Adam was in disbelief, the person who was standing before him had already looked familiar.

It was like it was a home that he long lost, somewhere he belonged, he didn't expect that this was his mother.

It took a whole hour for Adam to finally calm down, even though he received his past life's memories 9 months ago.

He still wanted the longing of a family, everything was way to familiar with his past life.

The absence of a family, all the hardships and struggle.

All of it was the same as what he experienced in his first life, but now something else changed.

He had a mother, someone who would take care of him, someone who would love him unconditionally.

But even if she was here, he had lot's of questions that he wanted to asked her.

Like why did you leave? Where have you been? Why didn't you try to find me?

Valerie saw this a showed a small smile.

"I know you have a lot of questions, but first sit and tell me how your life has been."

She said while summoning two chairs and a table, the table was filled with snacks and tea.

Adam has been telling him mother how life has been for him, starting from how he was being treated in the dragonis duchy and also to how things have been like in the academy.

Valerie has been listening to it intently and she had a smile on her face when she heard how his life has been and also how he managed to push through his struggles.

"I see, so that's what happened." She said while rubbing her chin.

"I always knew that Seraphine wouldn't like it if you stayed in that place, but I didn't expect your father to be so indifferent even if our union was just scripted."

"Huh? Scripted? What do you mean?"

Valerie did not say anything for a moment and made a huge sigh:

"It seems like it's time I tell you about my life, about what you are and also your role in this life."

"And it seems like you managed to become a full blooded dragon now with that mysterious power of yours, but that's a good thing."

"Like I said my name is Valerie von Athelion and I'm also the granddaughter of the current Dragon Emperor."

Adam's whole world was turned upside down, to think his mother had such a deep background he couldn't believe it.

"Yeah I know this is shocking but just listen to the whole story and you'll understand."

Adam nodded.

"As you now dragons can't directly interfere with the activities of humans, demons and elves. The only exception is when there is a war that will threaten the whole world."

"I haven't seen the first war, but I partook in the 3rd war when the calamities have been sealed and we were dealing with the lingering affects of the world."

"As the granddaughter of the current Dragon Emperor I was set to inherit his throne when my parents have died during the second war."

"I didn't feel any pressure with that to be honest and I was actually proud to be able to lead the dragons to prosperity."

"But not everything goes according to your wishes."

"What do you mean?" Adam asked her, his eyes were filled with curiosity.

Valerie looked at her with a sad, weak smile and a face filled with pain.

"Mother?"

She didn't say anything but just showed her the place where her heart should be, there was a large hole that filled the entire area.

"As you know a Dragon heart is the most valuable thing in the world, wether your a demon, elf, dwarf or human. Having a dragon heart means you'll have strength beyond your imaginations or you'll be able to craft a weapon that can be able to wield a dragon's power."

"During the third war while I was fighting the lingering affects of the outer gods, Kyrexis was trying it's best to destroy the world tree."

"I acted in order to save it, at that time I took on a human form to avoid my identity from being seen but that failed."

"The person who was tasked with destroying the world tree was an Outer Gods Avatar/Apostle. They were able to sense that I was a dragon with the royal lineage, and had the bloodline of a primordial."

"Saving the world tree took a lot of effort and mana, while the elves were busy fighting Kyrexis and it's forces, I expended a lot of my mana to defeat 'him' and also using that mana to save the world tree."

"And during my weakened state, 'he' took the chance to attack him. He took out my heart which left me severely weakened and in a bad state, he wanted to use my heart as a catalyst to summon his god but I couldn't let that happen."

"So I used every ounce of mana I had in my body to severely injure him during the summoning process, this sent a backlash that resulting in a massive explosion."

"We both nearly died but thanks to my grandfather's intervention I was able to survive, but the damage has already been done."

"I lost my heart during the explosion only a mere fragment of it was left, and I was left with just a few years to live."

"As punishment for directly interfering, the council of elders banished to the mortal world to spend the rest of my years there."

"But my grandfather couldn't bear to see me suffer so he sent me to the Dragonis family, the only family that had the bloodline of dragons even if it was faint."
