BOOM!

A large explosion echoed through the whole area covering the area in a large smoke cloud the covered both their eyesight.

The smoke began to subside and revealed their battered and bruised bodies, blood was trailing down Duke's nose and Azazel had a cut on his lip.

"Let's end this!"

Azazel roared as he charged at Duke without giving him a time to even try and make a counter.

"Black Silence."

He created a zone where sound and spellcasting were suppressed which made Duke not be able to counter.

He then landed a punch on Duke's chest, "Sovereign Descent!" A the punch landed along with the physical strike and defense boost he was flung across the arena and landed against the wall.

Duke fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious leaving Azazel as the winner of the first sparring match.

"Seems like my son beat yours huh, Caelum." Vaelthos said with a grin.

Caelum didn't respond at first and just watched the arena, especially at the area where Duke was unconscious.

"Your son isn't unsheathed either, Vaelthos." He said calmly. "Besides I still have more children."

"Tch, your no fun." Vaelthos responded.

The rest of the powerhouses were quiet besides the elven royal family, since their only daughter was up next.

"Good luck sweetie," This was the Elf Queen, Lythrienne. "If you get hurt I'll heal you right up okay?~"

"Yes mother, I'll do my best." Katherine responded.

"Do your best, Katherine." Eldarion said.

Katherine nodded at her father's words and went towards the arena.

Human Kingdom royal family:

Selena stood up from her seat after seeing her twin brother loose the match. "Hmph, seems like I have to win this next match Duke."

"Good luck, Selena!" Her mother, Elowen cheered her on.

"Do your best little sister." Katie also cheered.

Caelum just gave her a knowing nod and sent her off with a smile.

"I know you'll win this, Selena." Lucien also reassured her.

Cedric was the only one who didn't cheer her on. His personality was well known in the family, he didn't like his other siblings that much. Especially Lucien.

"Don't embarrass us like that twin of yours." Cedric said coldly.

Everyone heard what he said but they didn't say anything, they just wanted to see how will Selena react.

"Of course, at least he lost to the demon prince. Unlike you older brother." Selena said with a smirk, and then she went out the room.

Cedric's mouth twitched a bit before return to his calm demeanour.

This was his scar, he once lost in a match in the academy against a commoner.

This was the biggest blow to his pride, especially since he thought that commoners were beneath the nobles.

At The Arena.

Katherine and Selena were standing ten meters away from each other.

"Begin"

Selena was the one who attacked first.

"Thunder Step."

Lightning crackled around her body as she moved, she left afterimages that confused Katherine on when should would strike.

"Ancient Grove Manifestation."

Before Selena could strike, she summoned a spectral forest guardian to protect herself with.

The guardian summoned a wall of vines to that could cover them and act as a defensive wall.

"Rail Pierce."

She thrust her sword against the wall of vines and launched am ultra-condensed lightning thrust completely destroying the wall.

She didn't waste time and moved and attacked the guardian, her sword was charged with lightning as she cleaved through the guardian.

Selena landed back on the arena ground, her eyes were completely locked on Katherine.

"Thunder Step."

Her body once again was charged with lightning, she blitzed through the arena and charged towards the elven princess.

Selena raised her sword and made a vertical cut, lightning crackled as a lightning arc was sent towards the elven princess.

"Tidal Suppression."

Katherine summoned heavy water pressure that slowed down Selena's actions, and her body then dissolved into mist for a brief moment allowing the attack to pass through her.

"Mist step."

And now it was time for her counterattack, she made a gun pose using her fingers and fired a light beam right towards Selena.

"Verdict Ray."

Lightning started crackling all over Sean's body, her hair stood upright and turned white. Her eye color also changed into a blinding shade of white.

"Thunderlord state."

Her legs and arms were and eyes were covered and enhanced with lightning allowing for a boost in speed, attack and perfection.

In that moment she blitzed through the arena and delivered a hard punch directly on Katherine's chest.

BOOM!

The attack sent her hurling right across the arena but Selena didn't stop there, she disappeared from her area and reappeared in an instant directly above Katherine.

She slammed her hard on her back using both arms and launched her down towards the arena floor.

Selena landed safely on the ground but she started to breath a bit heavily, it shows how much it takes for her to hold on to this form.

Katherine came out the rubble and smoke, she was battered and bruised.

"Healing Current."

She formed a stream of water that healed some of her injuries, the scratches all on her body gradually faded.

"Solar Ascendance."

Her light affinity temporarily elevated causing her whole body to emit a bright light, it seemed like her body was completely made of of light.

Both combatants looked at each over for a few seconds before they attacked each other.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

That's the only thing you could hear in the arena, all of them used their affinities to the fullest and entered a temporary state of affinity evolution.

Affinity evolution is using your affinity to the point you become one with it, at the first stages your can partially turn your body into that affinity.

With lightning parts of your body like the arms and legs would turn into pure lightning, increasing your speed and attack power tremendously to be like lightning itself.

And right now it was a battle between light vs lightning, one the other had you have an opponent who is battling at the speed of light but still heavily inferior due to their rank and understanding of the light element.

And the other opponent is moving at the speed of lighting but still lacks perception and flexibility, often moving at a straight line and having predictable consistent attacks.

But neither wether giving up, they were battling as if their lives depended on it.

Selena tried to land a right hook of death, but Katherine blocked it and parried it to the side.

She then moved in closer and tried to land an uppercut on Selena's jaw.

Selena back stepped allowing her to barely dodge the attack as it brushed against her chin.

She performed three backflips to distance herself from the opponent, and after taking a deep breath charged towards her again.

She appeared right Infront of Katherine and tried to land a punch on her stomach, Katherine saw this and dodged to her left side.

She then was behind Selena and tried to land a hard kick on the back, Selena senses this and leaped forward avoiding the kick.

She then performed two flips before making a backflip and spined in the air landing safely on the ground.

The atmosphere on the field was tense, both of the fighters were giving it their all and none of them seemed tired at all.

They both smiled at each other before they charged at each other again.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

They were both attacking each other, delivering punches and kicks at each other.

Some of the attacks connected while the other and they dodged and blocked other attacks.

BOOM!

They clashed for one final time before they both slammed against the arena creating craters.

Smoke was forming on each of their respective craters as both of them groaned while standing up.

"Let's finish this." Selena said.

"Yeah, this will be my final attack." Katherine responded.

"Overcharge."

Her mana started to increased drastically and it reached its peak, her arms and legs turned into pure white now.

"Judgment Bolt."

She jumped towards the sky and condensed a large lightning spear in the sky.

"Luminous Guard."

A small barrier of light appear around her body that would be able to deflect some attacks.

"Verdict Ray."

She launched a light beam towards Selena and both attacks connected with each other.

BOOM!

An explosion occured that shook the whole arena, the whole area temporarily turned white due to the intensity of the attack.

Katherine landed directly on the ground with a loud thud creating a small crater, her body had steam coming out of it and she was unconscious.

Selena landed on the arena as well but she was on one knee, she said as breathing heavily and her face was pale.

But she was still standing meaning that she was the winner of this sparring match.

"Winner: Selena von Celestine."

She was the winner of the sparring match, she also fainted after she was declared the winner.
