here.
Towards everyone else? Well, from what Elizabeth knew after reading the books, both the ones altered from [Advent] and those that weren't (She didn't read them, but had a Minion do it for her and give her a resume of it).
Papa was closer to an overlord ruling a planet than a guardian of humanity.
"Disappointed?" Papa asked as he stopped dancing, and turned towards both Elizabeths, "Now that you find I care so little about those I swore to protect."
Papa's atmosphere changed, his eyes started burning with azure blue light, and Elizabeth felt as if his full presence came bearing down on her.
...Was she?
"Not really." The black Elizabeth answered, her own eyes turning dragon-like, and they also burned with an azure color; only hers, instead of light, it was fire. "I too, care little for Zaanam and their inhabitants."
There was a round of gulps around the room, as probably more than one politician had to come to terms with the fact that Elizabeth was more powerful than they had thought. And she cared not for their petty squabbles.
"My original plan was to bash [The Prophet]'s head into the ground till it cracked," The Black Elizabeth said with a shrug as she pointed at the woman in question.
"As for everyone else..." The black Elizabeth said as her own eyes started to shine in red fire, a crown made out of horns forming atop her head as black leathery wings sprout from her back, "They would get to see first row how I trashed their [Defensor], both good and bad. Evil and lawful..."
Elizabeth's invite list did not distinguish between hero and villain after all.
"And that would be broadcast to the whole world to see.... As a warning, do not bother me." Both Elizabeth said at once, "Not that I will need to do that anymore."
And as if nothing had happened, both Elizabeths returned to normal.
"Unless any of you here want to fight? Right now I am dividing both my mana and mind in two different bodies, and they do share a link..." The Black Elizabeth said as she cut open a wound on her arm with a swift movement of her hand as the cut was made, the White Elizabeth raised the same arm and a cut on her own arm appeared. "Not that it will make any difference."
"Since the wound will heal quite fast," The White Elizabeth said, before the first drop of blood fell into the ground the wound was gone.
"Good," Papa said nodding, "Very good... But do not be conceited, I will admit that you will be able to outright kill anyone here if you started a fight... Even weakened as you are now."
The faces of everyone screamed 'Weakened?!?!?!'.
"But Joseph and Xuan Wu are different... I usually would include Arthur..." Papa said, turning to the table where the man out of time was eating quite happily, as if nothing were happening.
"Huh?" Only to react as a new [Traveler] appeared behind him and slapped him on the back of his head, as this new Traveler moved it to the side and pointed him to a rift in time for the previous Traveler walked in. "Let me be clear, there is nothing in this world that will make me fight your daughter."
"..." Papa didn't react to that statement.
"I didn't fight you a single time after the first, why would I even think about fighting the monster that is your daughter, she is way worse than you. Or do you want to fight me again? The result will still be the same as before though." [The Traveler] said as he sat down and continued eating what the previous [Traveler] had been eating.
That was kind... of not gross? It was his own food after all, but even so, Elizabeth felt as if it should be gross.
"No thank you." Papa said shaking his head, "That was not a fight, you merely trapped me for five hundred years."
"...what?" Elizabeth said turning to Papa, then to [The Traveler]. "Wouldn't.... you become immune to time magic then?"
"No," [The Traveler] was the one to answer, "You see, while everyone is right that your father is a monster. His skill is not that dangerous, or broken. He can adapt, yes, but these adaptations will not be detrimental. If he became immune to [Time], he would be thrown out of this dimension, so he would not be my problem. If he didn't become immune, then I would win since I could just give him enough injuries before his body could adapt, killing him."
.....WHAT?!?!?!?
"Don't get me wrong, the premise for me to achieve this is hard. Even with him not being able to become immune to [Time], I still need to trap him. So to achieve that feat, the first time I had to carve a [Time Trap] for almost twenty years. I assume that now that he went ahead and became a [God] I would need....." [The Traveler] extended a hand to the side and a portal opened, from there a note fell. "Oh, only four hundred years... I thought it would take more... And there is a post note... if Catherine meddles, the time needed doubles, but all the features that she finds cute and/or hot in girls will disappear in one generation..."
Mother shook her head, "I would never mess with a sacred duel!" And said that.
Yeah...
"So you see, I am the man who can [kill] your father at any time," [The Traveler] said, smirking from his seat, "Do you see me in a better light now?"
"Not really." Elizabeth said shrugging, "I mean... Papa could just punch you and be done with it."
"...." Everyone nodded in understanding at that, "It may not kill you, but it will hurt as much would it not?"
"...Fair." [The Traveler] said nodding, "That is why I don't fight monsters, they are so absurd, even if you can kill them at any point in time."
