The Pharynx's power suddenly began to skyrocket way past what it had been before! It grew in size and weight, and its tentacles grew so long that Gina had to duck and manoeuvre the Skyking out of the way so they wouldn't be caught by its wild swings! The Sovereign tried to attack the beast, but he was easily crushed by one of the Pharynx's tentacles, and the Pharynx swung its arm towards Trigon and slapped it out of the sky before it could unleash its flaming breath! The Pharynx looked down on the battlefield where the Lynx were fighting against the humans from Varigan, and let out a roar as it opened its dark mouth! A spark of red light shone across the battlefield before the Pharynx suddenly unleashed a massive wave of mana that slammed into the middle of the battlefield!

BOOOMM!!!

Those who were directly caught by the attack were immediately vaporised to ashes, and those who were caught in the sonic wave from the attack ended up getting blown through the air like ragdolls! Screams and shouts echoed through the army as they fled for their lives, and Jason's Pawns immediately formed a large [Stonewall] in front of the army to protect them as the beast unleashed another ranged attack! This time, the Pawns managed to absorb most of the attack, and the Stonewall skill kicked in and erased 50% of the attack! But even at 50%, the attack was still strong enough to kill all the Pawns that stood in its way, and Jason got notifications announcing that he had lost two hundred and fifty Pawns at once! Jason immediately unleashed his mana!

DOON!

The entire battlefield seemed to pause again as Jason's mana surged to life and the large Pharynx switched its attention from the fighters on the ground and looked up at Jason! Jason was standing on Ragnar's back and looking down on the Pharynx with complete impassivity, and the Pharynx let out a loud screech as it shot its tentacles up at Jason to try and capture him! Jason immediately jumped off Ragnar's back and flew down towards the Pharynx! Jason rolled through the air and dodged around one of its tentacles, and then he grabbed another tentacle and flipped over it as he slid down towards the beast's face! Jason had been hoping that he could allow his subordinates to deal with this beast so they would gain some experience and level up their hierarchies, but from what Jason had seen, the beast was just too much for them to handle on their own, and if he left things like this, then there would be too many casualties!

'I'll have to kill it in one hit. Anything more would cause too much damage.'

Jason reached to the side and grabbed the hilt of the [Death's Mirage] out of his Alternate Dimension, and it was almost as if the Pharynx could literally sense the danger that was present in that hilt the moment it laid eyes on it! The Pharynx opened its wide mouth to reveal jagged teeth and a deep, obsidian darkness within, and Jason saw the darkness spark with a red light as the Pharynx charged up an attack! Jason was still flying down towards the monster! His long coat was flapping erratically around him, and his longer hair danced through the air! His eyes were narrowed into a glare of concentration, and Jason pulled his hand back at the same moment that the beast unleashed its attack!

PHWOOM!!

The ray of energy shot towards Jason like a beam of pure destruction, but Jason didn't even pay it any attention! This was the first time that Jason would be using the Death's Mirage for something so large, so Jason decided that just this once, he wasn't going to hold back at all! Jason poured more than a million points of mana into the Death's Mirage, and he swung his sword forward like an executioner's blade!

BOOOMMM!!

The Death's Mirage slammed into the ray of energy, and the sky suddenly echoed with a deafening clap as the Death's Mirage split the energy right down the middle! The Death's Mirage continued onwards past the energy, and the Pharynx let out a terrified screech as it felt its attack getting pushed back! The Pharynx quickly tried ot bring its arm forward to defend itself, but all its efforts were futile as the purple sword came down with a vengeance and tore through its body!

SLASH!

KA-BOOOM!!!!

An explosion larger than anyone could even comprehend suddenly erupted across the valley! A massive 'V' tore its way through the sky along the line that Jason had cut, and all the fighters on the ground had to hold on for dear life as they were picked off the ground and thrown about by the attack! To Jason, all of this had happened very slowly; he had seen the ray of light, and he had also seen his sword cutting into the Pharynx, but to the humans of Varigan, everything had happened in a single instant! At one moment, Jason was flying down towards the Pharynx, and at the next moment, they were being thrown about by an explosion! The helicopters that had been watching in the sky were pushed out of the valley, and many of them crashed to the ground from the shockwave. The only thing that saved the soldiers and mecha fighters on the ground from being eviscerated were the hundreds of Pawns that stood in front of them and activated their [Stonewall] skill! If not for that, then every single person there would've been killed by that attack!

This continued for a few more seconds, and it wasn't until things started to calm down that Gina finally began moving closer and released some wind to clear the battlefield. The large dust cloud picked up by the attack slowly began to clear out to reveal what had happened, and the entire valley remained in a state of disbelieving silence at the scene that greeted them. Jason was standing on the decapitated body of the large Pharynx with green blood spilling all around him, but even though that was shocking, it wasn't what had moved them to silence. Instead, what they were all staring at was the large 'V'-shaped scar that Jason's attack had literally torn into the ground! The scar was like a deep valley that went on for miles, far into the horizon, and expanded for as far as the eye could see on either side! It was so deep that you could easily fit multiple skyscrapers into it, and the inside was black and charred from the massive explosion! That one attack from Jason had literally reshaped the geography of this entire world!

Jason glanced at his system after the attack, and he frowned when he only saw some notifications telling him that he got Kill Points! Jason released a burst of mana to try to revive the Pharynx, but he just clicked his tongue in irritation! It turns out that Jason had been right about these monsters all along. Even though they were moving and acting like real creatures, they were still not real! They were artificial creatures that had been created by someone, and that meant that Jason could only gain Kill Points from them! But now that Jason had killed the Pharynx, a sudden chain reaction travelled through the entire battlefield, and the Varigans watched in shock as the Lynx that they had been fighting suddenly began to fall to the ground and die! All the Lynx were part of the Pharynx, and the Pharynx had been acting like the battery that kept them all alive! But now that it was dead, there was no more energy left for them to survive on, and they immediately lost all their function!

The battlefield remained extremely silent for a long time, and most of the Varigans couldn't even bring up any words or reactions to what had happened. It was an unbelievable situation! There were close to two hundred thousand soldiers standing on that battlefield, and they were all covered in dirt, grime, and blood, but not a single one of them could take their eyes off Jason! Jason had really killed the Pharynx! The monster that they had been terrified of for so long had been taken down in less than an hour by a single man! The front compartments of the large Zen Mechas slowly opened up and allowed the teenage pilots to lean out and to take in a tired breath of fresh air! But even the teenagers that would usually be extremely excited after winning a battle couldn't help but stare at Jason in awe and pure shock!

At that moment, they all realised that this was no human. Jason might look like them and talk like them, but there was no way this was a human. This man was on the same level as the great gods that they had named their settlements after. He was on the same level as the warriors of old who could utilise great magic and powers beyond human comprehension. It was so obvious that not a single person even thought to doubt it. They all knew that they were in the presence of a god.
