Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 240: Passage of time

A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! 🎊

---

Uncle Reyaan's sudden offer took me off guard. But what surprised me even more was his assumption that I was a B-Rank Awakener.

According to what I found out, a Formation Realm Awakener is considered E-Rank on Earth. The early, middle, and late stages were categorised as E, EE, and EEE for the same realm. A similar ranking method was used for the D and C ranks as well.

Since I was in the late-stage Spirit Adept Realm, I should currently be at DDD-Rank according to Earth's ranking system. Yet, I had no idea how Uncle Reyaan assumed me to be a B-Rank Awakener.

He was already aware of how I managed to injure Rudra, so it could be possible that he also knew I had solo-cleared a D-Rank dungeon.

Instead of clearing his misunderstanding, I just let out a chuckle and said,

"Uncle Reyaan, it's too early for me to decide what career option I should take. I have only turned conscious twenty-two days ago. There's still a lot for me to learn."

"Hmm, I can't argue with that," Uncle Reyaan sighed. "You should enjoy a bit of academic life before thinking about that."

As the conversation halted at an awkward phase, I spoke up,

"However, I will consider the Awakener's Association as my primary choice when it's time for me to join one."

For the rest of the ride, we just had casual conversations about daily life, sharing stories and experiences. Without even realising it, several hours passed just like that.

---

"We have arrived at the location, Sir," Zheng Li announced as the helicopter landed.

When the door opened, I found myself at the rooftop helipad of our mansion.

"Come inside, Uncle Reyaan," I said, inviting him.

"I would love to, but if I do come, I won't be able to leave because of that precious angel inside," Uncle Reyaan said, his face carrying a sad smile.

His expression clearly showed that he wanted to rest and play with his granddaughter for a moment, but being the chairman of the Awakener's Association, he couldn't spare time even if he wanted to.

I didn't force him further, as it would have only made him feel more helpless.

"I will visit you sometime with Inayat," I said, stepping out of the helicopter.

As the helicopter began taking off again, I waved goodbye, and surprisingly, for a brief moment, he also subconsciously waved back.

---

The moment I entered inside the mansion, I was bombarded by Maa's questions about how Aryan defeated Rudra. She hadn't watched the match because of Inayat, but even without knowing the details, she was certain that Aryan had emerged victorious.

I spent the next half an hour giving her a detailed, dramatic narration of everything that happened at Wankhede Stadium.

Maa listened with great excitement in her eyes, her face reacting like a child to every small detail I mentioned.

"As I told you, your brother won!" she murmured, her eyes turning teary.

She was a mother, after all. I gently hugged her as she cried tears of relief for several minutes.

"Where is my little princess, Maa?" I asked after she finally calmed down.

"Princess? She's more like a spoiled troublemaker," Maa sighed, pulling away from me. "After playing for an hour with the toys you left for her, she started throwing tantrums, saying she wanted her White Knight. Do you know how difficult it was for these old bones to wear the White Knight costume and carry her on my shoulders? You've spoiled her too much!"

"Haha, Maa! What are you saying? You're still so young! If we walk side by side, nobody would be able to tell that I'm your son. They would think—"

Before I could complete my sentence, her expression suddenly darkened and her visage turned horrified.

"Never say that again, Raj! You are my son!" she shouted, losing her composure.

It was rare for my usually calm Maa to lose her composure. Hell—it was the first time she had ever shouted at me like that.

After a brief pause, I asked, "Maa, is everything alright? Please tell me if something is bothering you."

She slowly regained her composure and murmured while touching my cheeks, "Never say that again, son."

"Maa, I was only about to say that you look more like an elder sister because of your looks, but forget that," I said, resting my face on her shoulder. "Forgive me for speaking foolishly."

She didn't say anything. She just gently caressed my hair for a few minutes before returning to her room.

---

Aryan and Sister Aisha didn't return home and decided to stay at the hospital for a couple of days, as they didn't want Inayat to suffer any negative mental effects due to her father's injuries.

As for me, I took a shower and came out of the bathroom.

"Today was one hell of a day," I sighed, resting on my bed.

I had turned my phone off since it was being spammed with articles, videos, and news about the battle that had occurred between Rudra and Aryan.

As soon as I closed my eyes, like every other day, Ume's crying face—the condition she was in before I returned to Earth—appeared before my eyes, sending an unbearable pain through my heart.

"It's only been a little over twenty days, and I'm already in this condition," I murmured, staring at the starry night sky through the window. "Is this what people call lovesick? There's a sweet pain in this disease."

While I was reminiscing about the moments Ume and I had spent together, a frightening thought suddenly crossed my mind.

"I spent a little over one year in Vyoman, and on Earth, five years have already passed. So wh-what if… what if the same phenomenon occurred in Vyoman while I'm here?"

Taking a deep gulp, my body drenched in sweat, I asked,

"Vivi, do you know how much time has passed in Vyoman since I came to this world?"

"Analysing Host's request…"

"Because of immense distance between the two worlds, finding the accurate passage of time is not possible. However, according to Vivi's calculations, it has been nine months and six days since the Host left Vyoman.

Note: The calculations may be a day or two early or late due to the vast distance between the two worlds."
