Adam was shocked, to think that's what happened. He had read that someone who looked like a human saved the world tree but to think it was his mother.

And it came with a heavy price, and that was the loss of her heart.

He couldn't help but feel proud to be her son.

Valerie started walking closer to Adam and tightly embraced him in her arms while caressing his head.

"I really wanted to raise you on my own, teach you all sorts of things. Love you like my own mother loved me, and watch you grow up into a strong man."

"But alas it seems fate had other plans."

Valerie's body started to fade away, it turned into faint obsidian particles that could disappear at any moment.

"Ah, it seems like time's up."

"Mother what's happening?" Adam asked with concern, he was on the verge of tears.

"I expended the last of my strength just for this moment, so I can be able to talk to you like this."

"And it seems like that's is up."

"M-mom please..."

"I'm sorry Adam..."

"Mom please don't leave!!"

Adam was screaming for his mother no to disappear but it was already too late, she was dissolving into obsidian particles and her form her already become transparent.

He tried to grasp her but he only grabbed air, her form was already disappearing.

"...my... inheritance... my emotions... my will... i... entrust them to you...My child—!"

"NOOOOOOOO!"

And those were the last words she said before disappearing completely, the whole plain she created started to crumble away.

Adam was left crying out on the ground while his mother and the plain she created faded away, he caught her glimpse of his mother smile and with a lingering whisper:

"I love you Adam, and happy birthday my child"

Adam was back at the chamber, his eyes were still filled with tears and the was a lingering silence in the air.

He stood there for a while hour, he didn't move, didn't even flinch.

His mind still processed everything that just happened, he could still feel his mother's warmth.

He could still hear her voice, he could still feel here touch, but she was no longer there.

"Mother..." He whispered.

He clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles turned white that blood started to drip from it, his mana ran wild like a storm.

His whole body gradually started to transform his tail appeared his wings started to spread, horns were growing on his forehead.

And his mana surged so high that it started to alert people in the area.

Meanwhile

Veyra was busy finishing of the cultists in the area with the rest of the team.

Arlen was also with her dealing with the aftermath.

That's when they felt the large spike in mana coming from a certain area.

"This mana..." Veyra muttered.

"It's coming from where the rookie is!" Arlen exclaimed as she started rushing to the area with full speed.

Veyra also followed her. "I leave the rest you, I'll be back!" She said, her voice was filled with urgency.

"Yes Guildmaster!"

Both Veyra and Arlen were rushing towards Adam's location with haste.

Temporary Guild Outpost

"Commander! Large mana readings detected in Area B!"

"Is it the cultists?" Darian asked.

"No! This is different, the mana is pure and it's rising as we speak!"

"Area B, that's where Adam is." He muttered.

He then grabbed his coat and put it on and started rushing towards the area as well.

"It can't be helped, everyone half operations for now. We're heading to Area B now!"

"Yes Commander!"

Back To The Chamber.

"Mother..." Adam muttered under his breath.

His mana was still surging it was still growing, he almost fully transformed into a full dragon when something stopped him.

It was his mother's lingering touch, the necklace wrapped around him glowed as soul emerged from him that embraced him.

His eyes were filled with tears, he was in pain, not the physical kind but it was emotional.

It is that kind of pain when you finally found something you've lost only to loose it again.

ROOOOARRRRRRR!!!!

Adam let out a painful roar coming deep from within his being, this roar shaked the whole forest and chamber until—!

BOOOOM!

A large explosion took place that blew the whole chamber into nothing.

A large smoke cloud could be seen from a far and this made the rest of them increase their speed thinking something bad had happened.

"Adam!" A voice cried out to him.

"Rookie!"

When the smoke dispersed a large crater was seen where the chamber was seen, and a stone coffin encased in multiple seals was near him.

It remained unscathed even when the whole explosion took place, Adam made sure he didn't accidentally destroy it in his rage.

"Mother... I swear... i'll find that bastard."

"I'll rip him to shreds over and over again!"

"I vow I'll destroy all of them!"

"My name is Adam von Athelion!"

The whole world seemed to hum in response to his will and his name as if it was accepting his declaration.

[Ding!]

Elsewhere In The Dragon Domain

A large majestic dragon was sleeping in its throne, it was filled with countless treasures and artifacts and it was sleeping soundly until something stirred it awake.

It opened one of its eyes and a single tear fell down.
