Gina took in Jason's scent as they lay in bed, and she sighed happily as Jason ran his hand through her hair. Gina could tell that Jason was thinking deeply about the situation, and she felt a thought go through her own mind as well.
'One man and multiple women… Can this really work out?'
Gina was still wondering if she had made the right decision, but a large part of her told her that things were going to be okay. Jason understood what she was trying to tell him, even though it had been hard for her to say it, and Gina knew that he would consider both their feelings before making a choice. The couple simply enjoyed the calm and quiet for a few minutes, but Gina was surprised when Jason suddenly spoke up.
"So, you want to get married, huh…?"
Gina's cheeks reddened when she heard Jason's words, and she pressed her face into his chest! Jason looked down at Gina, and he thought she would be too shy to even respond, but Jason's brows rose when he saw her nod her head into his chest! Oh, that was surprising. Gina was actually serious! Jason pulled back a little and brought Gina's head up so she was looking at him, and he saw that she was too shy to even look him in the eyes! She was looking at his fucking nose! Jason chuckled!
"Hey, you're the one who spoke about marriage, you can't be this shy after bringing it up yourself."
"Yes, I can. I can be as shy as I want!"
Jason laughed at Gina's response, and he pulled her up for a kiss. The kiss was soft, and it only lasted for a few seconds, but Jason could feel Gina's love for him through that short connection. When they separated, Jason spoke softly.
"Well, I don't know about marriage right now. But, how about we get engaged?"
Gina gasped when she heard this, and she looked up at Jason with wide eyes! Jason was giving her a serious stare, and Gina couldn't sense a hint of playfulness in those eyes! Was Jason actually serious about this!? Was he really asking her to marry him!? Gina felt something wet sliding down from her eyes, and she asked with every seriousness,
"Really? Are… are you sure? I mean, you don't have to say it just because I mentioned it. You don't have to rush or anything—"
Jason smiled, and he cut Gina off softly.
"Gina, stop. I'm not saying this just because you mentioned it. We've been together all my life, and I honestly can't think of anyone else that I'd rather spend eternity with. So, will you marry me, Gina Fey?"
Gina burst out in tears once she heard Jason say the actual words, and Jason's smile widened as he saw her nod while speaking through her sobs!
"Of course, Jason! Hic~! Of course I'll marry you! I love you so much."
Jason sat up and gently helped Gina clean her tears before kissing her softly, and Gina hit him in the chest when she heard him laughing at her and calling her a crybaby.
"I'm not a crybaby, hic~! Stop it~!"
Gina pressed her face into Jason's shoulder and wrapped her hands around him, and Jason kissed her neck with a smile. Jason had no idea what the future would bring, but if there was one thing that he was sure of, it was that he was more than willing to spend the rest of his life with this crazy woman. She was a crybaby with a soft heart, and her tongue was sharper than a razor, but Jason loved every bit of her, and he knew he always would.
…
The celebrations and parties around Radagan continued well into the next morning. Even though many cities and towns had been leveled after the fights they had against the Sovereign, there was still a sense of disbelief that had hung in the air the previous day, and a lot of people had only been swept up in the excitement and partied all night long. But now that they had finally gotten some rest, the world of Radagan woke up to a feeling of liberation, and they couldn't help but celebrate the fact that they were finally free from a tyrant that had tormented them for so long.
There was a large gathering at the castle courtyard with hundreds of thousands of citizens who spilled all the way out into the streets of the city, screaming and cheering for the superhumans from Earth. All the superhumans had been taken care of and given nice-looking formal robes to wear for a festival in celebration of their victory, and even though a lot of them were hungover from the excessive drinking from the previous night, they were still shocked by the sheer number of people who came to celebrate them.
There was a [whisperstone] artifact sitting on a pedestal close to the superhumans, and this allowed them to understand the speech that the Radagan King was giving to the crowd. Luthor and Rufus were standing a small distance away from the other superhumans as they listened to the king address the citizens, and the two Enforcers were talking in low voices about how they could build better ties with the people of Radagan.
The previous night, Luthor had been busy meeting up with some of the high-ranking nobles of this world, and from what he gathered, Radagan was rich in a material known as dragonstone. This material was very similar to diamonds, but it had the potential to provide far more energy than even mana stones. Luthor wanted to try to get into a trade deal with the people of Radagan where they would exchange dragonstone for technology, but Luthor would have to talk with some of his superiors back on Earth before he could go ahead with that.
Luthor glanced to the side to see Jason and Gina standing together with the Priestess of Fire, Riyala. The three of them were talking in hushed whispers as well, and Luthor could only wonder what they were discussing.
'Riyala is the highest authority in this world, so if we want to do anything, we'll have to go through her. But she's been closer to Jason than anyone else. If I want to get her to agree, I'll have to convince Jason first.'
Luthor had this thought, and he nodded as he decided that he would talk to Jason about it later, and he turned forward when he heard the king announce,
"We are eternally grateful to the people of Earth for not turning away from us in our time of need, and it is with joy that I announce that I and all the nobles of the world have decided to grant an honorary citizenship to each and every member of the party who arrived to aid us. Our borders will always be open to welcome them as friends. And to the leader of these brave men and women, we grant him our highest title of Dragon Duke and sole Ambassador for all relations between the people of Radagan and the people of Earth."
Luthor felt his eyes widen in shock when he heard this and for a moment, Luthor actually thought that the Whisperstone had given the wrong translation! Was this real!? Luthor had spoken to a lot of nobles last night, so he knew how much of an honor this title was! The title of Dragon Duke was only held by five people in the entire world of Radagan! It was a title that gave you an authority that was only lower than the Priestess of Fire and the King! That meant Jason was now one of the highest-ranking nobles in Radagan!
