After the event with Lucie, Noah retreated to his room with his wives, intending to finally get some well-earned sleep.
But that was easier said than done, when dozens of women were squirming around him, tangled together despite the colossal bed they occupied, each one desperately trying to make contact with him while sleeping.
Noah simply stared blankly at the ceiling, letting them fight for their places as some even went as far as to bite each other.
The room had truly become a colosseum of a brutal, catlike battle.
He didn't even budge, allowing them to sort it out themselves while his mind drifted elsewhere, toward the future.
This trip to Earth had given him many things, but it had also left him with more questions than answers. For one, he now knew that his transmigration to Laeh had not been an event of pure coincidence.
Perhaps some being was behind it. Or maybe it had been a cosmic force that had seen in him something he himself had yet to understand.
There were many questions, but as always, very few answers.
Noah could do nothing but set those thoughts aside for now.
Then there was the matter of his mother, Maryam. Reviving her would mean entering the Spirit World, not something he feared, but something he knew better than to approach unprepared, especially if his wives were to accompany him this time.
He didn't dare leave them alone now.
But before all of that, Noah needed to act on a grander scale. He had to spread his influence across the universe and gather intelligence on the other races, their movements, their motives, their threats.
He could no longer afford to focus on one thing at a time while letting the rest fall stagnant. He needed to learn to coordinate everything at once, to weave all his threads together, if he was ever to stay one step ahead.
It would not be difficult. He had many capable subordinates, and it was time to let them taste the immensity and diversity of this universe.
Besides, with his Providence, it would be easier for him to know exactly where opportunities lay.
He had to become the all-knowing, beneath only The Records.
But before all that, he first needed to create his own power progression. He needed to do it before leaving Laeh once again.
'I also need to officially invite Asaemon and Aurelia into my race tomorrow. Then I'll bring Evadam to Earth and give him the necessary tools to begin his research.'
Somehow, he was eager to see what humans could become without mana. Would they truly be able to reach godhood?
He couldn't wait to find out.
"Are you thinking about the future again?" Yuki asked beside him, her voice cutting through his web of thoughts, her sword-shaped eyes locking deep into his white ones.
Her words made the others pause in their playful barbarism, their attention shifting to the ongoing conversation.
Noah nodded at Yuki's words before slowly raising his hand to caress her cheek. "Yes," he said softly, "I need to think about it, don't I?" He smiled faintly.
"Will you be okay?" Zara asked in a low voice. "Will you continue to shoulder the weight alone?"
"Yes," Ester added. "I don't understand why you burden yourself so much. Aren't we here? Or do you see us as nothing more than trophies?"
Noah immediately shook his head, vehemently. "Absolutely not. You know well how I see all of you, my wives."
"You're strong and talented women who could rule worlds if you wished," he continued. "It's just… I can't bear the sight of my wives being hurt, or burdened by something I can take on instead."
He smiled faintly, his beauty radiating beyond what should have been allowed. "Isn't it my duty as a husband?"
"But isn't it also the duty of a wife to shoulder her husband?" Selene countered gently, caressing his cheek. "Or do you want us to feel unworthy of the rings around our fingers, my dear baby?"
At that, Noah could only close his mouth, finding nothing to say. After a few seconds of silence, he sighed, then spoke again, his voice softer now.
"This time, we'll do this together," he said. Then his grin returned, his eyes glimmering with familiar mischief.
"As my dear Seer once said…"
"One step of mine, one step of yours. I walk, you walk."
The women smiled, an eager, but also cruel smile.
"We've been silent for too long, haven't we, husband?" Anya whispered, her black eyes glowing with an intense light of destruction.
Noah nodded. "We have indeed."
He swept his gaze over his wives. "I'll need all of you to reach the World Dominator Rank as soon as possible. To do that, you must control the core of a world, make it submit to your will."
"The stronger the world, the greater the power and enhancement you'll gain. Once you've dominated its core, you can use it to understand your Law."
He paused, watching them closely.
"At least, that's how it's supposed to be. For now, just focus on reaching the World Dominator Rank. As for your Laws, I'll find a way for each of you to create yours without wasting millions of years," he said, and inwardly…
'My progression system… I should create one for myself, but with what I have, I'll forge derivatives suited to each of their characteristics.'
If he was walking toward perfection, then he might as well bring his wives with him.
And in the end, what would they become?
A family of perfected beings…? well, that sounded far too broken, didn't it?
And yet, the path toward perfection was still veiled in darkness as thick as oil. After all, Noah still hadn't the faintest idea what perfection truly meant to him.
Maybe that was where he needed to start.
He would first have to understand where he was going, because simply wishing for perfection was too vague. Once he knew what kind of perfection he sought, the way to achieve it would reveal itself naturally.
After all…
As they say, you'll be lost amidst a sea of possibilities if your path itself is made of nothing but possibilities.
Noah's lips curled upward, his world-heart easing. "Tell me, my dear wives," he said softly, "in your beautiful eyes, what would my perfection look like to you?"
He was made of love.
He was the sum of his wives.
So…
What better way to begin this path than by asking the ones with whom he would spend the rest of his immortal life?
And so…
The wives chirped.
And Laeh was veiled in darkness, before the sound of morning birds slowly lifted it away.
…
The sun crawled back into the white sky of Laeh, and Noah immediately set out to do what he was meant to do.
The previous night had been refreshing, even though his wives had all slept on top of him, leaving him barely able to breathe.
He didn't doubt that, had he been mortal, he would've long been choked to death.
Death by suffocation under beautiful women?
'Well, guess what? I wouldn't mind that at all,' Noah thought with a faint grin as he halted in his steps, his gaze settling ahead.
There, sitting together on a massive rock, were Asaemon and Aurelia, facing the vast expanse of a flattened mountain before them.
The sight was magnificent. It looked as though a god had once slammed down a colossal mountain, flattening it, but paradoxically leaving it high enough to cast its shadow over the forest below, where trees grew like restless weeds.
Noah's arrival didn't go unnoticed, both his siblings turned their heads toward him.
They smiled at each other.
Noah approached, and the two shifted slightly to make room for him. He sat between them in silence, the wind brushing softly across the vast plateau.
There was a strange stillness for a moment, not one of heaviness, but one of peace and acknowledgment.
The wise often said that the night was a good advisor. It seemed it was a right statement.
Asaemon and Aurelia had both found the time to put their minds and hearts at ease during the night, acknowledging many things, and making peace with many more in the process.
Sometimes, it was simply easier to accept the superiority of another and find peace within that truth.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Envy is a sin.
The two siblings had accepted, and in doing so, they had managed to shed, or at least greatly lessen, the feeling of inadequacy that had lingered beside Noah's overwhelming presence.
They realized they didn't have to compare themselves to him. Noah was Noah. And they were themselves.
They might never be as blasphemous as he was, but they were still powerful, and would grow even stronger, until the universe itself trembled at the mention of their names.
As for how they would achieve that?
There were many ways. But the best one was obvious…
"Youngest," Asaemon said suddenly, a shameless grin spreading across his face. "How about you make us part of your race?"
Aurelia nodded beside him, smiling.
Jealousy was a fool's feeling. Better to seize opportunity, to grab the tail of the one soaring ahead and never let go.
You'll go farther that way than most ever will.
And with that…
"You stole the words right out of my mouth, brother," Noah laughed.
The Abominations all became Elysiari.
