I tilted my head at Ira, "You intend to become a god?"

She nodded, seemingly proud of herself, "That's right. Once I ascend to Godhood, I will overthrow the other Gods and become the new God of this World and lift all the restrictions on the World. Isn't that the best plan?!"

"Err… Not really… That's like trading one tyrant for another, wouldn't it? Like… You having absolute power would also corrupt you absolutely…"

She huffed, "I won't be like those Gods who would restrict the advancement of this World. I will be different."

"I'm pretty sure that's what all tyrants would say when they overthrow the previous regime. At least the current pantheon has a group of them who would keep each other in check. You are asking for absolute power so who would be the one to keep you in check?"

She tapped her cheek as if to consider my question for a moment before she snapped her umbrella shut to point it at me.

"I know, how about you? You can ascend to Godhood with me and you can keep me in check~"

I blinked at her for a good few seconds as I tried to comprehend what she just said before I pointed at myself, "Me? Wait… Why? I don't understand… Don't you have other people you trust or something? Didn't you start a group who obeys you?"

She scoffed, "Anyone who actually decides to follow me is either desperate or crazy. Do you think that I would trust them to be able to keep me in check?"

Wait… She knows that the people who follow her are basically crazy… Does she not think of the same thing about herself?

I didn't want to say that out loud but obviously my girls did not have any qualms about saying the quiet part out loud themselves.

"Don't you think that you might also be crazy if only the crazy and desperate people follow you?" Lisa pointed out.

I thought Ira would just ignore her but surprisingly, she actually responded by turning to ask, "Do all of you follow Aster?"

She then gestured to me, "Are all of you just like her? Pretty sure none of you are as charming and sexy like she is."

Before I could correct them though, Emilia pointed a finger at her, "Your argument does not help you though. Aster is way more charming and sexier than us and we still follow her. Which means that you are more crazy and desperate than your followers!"

Ira shrugged, "Perhaps I am. But what does that matter?"

"If you're crazy, doesn't that mean that whatever you're trying to do is also crazy? So shouldn't you just stop?" Delmare argued.

Ira opened her umbrella once again and looked up at the ceiling wistfully, "Crazy? Who are the ones who decide who is crazy or not? Right now, going against the Gods would certainly be considered crazy. Who would be sane enough to try and fight the Gods? But once I overthrow them, the crazy ones would be the people who claim that it was impossible for me to do it. So why should I care if they think I'm crazy?"

Woman… You're not making any sense right now… You literally complained that you can't rely on your followers to keep you in check because they're crazy and you just admitted that you are even crazier than they are…

Well, whatever… I already know that she's not exactly completely sane to begin with so there's no point trying to argue with her about that.

"Are you serious about wanting me to be the person who keeps you in check?" I asked.

She turned back to me, "I think it would be interesting if you were to accept it, so yes. There's no one else that comes to mind that I think would be interesting enough to take such a role~"

So she's only offering me that position because she thought it was interesting…

"And what if I tell you that you should just stop your plans of overthrowing the Gods?" I asked.

The moment those words left my mouth, the atmosphere around her suddenly changed and her eyes seemed to glow red.

"Why… Why would you even say something like that? Do you not understand? Or are you just one of their pawns?"

I paused for a moment, considering if I should just tell the truth because it suddenly felt like she might attack me if I said the wrong thing here.

The only problem was that I don't even know what she might consider was 'wrong'.

Screw it… I suppose I might as well just tell the truth and deal with the consequences. If she can't handle what I have to say now, then she would definitely not like what I would do in the future anyway.

I sucked in a breath, "I like the current gods. They have done me no wrong and I like this World that they have created. I want to explore and live in it and what you are trying to do is to flip everything around and destroy this World that they have made. I would prefer that you did not do that."

I was fully prepared for her to start raging or cursing at me. Heck, I was even anticipating for her to just attack me or something but she just stayed where she was and continued to stare at me with her unblinking gaze.

I returned her gaze without looking away, more so because that would allow me to react in case she attacked me.

As suddenly as she had changed, the pressure around her suddenly disappeared and she returned to smiling at me, "Ho… I see now~ You really are interesting, Aster~ I see that you certainly are worthy of my interest~ I suppose I should have some change of plans then."

I blinked, "Eh? So… Are you really going to stop trying to overthrow the gods?"

She turned her back on me and walked a few steps away.

I thought she would just leave without answering my question but she stopped after moving a short distance away to half turn to look at me.

"Of course not… I'm just going to make sure to prove to you that these Gods are not worthy at all~"

Before I could say anything else, she disappeared like an illusion and the next thing I knew, I was standing back in the campsite that we had set up for the night.
