Chapter 112: Basic Mana Recovery Potion 1

Suddenly, Elisa stopped and said, "Sister Viola, I have to go to the Light Academy to submit my task."

Viola waved her hand. "No problem. You can leave, I'll take care of the rest."

Elisa hailed a carriage and headed toward the Southern District, where the Light Academy was located.

Viola returned to the manor, her mind swirling with chaotic thoughts.

She soon found Lord Aaron waiting in the hall, chatting with Miss Emile and Mr. Namek.

Seeing her, Aaron asked, "Viola, have you bought the things?"

Viola nodded. "Of course, Lord Aaron."

At that moment, Emile smiled and said, "Aaron, shall I lead you to the basement?"

Aaron nodded. "Please."

While chatting the previous evening, he had mentioned his intention to make potions, and they had offered him the basement for his work.

A few minutes later…

Aaron stepped into the basement and found it spacious enough to set up a proper experiment table.

He looked around and said, "Thank you, Miss Emile."

Emile smiled. "No problem."

Aaron turned to Viola. "Viola, you can set up the apparatus on the table. We'll need just one for now."

Viola and Emile exchanged a glance, stunned.

From Aaron's words, it sounded like he intended to use multiple setups later.

They knew that alchemy was extremely precise, even a one-second error or a slight temperature mismatch could result in a failed potion or a low-grade brew.

Viola took out the apparatus, which included:

- A conical flask

- A beaker

- A cork with a tube

- A burner * 2

- A weight scale

- A thermometer

- Eight wooden bowls

Aaron said, "Well, it's my first time making a basic mana potion. But I'll guide you both. Please take out your notes, and get ready to write down the important points."

Viola and Emile were stunned again.

They hadn't expected Aaron to teach them alchemy.

Emile was excited, after all, one-on-one guidance in alchemy was rare and valuable.

Viola, however, was puzzled. She knew Aaron's wizard knowledge was elementary level. How could he teach her anything?

Still, she took out her notebook.

Aaron said, "Viola, please give me a set of ingredients."

Viola used Mage Hand to hold her feather pen and notebook, while she retrieved the ingredients:

- Three Blue Leaves

- 10 grams of Blue Butterflies' magic dust

- Ten Blue Berries

- Two Sweet Flowers

Aaron used Mage Hand to place each ingredient into the prepared bowls.

Then he asked, "Viola, how did you prepare the mana potion?"

Viola thought for a moment and replied, "Lord Aaron, I put all the ingredients into the conical flask and heated them at 80°C for ten minutes. The ingredients reacted and released vapor, which was then collected into a test tube."

"But the potion obtained this way turns green and becomes poisonous," Viola admitted. "So I failed in the process."

Aaron turned to Emile. "Miss Emile, what about you? What process did you use?"

Emile nodded.

"I used the same method, Aaron."

She paused, then added, "After refining my hundredth potion, I managed to create one low-grade mana potion. I continued and made a thousand more, but only five were successful. The rest were wasted. Eventually, I gave up."

Aaron frowned slightly. "Did you learn potion-making this way?"

Viola shook her head. "It's recorded in the Mana Potion Making Book published by the Alchemist Association."

Aaron's expression shifted to one of understanding. It was clear now, alchemy was tightly controlled by powerful institutions.

He spoke in a solemn tone, "What I'm about to teach you must not be leaked outside."

Viola and Emile's expressions changed immediately. Emile stood up and said, "Lord Aaron, please wait a moment."

She swiftly left the basement, found Namek, and said, "Guard the basement. No one enters unless it's Elisa. I'll be locking it from the inside, I'm about to learn something important."

Namek nodded solemnly. "Don't worry. I'll guard this place."

Emile returned and closed the door behind her.

Aaron looked at both of them and said, "The steps given by the Alchemist Association for making mana potions are wrong. It's a miracle if you can even make one successfully."

Both women were shocked. The Alchemist Association was a giant, with branches in nearly every city. Even the Dark Faction avoided provoking them.

Aaron continued in a serious tone, "I'll teach you the correct steps to make the Basic Mana Potion. But first, you must understand the ingredients, how to select and prepare them. Otherwise, you'll fail every time."

Viola and Emile were stunned. The official books never mentioned ingredient selection. They suddenly felt they were about to learn something extraordinary.

Both activated Mage Hand, holding their notebooks and feather pens, ready to record.

Aaron began, "Let's start with Blue Leaves. For mana potions, the leaves must be at least one month old. You can check their age by examining the rings on the petiole. Blue plants are easy to identify, this one has two white rings, which means it's two months old."

"For the highest quality potion, you'll need leaves with three white rings, harvested after three months."

Both women were amazed by the detail. They checked the leaves and confirmed Aaron's words, recording everything carefully.

Aaron continued, "Next is the Magic Dust from Blue Butterflies. To test its purity, channel a small amount of mental strength into your fingertips. If the dust is pure, it will gather at your fingertips."

Emile and Viola tried it, and sure enough, the dust clung to their fingers.

Aaron added, "For the highest quality potion, you only need 3 grams of Magic Dust. Any excess will introduce impurities and lower the success rate."

They noted it down diligently.

Aaron continued, "The Blue Berries are ordinary, but they must be cleaned thoroughly, especially the tips. Cut and remove the petiole. Use exactly nine berries for the best results."

"Finally, the Sweet Flower. Most shops sell the dried version, but fresh is always better. For now, we'll use dried ones, just make sure they're not infected with moss or fungus. You'll need three flowers per potion."
