The Safe Zone was undone and the green light that had provided warmth to this lonely corner of the dungeon was once again covered in the cold sadness.
The Naga mother glared at Aria, her three eyes looking through her very soul, trying to figure out whether to trust her with her life, with the life of the only beings that mattered to her.
"Ptsssss…"
Keeping the pressure she was putting on Aria, she thought about the pros and cons of the situation she was in right now.
If she gave her children to this person, the person who was capable enough to birth a kindness of such a great degree, then there's a good chance that she'd protect them and raise them in a better way than she could.
However, she was also a human. One that was connected to the dungeons that she had somehow come to resent.
"They'll be fine… you just have to believe me." Aria, despite the great pressure she was under, kept the reliable look that had captivated many strong individuals already.
This look, being the sole reason the Naga mother had not killed her, became the reason for her careful consideration of the situation as well.
"I will not participate in the battle and I will not help the others if you want me to. If you do defeat them, then you'll have them back. And even if you couldn't make it till the end… I'll do my best to find out if there's any way to bring you back."
If the dungeon's core was closer to a high efficiency computer then it should also store all the data that was recorded inside its main system.
Even if the creatures were dying physically, their data should still be present in the core. At the very least, she believed that to be the case from her logic.
She did not know whether there would be some way to bring her back, but as long as the data remained, there would be a way to turn that Data into an artificial consciousness.
"I… I'm no god. I'm weak, and there's a lot I don't understand yet… but believe me. The three of them would live."
If she stored them in her storage space, then there would be no one who would ever know of their existence. Without proof, there would also be no one to question anything related to it.
The reason they kept the fact about three pearl-like eggs hidden was because of their value.
The association people knew about them, a few outsiders knew about it, but that was it. If the eggs vanish, who can prove she is the one that has them?
Besides…
-Ooooooooooong!
She took out something from her storage space, three pearls that looked identical to the eggs the Naga mother was protecting.
"Keep them with you if that puts you at ease. If you are gone, they will vanish and the others will think the dungeon was behind it."
Aria used her creation skill to create something like this for the first time. She had learned how the principles of creation worked from her first boss fight so she used her memory, and her close observations inside the dungeon to recreate the eggs.
While the association might suspect her, she knew they would still not get the eggs away from her. It wasn't possible as long as they were inside her storage skill.
"Ptssss…"
The snake mother found the identical eggs very strange at first. The way they looked and the way they felt was awfully right.
She did not want to admit it, but they were a great imitation. And with them in the picture, the overall result could certainly change. The final decision still remained in her hands, however.
"I don't have much time left. I have to go… I'd tell you what would happen to all of them if we had more time, but, as you might already understand, humans are never kind to your kind."
Aria looked at the Naga mother, the same creature that had made her cough up blood, with a kind of compassion and empathy that worsened her worries.
"Ptsssss."
She looked down at her children, an expression of great conflict present in her three eyes.
The three silver eyes reflected her three eggs, beings who weren't as restricted by this dungeon as she was.
Around her, there were chains that perhaps only this dumb person standing before her could see. And these chains forced her primal nature onto her.
Controlling herself was getting worse now that the Safe Zone was lifted, and she did not know for how long she would be able to withstand these restrictions.
"Ptsssss…"
But she knew she needed to make the decision while she still had the time.
So she did.
"Ptsssss."
She uncoiled herself and freed her three eggs as one of them moved a little on the ground.
After that, the outline of her eyes glowed in a certain blue as the eggs, more dear to her than her own life, started floating.
The three that Aria had brought out floated as well and both the pairs moved midair.
Her beloved children were going away to a stranger that she did not even know anything about.
For something that was being called a beast and monster, she was more human than most that she had seen in this world.
It wasn't fair that she was being scarified like this. But then again, there was no way to save her.
-Oooooooooooong!
[ "Warning! Warning! The dungeon has detected an anomaly!" ]
While the eggs were still midair, Aria felt a sudden pain in her heart.
[ "The dungeon is heavily restricting the anomaly creature: White Scale Naga! Please get away from it!" ]
In Aria's eyes, chains that had seemed blue and transparent became solid and red, wrapping around the Naga mother so tightly that it visibly troubled Aria.
"PTSSSS…!"
Due to Qwy's special skill, she felt a fraction of the pain the Naga mother had felt in that moment, and that was still enough to almost knock her unconscious.
Aria did not know how she endured it, but she did.
-Zaaaaaaaa!
However, while she may have endured the sudden pain, she could not prevent the sudden fall of all the six eggs in the air.
"Qwy!"
"I know…!"
Aria understood the crisis she was in so she instantly placed a barrier around her first.
In a split second that she had, she moved her body and reached the place where the eggs had fallen and tried to store them in her storage space.
[ "A powerful Mana disturbance has been detected around the storage target! A limited barrier is being deployed around the affected area!" ]
"Arghhhhhh!"
Mana so powerful it blew away the arm that was directly touching the egg exploded from the surface of the egg. She had lost her arm had it not been for the protective barrier that materialised around her arm in that moment.
"Qwy! Qwy!"
Qwy was up in the sky as she knew what was going on. She was screaming at her creator, asking her to go away as quickly as she could.
But Aria did not move.
"Assistaance system! Help me get the eggs!"
She could not touch the eggs directly with the barrier in place so she asked her Roseaviel to help her, like how she was supposed to.
[ "It is not advised not to-." ]
"Rose! Just do something!"
[ "Analyzing the situation at hand to produce optimal results." ]
[ "Using 10CU for a Hybrid Barrier deployment." ]
-Oooooooooong!
A powerful gust of wind covered her while at the same time, the chains wrapped around the Naga mother completely.
-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish!
A pressure so intense that it blew away the very ground the Naga was present, creating a crater three metres deep right where they were.
The three eyes that were silver and filled with emotions became stoic, becoming red as if they were under the control of some other power.
"Ptssssss…!"
With that, the Naaga mother hissed with a kind of wrath that did not make any sense. The chains wrapping around her had taken away her individual nature completely by now, rendering her to only a beast true to its instincts.
"Ughhhh!"
The pressure coming from her became so intense that Aria would have lost her life had she just stayed like that… However, there was something that protected her this time as well.
[ "Hybrid Barrier limit: 15 seconds!" ]
A thin layer of green and blue covered her body closely, almost seeming like a thin sheet of Mana wrapping around her.
It wasn't a barrier that restricted her movement or prevented her from directly getting in contact with anything but instead something that allowed her free movement.
Ten creation units for something like this, something that protected her from the pressure of the giant creature as well as the destructive Mana around the eggs, something that only lasted for a few seconds might not seem justifiable, but she did not have any time to think about resources right now.
'Quick! Hurry!"
She focused all she had, all her mind, all her instincts on the eggs. There were six, but she did not need six so she instinctively felt the real ones, differentiating them from her own creation, and stored them with much difficulty.
"Ughhh!"
The pain of the Mana current was still there, still unbearable, but she somehow endured.
"Qwy!"
Finally, when she was done, Qwy made her move.
-Swish!
She descended down and helped Aria get out of there.
-Ooooooooong!
With the help of a potion that made her body as light as a feather, she quickly flew away from the fog covered area, sending the emergency signal the moment she was in the air.
{ "All units! Prepare for battle!" }
Her entire body was ridden in scars, her arm was all black from the first explosion and she was still not in a good condition… but, she had done what she was there for.
"Miss Aria…!"
"Aria!"
Now, it was up to them to take down the wrathful being completely succumbed to its innate, beastly nature.
