[Core of the Universe]
Lady Universe held a calm gaze on the faces of the four cosmic beings who were with her at the core of the universe. On the screen before them, Kent could be seen conversing with Axiom, Kailan, and Kol.
Obviously, from the look on their faces, none of them saw this coming. None of them expected the last floor temple master to be three void beasts who, in a way, are linked to Kent.
"How did this happen?" Lady Universe asked, her expression calm. However, she seemed confused about what she was looking at.
"I have no idea. From what the timeline showed, the void legion fell before the fated call. All 69 of them died, and through their grief, the chaos dragon finally made his move. So I have no idea why they are still alive, and even worse, how they became masters of the void temple."
Enchantress, who is responsible for the correct flow of the timeline, even failed to see this anomaly. If there was a way for the void legion to survive, the only person who should have at least known was the Guardian of the Universe Timeline.
But she was ignorant of what happened, and now it seems the implications would be severe if not handled well.
"Before we point fingers, how about we examine the timeline again and see if there are any branches. We both know the moment branches started appearing, calamity would descend. So let's see that first," Fate proposed, already sensing that the three people standing before Kent are Fateless.
They do not have fate, which, in a way, is concerning.
Someone without a fate is like a danger to the universe. They can do whatever they want without any repercussions. Fateless are branded criminals and, as such, subjected to all kinds of restrictions to keep them in check.
However, if a Fateless meant it, no matter the restriction, they wouldn't care. So they are dangerous, and as such, all five cosmic beings are now concerned about whether their appearance was good or bad.
The Enchantress pulled up the timeline. However, even after closer examination, nothing appeared wrong with the timeline.
But that is where the problem is. As Fateless and beings that, as far as the universe is concerned, are dead, appearing alive and well should have raised red flags.
"This doesn't make sense at all. It is like we were played by a mortal," Destiny said with a giggle, maintaining her usual smile.
Just like how the three void beasts are Fateless, they also do not have destiny, and looking at the frown on Karma's face, it is clear he has no hold on them, either.
"But how did he do it? How was he able to keep the void beasts alive, put them inside void temples, and, worst, make them Fateless?" Lady Universe asked, her expression still calm, and the confusion could still be seen in her eyes.
None of them has any idea how. However, their interest has been piqued. They would closely examine the three Void Beasts and see if they could figure out something.
"I feel played," Karma suddenly said, looking at Kent on the screen.
"This was supposed to be a trial as payment for the karma he was owing me. However, not only did he gain more, but he also manipulated the trial from beyond the grave." He looks pissed and, well, defeated.
Kent had defeated him several times in the past. However, just when he felt like he was finally about to win, the worst happened.
"Are you going to cry about it?" Destiny, of course, didn't care what Kent did. In her heart, someone who once saved the universe can do as he pleases. In her book, he had earned it.
So in a way, she is happy since she would get to tease Karma with it.
However, she also understood just how severe this discovery was...
"Just how did he do it? None of us saw through him."

While the five cosmic beings were left stunned, unsure of how to make sense of the fact that people who were supposed to be dead are now alive and even managed to hijack a void temple, Kent was having a different conversation with his void legion.
"So let me get this straight. You three, in addition to the void legion, died during the great war; however, I somehow managed to send you back in time to the point where you were merely Immortal Monarchs, Kailan an Immortal King, and Kol a True Immortal.
But even worse, I didn't just send you back; I found a way to let you keep your future memories. And from those memories, I made sure you weren't arrested by the void beast council in the first place and thrown in prison, like how it should have happened.
The rest of the course was for you losers to find a way to return to me. You three, however, decided to hijack a Void Temple, and now here you are."
"More or less, that was what happened."
"I wonder why you were arrested in the first place. Hijacking a void temple, really?"
Axiom and his pals laughed, "In our defence, living in the Void Universe is boring. It wasn't like we could slaughter them from there. Doing so would have invoked the wrath of the Void Overlords.
However, now that we are here, we can hunt down other void temples, and since we are void beasts, we can easily enter and slaughter the temple masters."
Axiom pulled his hood, revealing a rather handsome face. He looks like a human, but he has a third eye on his forehead.
"You weren't the only smart one, Master. We learned a lot of stuff from you, so don't be surprised when you meet the others. Knowing the 9 leaders, we are diabolical by nature."
"Unbelievable," Kent sighed. "I mean, how did I even manage to send you back in time after you died? That is not possible, at least by the standard of how time, life, death, and space work."
"We also don't know. However, a couple of years before the Great War, you mentioned something along the lines of Origin Law. That is all we know."
Kent was confused by Kol's answer, but the same could not be said of the cosmic beings. They all held shocked expressions.
Clearly, this Origin Law is something powerful. Perhaps powerful enough that it allowed Chaos to even fool cosmic beings as powerful as the origin laws of the universe: Fate, Destiny, and Karma.
"I probably would know more later. However, now that you are here, what next?"
"Very simple, actually. 120 void temples were sent this time around. 119 landed in what you call the immortal worlds, and this one came here. We may have affected it somehow, causing it to end here.
Of course, knowing what you are capable of, there is no telling if the three of us are still dancing on your puppet string or if you have your fingers wrapped around Fate's neck.
But the fact that we ended up here is no coincidence.
However, now that we are here, you must become an immortal in the next 5,000 years, or else the other void temples would open, and you already know what would happen after that."
"We still have time, so they can wait," Kent said, then an evil smile appeared on his face. "However, since you are now here, why don't you hand over your storage pouches? I believe you brought some fancy void treasures, right?"
The smile on their faces froze.
"I knew it, he is still the shameless dragon we know. He even has no shame, robbing your own subordinates in broad daylight," Kol said in a defeated tone. In the end, he handed over his storage pouch.
Kailan and Axiom followed.
