Reborn as the bastard son of a Duke

Chapter 84: Inter-Racial Competition (Envoys Arrive)

The INTER-RACIAL COMPETITION COMMENCES

Once more after so many long years, the inter-racial competition is starting to commence.

The last time this was hosted was in the Dwarven Kingdom and this time it's happening in the human domain.

And the representatives of the other major races were now arriving:

1. Elves – They are masters of elemental precision and also long-range combat, while being skilled hunters.

2. Demonkin – They have high physical powers and high mana density, they are both brutal and powerful.

3. Dwarves– They are legendary craftsmen and runemasters, most of the weapons that don't come from gates or dungeons come from them.

4. Dragons – They rarely appear in their humanoid forms, and their apex combatants and favoured by the gods.

Each race was allowed to come with their most skilled young generations and two elite guards.

It was going to be those envoys that would be competing in the tournaments, this was a test of strength between each race and also a way to solidify their peace.

Silford Academy was the one chosen to be hosting this event, this was both a miracle and also a curse.

At the time this was being announced, everyone in the academy was celebrating.

And now?

The staff are stressed so much that veins were popping out their heads.

The students were being trained until they collapsed.

And the security banners were being reinforced, everyone was working overtime.

And the cultists that were hiding in the shadows, were now preparing for the one moment were chaos would be the greatest.

The inter-racial competition wasn't just tradition that came after the wars ended.

It was also bait.

Centuries ago, when the world was being devasted by the SS-rank monsters. One of them being the most noticeable:

The Astral Devourer, a being from the old war who grew stronger each time it devoured other creatures. It almost reached the Rank of SSS-rank, the rank that only 5 monsters and the Outer Gods Avatars have managed to reach.

And its brood of S-rank offsprings were wreaking havoc. The remnants from the ear were sealed beneath the academy grounds, and the other SS-rank monsters were sealed in the others lands of the other races.

Only the Headmaster, The Vice-Headmaster, The Kingdom's highest ranks and the other races knew the truth.

The Kyrexis cult wanted to awaken those beings again.

And the presence of these powerful foreign races, made their plans way more easier to hide.

THE ELVEN DELEGATION

There was a wave of green mana that was brushing across the skies, it was like a whisper of singing leaves.

Everyone started to look up.

From the horizon, Seven silvery white figured were gliding access the sky standing atop while they were floating in leaf-shaped platforms.

Their movements were sharp, graceful and also synchronized. The trees were bending slightly as if they were bowing.

The Elven delegation has now arrived.

Their leader and his sister stepped forward—tall elven man and woman with flowing pale-gold hair, the woman's hair was braided with crystal leaves while the man's was tied into a ponytail.

Young Master Eryndor Velylis

Race: High Elf

Rank: A-rank Peak

Affinities: Light, Nature, Wind

Lady Katherine Velylis

Race: High Elf

Rank: A-rank Peak

Affinities: Light, Nature, Water

Their gazes were sweeping across the whole academy, they were evaluating evey wall, evey student, and also evey disturbance in the mana density.

They carried themselves with the pride of a race that has considered themselves as the guardians of mana and nature.

Students were whispering.

"Th-their stunning..."

"I heard the prince single-handedly killed a corrupted wyvern."

"Their guards look terrifying—"

Three elves and two guards were standing behind them like pillars.

Leo Slyverin

Race: Elf

Rank: A-rank low

Affinity: Water, Earth

Evelyn Swiftveil

Race: Elf

Rank: A-rank low

Affinity: Nature, Light

Arnold Palmer

Race: Elf

Rank: A-rank low

And two of the guards were standing behind these three:

Lethoras Windveil – A-rank Mid

Affinity: Wind, Illusion

Role: Elite Sentinel

Seren Faylune – A-rank Mid

Affinity: Nature, Water, Light

Role: Healer & Combat Support

All of them were elegant, deadly, and also overwhelmingly composed.

Adam just simply observed them, but something then catched his attention.

Lady Katherine Velylis's gaze was flickering to him for a brief second.

Her expression sharpened.

She sensed something in him but she isn't sure what it was.

THE DEMONKINS ARRIVAL

The sky started to darkness as if a cloud was passing them overhead, but there wasn't a single cloud in the sky.

A rift would tear open in the air, it was dripping with crimson-black mana. And Seven figures stepped out, the ground beneath them was cracking with each step, It's as if the ground was unable to withstand the weight of their presence.

The leader was the one who appeared first with his trusted personal guard and friend:

Azazel Raevor

Race: Archdemon – Royal Lineage

Rank: A-rank Peak

Affinity: Bloodflame, Darkness, Gravity

Serik Balthagor

Race: Highdemon

Rank: A-rank Peak

Affinity: Darkness, Lightning, Water

And Three other demons who were also prodigies in their lands were behind them:

Sylzor Behemoth

Race: lesser demon

Rank: A-rank low

Affinity: Earth

Syvor Marno

Race: Lesser demon

Rank: A-rank low

Affinity: Fire, Water

Brian

Race: Lesser demon

Rank: A-rank low

Affinity: Lightning

The demon prince looked young, perhaps he was seventeen or even eighteen but the curved black demonic horns rising from his head said otherwise.

His crimson eyes were burning with quiet intelligence rather than malice.

His aura was suppressing the students instinctively, the weaker ones would dropped to their knees before they could stop themselves

Behind the other prodigies were his loyal escorts:

Ravira Nightthor – A-rank Mid

Race: Greater Demon

Affinity: Hellfire

Braxus Thornhide – A-rank Mid

Affinity: Earth, Bone Manipulation

The demons have arrived without any subtlety.

The elves were the embodiment of elegance, while the demon's were the embodiment of dominance.

None of them spoke. They just looked around, as if they were evaluating who was worth sparing.

Azazel's gaze then slightly lingered in Adam. A faint smile was touching his lips.

"Hm. Interesting."

That's all he ever said.
