Aaron rubbed his head, feeling troubled now that his identity as a Great Wizard had been exposed.
After a moment of thought, he asked, "Miss Viola, is there any way to make others forget my identity?"
Viola was stunned. Then she replied, "Of course, Lord Aaron. Do you want me to use the Forget Spell on them?"
Aaron nodded.
Viola took out ten mana stones, opened a drawer, and placed them inside.
A flash of bright light swept through the room, and just like that, the atmosphere inside the administrative building returned to normal.
Of course, Viola's private room was unaffected. Now, only Viola and the girl who came with Lord Aaron knew his true identity.
Aaron asked, "Will those people recognize me again?"
Viola shook her head. "The Forget Spell is a Tier 1 spell. It erases a fraction of memory, enough to remove your identity from their minds."
Aaron nodded in understanding.
He continued, "Well, I do need people for my territory. But as Elisa told you, I come from the manaless zone, or the Barren Land, as you call it."
"My territory hasn't been built yet. It's still in the development stage. Elisa can tell you more."
Elisa nodded. "It's just as Lord Aaron said. I've stayed in his territory. There's no wizard knowledge, nothing."
Viola took a deep breath, then said firmly, "Lord Aaron, I'm willing to follow you, if you'll give me your word."
Aaron thought for a moment. "Have you signed any contract with an organization?"
Viola nodded. "I've joined Khanzar's Wizard Organization. But the contract doesn't bind me. I'm free to join other organizations as long as I don't oppose Khanzar's."
Aaron nodded in understanding. Then he asked, "This place must be important, right? It records the identities of people visiting Mosten City."
Viola replied calmly, "Lord Aaron, your understanding of Mosten City is still new. Let me explain."
"We're currently in the outer city. If you ever want to enter the inner city, you'll need a thorough background check and a different identity token."
Aaron asked thoughtfully, "Then what's the value of the token you gave me?"
Viola replied, "The token I gave you is of the highest status. With it, you can shop freely, and many merchants may even offer you discounts."
Aaron paused, then asked, "Is there any way I can obtain knowledge on spells?"
Viola replied without hesitation, "Lord Aaron, Wizard Apprentice-level spells can be found in some shops, you'll need mana stones to buy them."
"Spells of Wizard tier and above are guarded by the Wizard Organizations, Light Academy, and Adventurer Guild."
"The best way to obtain them is through the Adventurer Guild. You can register there, complete tasks, and earn contribution points to redeem for rewards including spells."
Aaron nodded, a look of understanding on his face. "Okay then."
Viola said, "Lord Aaron, if you wish, you can display your tier to the City Lord. He may grant you a territory to develop here, and it might even be better than the Barren Land."
Aaron didn't respond directly. Instead, he asked, "Do undead attacks happen here on the 30th day of each month?"
Viola nodded. "Indeed, they do. But with various mages casting low-tier spells, we can handle them easily. Not to mention the magic towers, with their help, even Tier 5 undead can be dealt with."
Aaron listened, tempted by the idea of staying and exploring the mysteries of the Wizard World. But then he thought of Torvald and the people of Green Village, all waiting for his return.
He shook his head and replied, "No need. I'll continue developing in the Barren World."
He turned to Elisa. "Also, Elisa, do you still want to join my territory?"
Elisa hesitated. She had completed her assessment and earned enough points to redeem Wizard Potion ingredients.
Staying in the Academy wouldn't help her much now. She had considered joining the Adventurer Guild or a Wizard Organization, hoping to earn enough to hire an Alchemist and brew her potion.
She believed she could reach the Wizard Realm by age twenty.
But now, she had another option, joining Lord Aaron's territory.
Despite his limited wizard knowledge, his mastery of spells was terrifying. And she could make a request.
She took a deep breath and said, "Lord Aaron, I'm willing to join your territory. But I want you to help me refine a Wizard Potion within four years."
Aaron felt relieved. "Of course. No problem."
He then looked at Viola. "Since you're joining me, there's something I should tell you."
Viola's heart skipped a beat. "What is it, Lord Aaron?"
Aaron replied, "My wizard knowledge isn't even at the elementary level. Except for Tier 0 spells, I know nothing."
Viola was stunned. She thought he was joking.
But Elisa confirmed, "Respected Wizard Viola, what Lord Aaron said is true. But his Tier 0 spells, every one of them has reached perfection."
Viola fell silent for a few seconds. Then she took a deep breath and said firmly, "Lord Aaron, no need for further explanation. I've decided, I'm willing to work under you."
She paused, then added, "Lord Aaron, would you like to perform a contract summoning ritual? It would formally bind our loyalty to you."
Aaron looked puzzled and asked, "What is a contract ritual?"
Viola was momentarily stunned. It was now clear to her, Lord Aaron's magical knowledge was truly minimal. Even elementary students knew more than he did.
She smiled gently, then explained in a calm tone, "The contract ritual involves drawing a magic circle and summoning a Light Elf."
"Under her gaze, we take a loyalty oath, pledging ourselves to you."
"If we ever violate that oath, we may suffer various forms of magical backlash, even death in extreme cases."
Aaron thought for a moment, then said, "Okay."
This way, he wouldn't have to worry about betrayal. He added, "Do I need to do anything?"
Viola replied, "Please come inside the room."
She led them into her personal chamber, a space infused with faint magical energy. She pointed to a chair and said, "Lord Aaron, please sit there."
Then she turned to Elisa and said, "Elisa, come help me draw the magic circle."
