She stared at Gordon's back as they walked past the tree's that swayed and the wind gently blew past them

"We should have killed Vice" Jones spoke in a hushed tone "why did you stop"

Valeria glanced back "the same reason your whispering now" she narrowed her eyes as she looked back at Gordon "we don't know which side he'll pick if we fight"

Lucas slowed down his steps "are you sure Vice is weakened?" he shock off the leaf on his head

"He was talking with us" she looked down at the mice jumping over the root and walking past the rocks "he usually tells us what to do and when we question him, he threatens us"

'Those mouse should pay for what they did' her hands balled then

"Everyone stop" Gordon spoke, he turned and looked at the mice "go scout, some of you should climb the tree's to see better and if any of you feel your not safe you can run" the mice nodded and ran past him, some climbed the tree's as the sun dappled leaves flickered on the ground

Gordon walked to a steady tree and sat dawn crossing his legs then closed his eyes, his sword place in front of him while Valeria watched everything he did with caution

"Why don't we kill him?" Everyone eyes widen as Lucas whispered, Scarlet glared at Lucas as she leaned against a tree

"he betrayed us" he spoke before Scarlet could open her mouth "we have to do anything we can to protect ourselves" Jones and Freya nodded while Scarlet eyes stared at Lucas

"No" Valeria spoke seeing the tension between Scarlet and the group "we don't know how strong he is"

"He not stronger than Vice" he turned to Valeria "if we could threaten Vice we can kill him" his eyes pointed to Gordon

"That disgusting" Scarlet crossed her arms "how could you say that about your friend" she sneered at Lucas

"Then what should we do?" Lucas raised his voice then Scarlet stepped closer to him "we can always talk to him"

"I thought you already talked to him" Valeria stepped in

"His problem is with us not just me" she looked at Gordon with soft eyes, who had a few leaves on him "we should all talk to him"

Valeria turn to Freya sitting against a tree "why don't you talk to him?"

"Tsk" Scarlet leaned against a tree as the leaves rustling stopped

Valeria ignored her "he'll listen to you"

"No he wo.."

"Sir Gordon we found them" a mouse stood next to Gordon's sword that was covered by leaves, Freya stopped what she was saying and turned to Gordon

"How many did you see?" Gordon looked at the mouse as another leaf swirled to his head

"We saw 17 but we couldn't find a hobgoblin and some are burned" the leaves fell of his body as he uncovered his sword while Gordon had a calm expression everyone didn't share the same feeling as they heard the number

Their eyes widen, they turned to Valeria waiting for her to say anything

"Tell a few of them to stay and guard them" he looked at the vines that were wrapped around tree "the rest should come back and bring some vines with you" the mouse ran off

He stood up and looked at the others shocked face "tie those vines together"

'Is he insane' Valeria stepped back the thought of facing 17 of those green demons overwhelmed her 'we should run' everyone shared the same thought as Valeria

Freya, Jones and Lucas remember the times they met the goblins

"Lucas do remember how Vice fought the goblin?" Lucas nodded shutting his slacked jaw "Good, always remember that when your planning to kill him" everyone's jaw tightened

"And the next time you mention me in your plans" Gordon smirked as the sun vanished behind the tree's and his sword showed a brownish glow "remember I'm not afraid of 17 goblins"

They understood the massage behind his words but the was nothing they could do except clench their jaws and fists then look down as Gordon stared at them

"Now tie those vines together and pick up some boulders" Gordon turned and looked the direction the mouse left in

Valeria bit her lip she hated everything about her situation, she always did everything she could to protect everyone since her father died but the ratman grew mad everyday he stayed in charge then Vice came along to her he was the most unpredictable thing she had to deal with, every time she thought things were getting better they'll often take a turn for the worst.

"What should we do" she heard Jones voice, her friends never helped her with her situation they always ask her for help but are never happy with the outcome, a part of her wanted to be thanked for everything she had done even though she failed she always did her best for them.

She ignored Jones and looked up at Gordon as her nails dag into her palm, Gordon always had some solutions but never talked with anyone about them even when growing up Gordon would always help himself and drag everyone like ragdolls, she hated that about Gordon because it was the only thing she wanted in herself. She wanted to solve her problems alone but she could never do it after all, it was her fathers dying wish.

She took a deep breath smelling the earthy decomposing leaves, she turned to Jones "we'll listen to Gordon"

Jones nodded, him and Lucas moved to the tree's unwinding the vines

"Are you ok?" Freya looked at Valeria bleeding palms

She smiled at her "I'm fine" then

Scarlet grabbed her hands wiped the blood and tied some leaves using the vines

"Thanks" she looked a Scarlet "you wouldn't need to thank me, if you didn't hurt yourself"

She silently smiled as she watched Scarlet finish

"I'll talk to Gordon" Freya voice could barely be heard as the birds chirped but Valeria smiled at her

"Sir Gordon I brought everyone back with the vines" the mouse spoke, Gordon crouched and spoke with it despite their hearing no could hear him then

He stood up and walked into deeper parts of the forest, the mice ran to Valeria holding the vines

"Sir Gordon said you should tie this" a grey mouse spoke, putting the vines in front of Valeria

"That bastard didn't bother to talk with us again" Scarlet stomped her foot

"It's ok Scarlet, you can yell at him when he comes back" as she was about to pick up the vine, Freya reached it first "we'll tie them" she looked at Valeria's arm's

"Your right I'll give that piece of shit a peace of my mind when he returns" Scarlet sat on the leaves that filled the ground and tied the vines together while Valeria, Jones and Lucas looked for boulders

.

After while everyone was done, the ratman had their boulders and frowns as they keep replaying Gordon's insane plan that the mice told them about

Now the stood in the open waiting for the possibility of death, their fur tingled as they heard footsteps and the crunching of leaves

"Im going to kill that bastard" Scarlet grumbled and Valeria smiled but everyone else eyes stood frozen as they looked at the green pointy nosed demons running past the tree's towards them

But the 10 goblins seemed odd this time, their faces that are usually filled with smiles and laughter were now filled something that seemed grim their breathing unstable they kept looking back ignoring the ratman in front of them

The birds stopped chirping, the leaves stood still the only thing that could be heard was the goblins footsteps and their struggle for air

"NOW!!" Jones screamed

The vine that lay hidden near the goblins feet tightened snapping out of the leaves and tripping the goblins

The goblin eyes widen as the fell

"Thud"

Before the goblin could even try to stand, vines fell on their necks and feet slowing them from standing up then

Everyone ran at the goblins they dropped the boulders on their heads

"Thuds"

"Thud"

"Thud"

[9 500 exp gained]

Valeria eyes widen as she looked at the notification 'the mice are only 100 or less' then a struggling goblin reached out its arm

"The slim.." Jones dropped a boulder on the goblin that seemed to be begging for its life

She picked up a boulder and dropped it on another goblin quickly

"Thud"

[7 000 exp gained]

[You've leveled up]

its blood sprayed on her white fur but she smiled as she looked at the notifications

"That was easy" Lucas smiled showing his teeth

"Yes I killed two of those bastards!" Jones shouted throwing his arms in the air while the mice cheered

Scarlet jumped to Freya and hugged her, everyone was happy but despite smiling something bothered Valeria

The only thing she could hear through this whole forest was the cheers of her friends and mice but yet the tree were silent, the wind hushed and the birds were no where to be seen then

She heard faint footsteps "guys quite down" everyone turned and looked at her

The sun could no longer be seen but she didn't care she kept listening to the footsteps getting louder

"Hey why should we stop che.."

"RUUUUUN!" Lucas stopped speaking when he heard the Gordon deep voice scream through the partially dark forest

Every looked past the tree's into the darkness that had a blury big figure running toward them

"RUUUUUUNN!!!" They looked at each other as he ran to them

"We should run" Valeria stepped back, she didn't know what she would be running from but she knew Gordon was stronger than her

"He's probably pranking us" Jones spoke with a bitter smile but Scarlet and Freya stepped back while Lucas nodded "it's revenge for that mine prank"

Valeria looked around and the mice were gone then

"ROOOAAAAAAR!!!!" The roar shock the tree's, the gust of wind blew the leaves away as they shut their eyes then everyone fur stood

They could felt it, whatever made that roar made every creature in the forest crowl into a hole and hide deep

'What was that?' Valeria froze then Jones snatched her hand and ran as the forest behind Gordon turned bright red and orange

All she could hear now was the approaching sizzling sound behind her as Jones dragged her out of the forest
