I was surprised by the woman shouting at me and blinked at her in response.
She even pulled out the knife to point at me, only for the rest of my table to suddenly stand up and point their weapons at her before she could even lean forward another inch.
Ok girls… Everyone just calm down here… There's no need for violence…
Actually… Where the heck were you girls even hiding your weapons?! Aren't all of you wearing formal dresses and suits?!
Ok… To be honest, I also brought along my halberd but that's in its box form so I have that as an excuse since it's easy to hide. But the rest of you… How?!
Lea?! How the heck did you manage to hide your entire sniper rifle on you without anyone else noticing it?! At least Ries only brought along two high calibre pistols instead of an entire minigun so that's understandable!
To her credit, the woman didn't even look phased by the weapons pointed at her and even sneered in disdain.
"What? Are you really going to shoot me? Me? You really have no idea who I am, do you?!"
Amber tightened her grip on her pistol, "It is you who do not know who you are talking to, bitch."
"Why the fuck should I care who I'm talking to!?"
Yumiko growled at her, "Because what Mistress said about your food is true. It seems like you show very little care in the way you prepare your food that it's entirely laughable."
The woman swivelled to glare at Yumiko, "What does a stupid mutt know about food? Everything that I have prepared has sent people to the heights of ecstasy! You dare come to my restaurant and not only insult me but also insult my cooking?!"
Her restaurant? Is she the head chef or even the owner here?
I cleared my throat, "Ahem… I meant no disrespect… It's just that we have more specific tastes you see… So I felt that it might be better to have the food to be more flavourful than being health conscious…"
I mean… I assume that the reason why she wasn't using as much seasoning was because of health reasons or something and my girls engage in enough exercise everyday to not need to care about such things.
Of course… I'm referring to the lewd kinds of exercises that we do in bed…
My words were completely genuine so I was surprised when she turned back to glare at me, "Flavourful? Do you even know what flavour is?!"
At this point, several people in black suits rushed in, all of them armed to the teeth and pointed their guns at my girls.
I let out a sigh as I figured out the inevitable path that I would have to take to resolve this confrontation.
"If I may… Could I just cook something for you to taste?" I requested, gesturing to the grill in front of her.
"You dare?! You dare ask to use my own grill?! You are nothing! You are a nobody! What makes you think that I would even let you into this sacred space and even touch my tools?!"
"Just let me make one dish for you to taste and if you are unsatisfied, we will leave, alright?"
She crossed her arms, "You think I will just let you mess up my kitchen and leave after spewing such insults?!"
"Then what do you want?"
She went silent for a moment to consider before looking at me again, "One dish… If you aren't able to make me say it's good, then you will cut off your own hands."
Ah geez, that's a little too much don't you think? Well fine.
"And what if I make you say that it's good?" I asked.
She let out an arrogant laugh, "Hahahaha! If you can make me say that what you made is good, I will accept you as my teacher and become your student!"
Amber scoffed, "Oh please… You're not even worthy to clean her dishes, much less be her student."
Come on, Amber… You have to admit that she really does know how to cook so that's not fair…
The chef looked like she was about to blow her top at Amber so I quickly interrupted, "Alright then. Let me cook."
She turned back to me and glared, "Without using my tools. Use your own."
You really expect me to have cooking tools with me right now? What do you… Oh.
I turned to Renata right as she pulled out the same exact tools that I would use when cooking back on our ship. Looks like she replicated them using her body I guess?
And for some reason… She also brought along some of the seasonings that I had made and placed them on the counter as well.
Something tells me she took those seasonings so that she could use them to season the stuff that she eats to make it taste better… And I'm talking about things like the Power Armour that she ate earlier…
I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth so I quickly took the stuff she placed on the counter and brought over to the grill, the blonde chef scowling at me the entire time while still giving off a look of superiority.
Clearly she didn't think that I would be able to succeed.
Then again, even if I made something nice, she would probably just insist on it not being good and cut off my hands anyway…
The only reason why I wasn't concerned was because I fully intend on using my tentacles to create a fake pair of hands over my real one and cut that off instead. So there would be no problems even if I lose.
I looked at the ingredients left on the cart that was behind the counter and there were still some leftover fish and vegetables that she had made for us earlier so I decided I might as well just create the same dish.
I started up the grill and I realised it was still showing the holographic displays that showed the temperature and all the other useless information that I didn't need.
I pointed at the display, "How do you turn these screens off?"
The woman just stared at me as though I just asked her how do I turn on the stove.
She didn't say anything so I just tried to fiddle with the controls and… Oh! There it is! Cooking guidance… Off! There we go! Now it's cleaner~
I flipped my spatulas and gave them a few clicks together before I started my usual routine.
I used my own oil and seasonings to drizzle over the grill first before I flipped the vegetables and mushrooms onto the metal grill.
Because it was already ingrained into my muscle memory, I was flipping around my tools and doing tricks as I cooked.
I picked up the piece of fish and flipped it into the air before catching it with the flat end of my spatula, drawing a few claps from my girls who had thankfully returned to their seats to watch me.
The piece of fish was then placed on top of the grill and the sizzling sounds of the meat being cooked filled the air.
The woman beside me clicked her tongue, "You don't even know if it's cooked or not without all those indicators… This is already going to be a disaster…"
Really? You actually needed the thing to tell you that it's cooked to know it's cooked?
Damn… That's kind of sad.
I ignored her and put more seasoning on the fish, adding some of the sauces on the grill and soaking both the fish and vegetables in them.
I waited until the fish changed colour before I cut a small piece of it away to leave at the side and then scooping up everything else together to place them on a plate to slide over to the chef.
As for the small piece that I cut away… I gave it to Ries who immediately let out a cute squeal and ate it without hesitation.
Ignoring the cute squealing noises coming from my catgirl, I focused on the blonde chef in front of me instead.
She was staring at the dish with clear disdain and she leaned forward to give it a sniff.
She probably wanted to say something disparaging about the smell but stopped when she realised that it actually smelt mouthwatering.
Really… I almost wanted to just eat that myself.
She then slowly cut a slice of the fish before bringing it up to her mouth.
The moment it landed on her tongue, she tried to make a gagging motion like she was about to vomit but then once again stopped herself.
Her mouth visibly trembled and she slid her tongue back inside her mouth, closing it to savour the taste of the fish that was now inside her mouth.
She chewed on it slowly before swallowing it, the woman just staring off into space after taking that single bite.
And then she just stood there without moving for the next few minutes.
Err… Don't tell me she fainted?
