Ira stretched out her hand to me, "Ascend to Godhood with me, Aster! You are the only one I approve to be a God with me!"
I blinked at her, "Umm… No thanks."
She stared at me for a good long minute before she finally realised I had rejected her.
"Wh… What? Why? I don't understand… Why not?"
I scratched my cheek, "I just don't have an interest in becoming a god?"
"Why not? It's Godhood! Who would say no to that?"
"Err… Me I guess?"
My girls also nodded along to show that they also felt the same.
Ira frowned, "You are actually serious about this… I had thought you might be joking but you really have no interest in attaining Godhood?"
I shook my head, "Not at all."
"Why?"
"I mean… I told you this before already haven't I? I'm happy where I am right now and I don't really wish for more than what I already have. Plus, being a god feels pretty restrictive to me…"
"A God? Restrictive? Isn't the point of being a God freeing yourself from restrictions of mortality? You literally gain control over this World, don't you? How can it be restrictive?"
I gestured at her, "Aren't you overthrowing the gods right now because they don't meet your expectations? Once you obtained godhood, there would be an expectation placed on you on how you should act and what you can and cannot do. If you don't live up to those expectations, you would get people trying to overthrow you."
"Doesn't that apply to everyone and not just Gods?"
"Yeah, but as a god, you're also subjected to the expectations from strangers and people you would never meet. For me, I only need to worry about the people around me and more importantly, I only actually need to worry about the opinions of my lovers. Anyone else who doesn't approve of what I'm doing can go screw themselves. But if I was a god, then I have to care about the opinions of way more people."
Ira scoffed, "Why should you? Anyone who tries to have an opinion about you, you can just kill them!"
I narrowed my eyes at her, "You do realise you are one of those people who are planning to overthrow the gods and by your own logic, they should be killing you for trying to overthrow them?"
She huffed, "I'm different. I am not flawed like those Gods."
Wow, she really just went ahead to say that huh… I want to say that she's shameless but I think she actually genuinely believes what she said to be true so I would say that she's delusional instead.
Scratch that, she's just crazy.
I sighed, "Anyway, I don't want to become a god because it'll give me much more trouble than its worth. Also… As I had told you before, I like the current gods and don't want to replace them."
She tilted her head, "You really see no problems with them? Despite what they have done to this World?"
"I don't see anything they did wrong? You claim that they have limited this World somehow? But we've been making technological advancements for the past few years and nothing happened to us? So I don't see anything that would give me a reason to be upset at them?"
She bit down on her finger, "How? This makes no sense… Why would this happen? None of this makes sense!"
She looked like she was going to have a mental breakdown so I decided to try and change the topic.
"Ahem… Well… Putting all that aside for now… Didn't you pull me here for another reason? I think the tea is getting cold."
She snapped out of her thoughts and her face lit up once again, "Ah! Of course! How could I even forget?! We're here for tea!!"
She took a seat across from me and I finally could take stock of all the sweets that were laid out in front of me.
Well… All things considered, I have to say that the sweets that were prepared for this 'tea time' actually looked pretty good.
She leaned on the table and grinned at me, "Go on~ I prepared all of these for the both of us~"
I picked up the fork and I started with the first cake that was directly in front of me, which just happened to be a chocolate fudge cake.
Everyone was watching me place the bite of the cake into my mouth for some reason.
The cake hit my tongue and I was instantly engulfed with the sweetness of the cake.
Mmmmm!! This one is so good!!! The chocolate really just melts in your mouth and covers the sponge cake with its sweetness! The chocolate itself isn't too sweet or too bitter either and it did not stick to my teeth or the roof of my mouth when I chewed on it!
I then started stuffing the rest of the other sweets into my mouth, enjoying the taste of each sweets that was arrayed in front of me.
I have to give it to the owners of this cafe as their sweets really were good!
I mean… It's certainly not the best I have ever tasted but they're still good! I have to take a note of where this cafe is located because I would not mind coming back here again for more!
Om nom nom nom~
Mmm~ Even the tea is perfectly blended and a great taste cleanser for the next sweet that I would stuff in my mouth.
Ahhhh~ Everything is so good~
I swallowed the last piece of sweet in my mouth and leaned back in my seat, basking in the afterglow of the sweets.
Katsuki came forward to wipe my mouth and I finally realised that everyone else was still staring at me, Ira included.
What? Did they want some of the sweets too? Well, they should have told me! And I'm pretty sure Ira also had some for herself so why does she look like she didn't even have a single bite of her own sweets?
I thought she might start complaining to me but for the first time since I've met her, she actually took the initiative and turned to my girls to initiate a conversation.
"Is Aster… Always like this?" She asked.
All of my girls nodded their heads.
Like what? What are they talking about? Is she referring to the fact that I really like sweets? I thought I already made that known to her already? Was I not obvious enough about it?
She then slowly stood up from her seat, pausing to look up at the ceiling for some reason before turning back to me.
"I will… See you soon, Aster. No… Perhaps not so soon. I think… I think I understand why you might think the way you do now… I will make sure to ask you before I have tea with you again."
She then walked out of the store like nothing happened and we were just left inside the cafe with no one else besides us, the owners having already fled the scene after we freed them and compensated them for the troubles earlier.
At least the portal that Ira pulled me through was still here so we cleaned up the place before heading through the portal to return to our room.
Oh, and I figured that the cafe was somewhere within the Elhiria Republic since I realised the cafe was carved out of a tree and there were several unrelated Trasifs walking around outside the cafe, none of them even remotely aware of what had transpired inside this cafe.
The only problem was that I wasn't sure where exactly within the Elhiria Republic this was but both Emilia and Katsuki assured me that they would be able to find it later.
Returning to our room in the inn again, the portal closed after all of us passed through it.
I turned back to my girls, "So… That happened…"
Lisa crossed her arms, "I still think that she still owes us for interrupting our sexy time!"
That reminds me…
"I'm surprised you didn't stop her, Eins…" I pointed out, looking at my Shadow Guard who still remained where she was where I left her.
She tilted her head at me, "Did Master want us to stop you from getting sweets?"
"You knew that she was going to give me sweets? How?"
"Because she had already intended to invite you out for a tea party, Master. And there was the scent of sweets coming from the portal where she had pulled you through. Additionally, she did say that it was time for tea as well. Should we have stopped her?"
Hmm… Actually, I guess I'm fine with them not stopping her because I might not have gotten the sweets if they did.
"Well… I guess not… But should I be worried about her?"
Emilia tilted her head, "Why should we? If you really want to get rid of her, Boss. You could."
I suppose that's true as well… Oh well, where were we? We were still in the middle of sexytime, weren't we?
