He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 371. Bloodbath 2

Kailen's skin turned deep crimson, archaic runes running through it.

A deep crimson horn, pulsing with malevolence, was nestled at the top centre of his forehead.

His red hair billowed in the wind, his red eyes teeming with malice.

An aura of pure bloodlust spread throughout the battlefield, the aura extremely thick and palpable.

Allies and enemies alike felt like suffocating under its weight.

Due to this, several battles happening on the field seemed to come to an unintentional halt.

" What the hell is that?"

" I can't… I can't… stand."

" What sort of bloodlust is this? I feel like someone is strangling me."

"Why do I feel like someone is literally stepping on me?"

" Look, what the hell is that?"

" It's Black Flask Darkhaven."

" The crimson devil?"

" Is that his strange physique?"

" What sort of devilish physique is this, causing him to exude this kind of bloodlust? Even if he has killed a lot of people, this kind of bloodlust is too much, right?"

Everlong , clad in a battlesuit, couldn't help but comment as she withdrew her sword from a corpse.

The others shared the same sentiment, completely terrified by the amount of bloodlust radiating from Kailen Darkhaven.

Kailen Darkhaven had become the focus of attention on the battlefield.

Then, he lifted his right hand toward the sky.

Szzzzzzrrrrrrtttttt…

"Ragnarok."

Lightning bolts churned from his fingertips, then snaked upward toward the freezing air, slicing through it.

The sky cracked open with a thunderous roar, as if the heavens themselves had been split apart.

Azure flashes rippled incessantly across the skies.

The skies churned; thick dark clouds formed, then…

Rumble… Rumble…

The lightning arcs—large, column-like—descended like harbingers of death.

Their descent, though, was precise.

Not random, not haphazard.

They were directed—toward enemy society members.

With each strike of lightning, they fell—like lifeless dolls.

Kailen didn't stand on ceremony. As the lightning incessantly paralyzed and reaped lives, he didn't just hover in the skies and observe; he moved, lightning snaking around his figure, sharp vines flickering with blue flames shooting out from the icy floors.

Their target: enemy society members.

Life gave way to death with each blow, each pierce, each strike, each burn.

" More… more… more."

Kailen had contrastingly calm eyes compared with his actions, and his desire for carnage, heightened by the activation of the Asura Enlightenment physique, fueled his assault on enemy society members.

If, since the society wars began, he had been Black Flask Darkhaven—fighting with intellect, psychological prowess, and pure strategy—he now looked like a madman. A brute chaos-monger who reveled in the battlefield's chaos.

Well, he was a madman before, but earlier he seemed chaotic in a gentle, refined, and dignified way—calmly dangerous.

But after what they were witnessing, everyone came to a terrifying realization: he could be both.

And that was dangerous.

He tore limbs apart, crushed heads into meat paste, bathed in the blood of his enemies, ripped them in two.

Kailen Darkhaven was a monster, in every way possible.

As he fought, the bloodlust of the battlefield fed his physique. He felt its strength slowly, but surely, increasing.

Wherever he passed, dismembered bodies, torn limbs, headless corpses were left behind him as testimony to his carnage.

The pungent smell of blood gathered as a pool behind him.

" Please… we are sorr—augggerrhh!"

" Spare us… we will defect societies and pledge allegiance to you no matter the conseque—"

Putuuuuu! (head rolls, scared and dumbfounded eyes)

" How can you be so wicked?"

Kailen didn't reply. He didn't need to.

It was simple.

They had crossed his bottom line.

Well, he didn't blame them for being members of some society and following orders.

But they were involved in a ploy to kill him and his society members, which included people he had come to care about—and future members of the Sword Tribunal Sect, a sect he wanted to rebuild in his father's name one day.

So don't talk about mercy.

They had to die.

Plus, he was in a killing mood thanks to the Asura Enlightenment physique. So why not kill two birds with one stone?

So Kailen slaughtered.

Slaughtered.

And slaughtered.

The spectators and his allies, on the battlefield and those watching from various locations—Arrie and co., Old Ha, Ethan, Jackson and co.—had gone from shock, screams, amazement, to silence.

Even they were shocked at not just Kailen's ruthlessness, but how he had gone about it this time.

The powerhouses in particular , had seen their fair share of massacre and death.

But to be performed with such gruesome cruelty and on such a scale was something else entirely—especially when performed by a seventeen-year-old.

Just what did he have to experience to make him so numb to killing?

What horrors, what pains, did he have to endure?

About two thousand opposing society members—geniuses from various regions of the empire, carrying the hopes of families and clans—were dead, thanks to him. A seventeen-year-old.

He had massacred them all because they wanted to kill him.

But they knew the backgrounds of the dead fellows couldn't do anything to him or his loved ones:

Because the powerhouses backing him would openly support him and not permit anyone to harm them—not after he had demonstrated his prowess as a Black Flask.

Kailen Darkhaven had sent a strong message:

Don't mess with me and those I care about, else you'll end up like these fuckers—or worse.

And because he had demonstrated it, it hit hard.

The empirewide audience was silent.

The whole battlefield was silent.

Allies were in shock, afraid of him.

Enemies thought twice about their plans to get rid of him.

Esimo's hands were shaking as he stared at the crimson figure, bathed in blood, calmly seated atop a large pile of corpses beneath which blood flowed.

" Is this the warm Kailen we always joke about and have conversations with?"

Everyone sighed deeply, sharing his sentiment—especially Anaya, as she stared at Kailen with an expression of fear and shock.

She recalled how warm Kailen had been, how he had helped her solve the problem of her family being targeted by the Revearson clan in Atlantis.

She even recalled their hug, how warm he was to everyone in the society, especially the leaders, and the occasional jokes he made.

She was finding it difficult to connect the two people- the warm introvert ,and the savage ruthless , devil , seated atop, a a mountain of corpses , were the same person.

And she was not the only one who felt this way.

" Senior brother is really ruthless" Lian Yu couldn't help but shake his head with a sigh.

Today's occurence was bound to be recorded in the empire's history books.

He knew Kailen was ruthless and he had done ruthless things to his enemies and ended them in gruesome ways but this was on another level.

He suddenly remembered the time he offended Kailen on the Sword Conclave Mountain and heaved a large sigh of relief. He suddenly felt like he had really been fortunate to have escaped death or worse , that day.

Pan and Miranda , seated close to one another for some reason, couldn't help but sigh at the same time.

" I was really fortunate to leave the Arcane Empowerment Sect and the Arcane Society"

He never questioned his decision but ,now it really hit hard that he had made the right call.

Miranda nodded as she stared at Kailen, not with a gaze of infatuation like previously, but with respect.

" I don't think anyone will have the gall to mess with him from now on"

Realizing they were sitting too close though , each abruptly shifted away from the other with a shy expression.

Clearly, this development between them was not accidental . Something had happened during the society wars that definitely accounted for this outcome.

Anyway,

Others whispered similar words - full of fear, shock and respect for Kailen Darkhaven.

Kailen had done terrifying things to his enemies, but this was on another level.

They didn't judge him or call him a bad person for what he did.

They just… now understood how deeply dangerous Kailen was when his bottom line was crossed.

And they thanked their stars for not ending up in that category.

Ignoring the looks around him, Kailen savored the bloodlust of the battlefield, closed his eyes, and cultivated atop a pile of corpses.

In a few hours, the society wars would end, and his Asura Enlightenment physique would have to break through to the second level before that happened.

Meanwhile....
