Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 239: Meeting with Chairman

"Have you done something to get into trouble?" Dr. Reyaan asked, his eyebrow raised.

"Not that I remember," I said, rubbing the back of my head.

After a brief pause, Dr. Reyaan said, realising that several gazes were fixed on us,

"Let's talk at someplace more appropriate than this."

The people in the stadium were already slowly leaving. The barrier was undone, and in an instant, dozens of men wearing black formal attire entered the field and began lifting the debris to make the ground a bit plainer.

"It's only been a little over twenty days, but you seem completely unrecognisable, Mr. Raj," a voice that I had surely heard before came from one of the men who were cleaning the ground.

"How have you been, Mr. Li?" I replied, recognising the man.

"Oh! I'm honoured that you remember me from our brief meeting," Zheng Li chuckled before continuing. "I apologise for the inconvenience my officers caused."

"That was nothing. I don't hold grudges over something so minor."

"No, I'm apologising for another problem that they caused," he replied, making me raise an eyebrow in curiosity.

With a voice laced with guilt, he revealed, "It was my officers who leaked the information about you being an E-Rank."

"Now it all makes sense," I sighed.

Thinking that I was disappointed or might even be angry at them, he instantly gave a ninety-degree bow. "I'm sorry that I couldn't keep my officers in check, Mr. Raj."

"Well, I don't know… I faced many inconveniences because of that," I said, shrugging.

The poor man turned teary upon hearing my response and apologised with even greater sincerity.

"Stop playing with the soft heart of my assistant, Mr. Raj," Dr. Reyaan said, joining in.

"Hahaha, he was giving such hilarious reactions that I couldn't stop myself," I laughed before turning to Zheng Li. "I don't hold any grudges, Mr. Li. That's all in the past."

While we were conversing, a white Sikorsky S-92 helicopter arrived at the stadium, landing on the ground that the men in formal attire had just flattened.

"Come in, Mr. Raj," Dr. Reyaan said as Zheng Li opened the door of the helicopter.

The interior of the helicopter was designed with wood-coloured finishing. Two luxurious chairs were placed facing each other on one side, while a sofa parallel to the other wall was placed on the opposite side.

I didn't know helicopters could be this luxurious inside. My eyes widened and my lips parted slightly as I sat on one of the chairs, looking completely like a bumpkin.

After letting me enjoy the interior of the helicopter for a couple of minutes, Dr. Reyaan finally spoke up.

"Do you want to become a professional Awakener?"

"Huh… oh yeah—I mean, yes I do," I blurted out at the sudden question, as I was still immersed in the luxurious interior of the helicopter.

"When are you planning to join the academy?"

"I'm not sure yet. Maybe next month."

"After seven days, there will be an orientation for the new students of the academy," Dr. Reyaan revealed. "If you want to join the academy, you should attend the orientation. You can get closer to your classmates."

"That's the last day of the 30 Days Daily Challenge. There will definitely be a difficult special challenge on that day," I thought inwardly. "I want to reject the offer, but I don't want to come off as rude to Sister Aisha's father when she has been so kind to me."

Seeing me ponder the idea so intensely, Dr. Reyaan added, "You don't necessarily have to come. It will only help you familiarise yourself with the Awakeners you will take classes with there. Besides, unlike regular boring orientation, they will take the students to an E-Rank gate and give the tour of dungeon while the professional instructors will clear the gate simultaneously."

"Classes?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, the only word that got my attention. "I thought the academy only taught combat techniques and methods of survival in dungeons."

"You are certainly more uninformed than I expected, Mr. Raj—"

"Umm… Sir, may you address me without using honorifics? Not only are you senior to me in both age and authority, you are also the father of my dear sister-in-law," I said, rubbing my head awkwardly.

Both Dr. Reyaan and Zheng Li stared at me for a couple of seconds before letting out light chuckles.

"You were right when you said I would definitely like this gentleman once I talked to him," Dr. Reyaan said to Zheng Li, who only nodded with a light smile. "Alright then, I will address you as Raj."

"Then I should do the same, Uncle Reyaan," I replied.

"Hahaha! Sure… sure!" Uncle Reyaan laughed before continuing. "Now let me provide you with a briefing on what you will learn at the academy. For Awakeners, the classes are divided into combatants and non-combatants. Since you will be joining as a combatant, I shall only provide you with information related to that."

"Huh? How do you know I will join as a combatant?"

"Hahaha, if an Awakener who can injure an S-Rank at 'E-Rank' joins as a non-combatant, the combat division might as well shut down."

"Oh, you're aware of that," I chuckled, rubbing my head embarrassedly.

"I'm the chairman of the Awakener's Association. I need to be informed of every talented individual in the nation," Uncle Reyaan laughed before continuing. "As a combatant, besides combat abilities, you will learn mana fundamentals, dungeon studies, monster classification, ethics and law, and survival training. To pass the academy and obtain the Awakener's License, you need approval from at least six instructors. There is no time limit for when you must obtain that approval."

"Oh, thank you for explaining all that to me, Uncle Reyaan," I said, my visage turning serious. "But may I ask why you are interested in an E-Rank like me?"

"Haha! You might fool the others, Raj, but I'm aware of the insane battle capabilities you possess. Since you directly asked me the reason, I will be direct with you as well."

After a brief pause, he offered with a smile on his face,

"I want you to join the Awakener's Association after graduating from the academy—B-Rank Awakener, and a potential S-Rank Awakener, Raj Singh!"
