A few minutes later, Aaron watched the construction of the magic circle with a look of fascination on his face.
The circle was drawn in the shape of a star, with a ring at its center.
He didn't recognize most of the materials used, but he noticed candles placed at the five points of the star each one lit with care.
After lighting the candles, Viola took a deep breath and said, "Lord Aaron, please carefully step into this part of the magic circle."
Aaron followed her instructions, stepping into one of the triangles formed by the star.
Viola and Elisa stood in two opposite triangles facing him.
Then both women began to chant:
"Light! Light! Light! The guiding light of contract, please come forth and oversee our oath."
As they finished speaking, the candlelight dimmed, and the magic circle began to glow and burn.
At the center, a flash of bright light erupted, and from it emerged a small, fairy-like creature.
Aaron was stunned. The fairy looked just like the ones he'd seen in animated shows from his previous life, but this one was real, hovering gracefully in front of him.
Before he could speak, he heard the fairy's voice:
"I, Loa the Fairy, will oversee the oath. Please take your oaths."
Viola and Elisa spoke in solemn unison:
"I, Viola/Elisa, take the oath to follow Lord Aaron and will not betray him in any way. I will be forever loyal. If I ever commit harm, I accept punishment, and in serious offenses, my soul may perish."
Loa was stunned. Such oaths hadn't been heard in ages.
She looked at Aaron, a young man, yet already a Great Wizard.
Shocked, she bowed deeply and said, "Greetings, Respected Lord Great Wizard."
Aaron nodded, still confused by her reverence.
Loa continued, "I, Loa, grant this contract as your grantors have agreed."
She waved her hand, and instantly, they all felt a binding force settle deep within their souls.
As Loa's body flew back into the circle, she vanished into thin air.
Aaron turned to the others and asked, "Well, what shall we do next?"
Elisa replied, "Lord Aaron, shall we go to my house? We can plan further there. Respected Wizard Viola, you're welcome to stay with us too."
Viola thought for a moment and said, "Well… okay."
"Please wait a moment. I need to write my resignation letter first."
She opened the door, walked to the table, and pointed at a feather pen. It immediately began to float in the air and write the letter on its own.
Seeing this, Elisa said, "Lord Aaron, you can use the Mage Hand spell to write as well. It's very easy and convenient. You can even control the handwriting make it beautiful or messy, just with a single thought."
Aaron was stunned. He realized that Mage Hand was indeed a very useful spell.
A few minutes later…
Aaron sat in a carriage, with Elisa and Viola seated opposite him. They were traveling to the East District.
During the ride, Viola explained, "Lord Aaron, Mosten City is huge. The outer and inner cities are divided into four districts East, West, North, and South."
"A small stream runs through the center, dividing the districts equally."
"The city is jointly ruled by four powers:"
- The City Lord from the Moonfire family
- The Adventurer Guild
- The Bloodstone family
- The Light Academy
"They manage the city together. None of them dare to fight for dominance because the city faces monster attacks regularly."
"And with frequent undead invasions, there's no time for power struggles. All four factions are focused on breaking into the Tier 5 realm to stabilize the situation."
Aaron was stunned. "Is Mosten City the only Wizarding City nearby?"
Viola shook her head. "No, Lord Aaron. There are many cities but they're far apart."
"The closest is Bluekris Town a major town that produces the Bluekris drink you had earlier."
"To travel there, you can use a teleportation channel but it costs 100 mana stones. Or you can take a monster ride, which takes about a week."
Aaron was surprised. "Do they have to build territories so far apart?"
Viola replied, "It's not intentional. Mage towers unintentionally draw mana from the surrounding environment, so towns and cities are built far apart to avoid disrupting this absorption."
Aaron nodded, finally understanding the logic behind the city placements.
"Well then… what are training grounds?"
Viola replied immediately, "Training grounds were created as habitable zones to grow monsters, used for developing bloodline wizards."
"Unfortunately, thousands of years ago, an accident occurred, and that led to the creation of the Barren World."
Aaron sensed a deeper mystery in her words. He thought to himself, if he became powerful enough, he would one day explore the forbidden zone of the Savannah Mountain Range.
A few minutes later, the carriage came to a stop. Elisa stepped down first, followed by Viola and Aaron.
Elisa swiftly paid the driver, then turned and said, "Lord Aaron, Respected Wizard Viola, please follow me."
She led them toward a large manor nestled behind a stone wall. Seeing the grand structure, Viola's eyes widened in surprise.
"Elisa, it looks like your family background isn't simple," she remarked.
Elisa smiled and replied, "My grandfather is an Elder of the Adventurer Guild."
Viola was stunned. Then, with a playful grin, she said, "Elisa, how about you call me big sister from now on?"
Elisa blinked, then smiled back. "Okay, big sister."
Aaron, curious, asked, "Is becoming an Elder of the Adventurer Guild difficult?"
Viola took a deep breath and nodded. "Very difficult, Lord Aaron. To become an Elder, you must complete at least ten S-level missions from the Adventurer Guild."
"After that, you must challenge and defeat a five-person A-level adventurer team."
She continued, "S-level missions are extremely dangerous, they usually involve hunting Tier 4 monsters or higher."
"As for an A-level team, it consists of five members: a warrior, an archer, two shield bearers, and a wizard. All of them, except the wizard, are typically at the Great Knight Realm."
Aaron nodded in understanding. "Indeed… that must be difficult."
Even he wasn't sure if he could take on such a team head-on.
