Chapter 381: The Dragongod's Blessing

The fact that the King had also given Jason the title of Ambassador on top of his title as Dragon Duke meant that Luthor had been right about needing to talk to Jason before doing anything. If the Dragonborn trusted Jason this much, then it would be impossible to build trade relations with them if Jason wasn't on board! Anything Earth wanted to do with the people of Radagan would have to go through Jason!

There was a resounding roar of applause and cheers from the citizens after the king gave his announcement, and many of them chanted Jason's name like he was some sort of household celebrity! Luthor could even see some kids who were staring at Jason with pure awe in their eyes, and Luthor could tell that the people here loved Jason far more than he would ever understand. There must've been a lot of suffering in this world for them to appreciate their savior so much. And even though Luthor and the other superhumans weren't receiving the same level of love for their actions, Luthor couldn't bring himself to care. He knew that none of this would have been possible without Jason, so he was content with what he had.

Rufus, on the other hand, was not so happy.

"Tch, how come he gets a title and we only get citizenship? This is bullshit. We should at least get some land or something."

Rufus spoke in a low voice so that only Luthor could hear him, and Luthor just scoffed at his words. Luthor could already guess the reason why Rufus didn't like Jason, and Luthor decided he wasn't getting involved in that love triangle, no matter what. Things were already complicated enough between Agiel and Rufus, and they didn't need to make it worse by adding one of the most powerful superhumans in the world into the mix as well!

The Radagan King came towards the superhumans after he was done with his speech, and he shook hands with all of them before he put golden dragon-shaped medals on their chests as a show of thanks for their actions. The superhumans smiled and waved to the people just like they were meant to. Luthor already knew that this was all just a show for the citizens to try to ease their minds. There was a long road to recovery for the people of Radagan, but if the citizens saw the people who saved them being celebrated and thanked like this, then it would increase morale and also calm them mentally. Once Luthor was done receiving his medal and handshake, he turned to see Jason giving the King a sour look from the side. Riyala and Gina were both smiling for some reason, but Jason looked like he was not happy about what the King had announced. Did Jason also not know about becoming an ambassador?

Jason had actually not known about becoming an ambassador. He had only been told that he would be forming an alliance with the people of Radagan, but Jason didn't think that they would take things this far! He wasn't interested in becoming some mouthpiece for Earth. He was far too busy to handle inter-world relationships! But Riyala had told Jason that they weren't going to be burdening him with a lot of work. The title of ambassador was just a show to make the people know that Jason was their close friend and ally, and Jason's title as Dragon Duke would allow him to come and leave Radagan anytime he wanted without needing to ask for permission! Jason rolled his eyes and said he was never going to ask for permission anyway, and the two girls couldn't help but laugh at Jason's tone.

Things had been a little awkward between the three of them at first because of the conversations that they had last night. Jason was still a little surprised by what Gina had told him, and the fact that Gina could tell him something like that meant that she had spoken about it with Riyala already. That meant both women were okay with him being with both of them. It was honestly a little shocking, and part of Jason just didn't know how it would work out. No matter how mature Jason was mentally, he was still only eighteen years old, so there was a part of him that felt almost excited at the idea of having two beautiful women fall in love with him, but the more mature side of him could only think about the future and how easily everything could fall apart if Gina or Riyala ended up becoming jealous of the other person in the relationship.

But when Jason saw how easily Gina and Riyala were able to greet each other and laugh happily when they met up, Jason realized that maybe he was the only one worrying about all this! Jason could tell that both Gina and Riyala were okay with this since they had already spoken about it, and they were willing to try, no matter how insane it sounded! This could end badly for all three of them if they didn't handle it properly, but Jason decided he wouldn't allow that to spoil the mood. Jason went up to join the conversation with the two girls and could see how Riyala's cheeks burned with a heavy blush the moment she set eyes on him! Riyala couldn't even look Jason in the eye, and Jason had to smile and joke about how red her face was before the three of them fell into comfortable laughter.

Jason stood calmly and watched as Riyala and Gina spoke about various things. There was a small sense of distance between the two girls that hadn't been there before. Jason still remembered how close the two of them had been when they were on Earth. Gina had taken Riyala as her own sister, and they did almost everything together, but now that Riyala had gone through such a major change, their interaction had also changed, and it was almost like they were strangers again. Jason knew it would take a while before they became as familiar with each other as they once were. Riyala told Gina about the awards that the Radagan government was going to be giving the superhumans and Jason, and Gina seemed genuinely excited about Jason becoming an ambassador.

The look on Jason's face when he learned that he was going to be an ambassador was one of immediate distaste, and the two girls laughed at his expression when they saw it. Jason had no intention of becoming an ambassador, but Jason had already agreed to it, so he couldn't really back out now that they had gone this far. Riyala promised Jason that it wasn't that big of a deal, so Jason easily shrugged it off. But the real shock had come when Gina gave Riyala the news that Jason had asked her to marry him! Riyala's entire face lit up at the news, and for the first time in a long time, Riyala suddenly reverted back to being a regular teenage girl as she released a squeal that made everyone on the platform turn to her in surprise! Jason chuckled as he saw Riyala's cheeks redden in embarrassment, and she quickly apologized and tried to compose herself! Gina couldn't stop smiling in excitement, and Riyla suddenly said something that surprised them both.

"Let me bless your union in the Ashenvalley Forest."

Jason's brow rose in surprise, and he asked Riyala what she meant by "blessing" them. Riyala smiled at him and explained that as the Priestess of Fire, she had the ability to grant blessings for marriages in Radagan. Being blessed by the Priestess meant that the dragon gods themselves would grant you their blessing, and whatever happens in the future, your marriage would certainly succeed. Jason was surprised that Riyala was willing to do something like that. Wasn't this meant to be something unique to the Dragonborn? Neither Jason nor Gina was Dragonborn, so would the dragon gods even bless them? Riyala shook her head and spoke with a smile.

"The dragon gods grant their blessings to all those who are worthy of them. You saved our people, and you both gave us our freedom from the Sovereign. If anyone is worthy of receiving the blessing of the dragon gods, then it would be you. I would be honored to bless your union."
