Time passed.
Namek stood guard at the basement door, watching as Elisa came and went, carrying buckets of water back and forth. This routine continued for four hours.
Inside the basement, Elisa, Viola, and Emile were left speechless.
They watched as Aaron operated ten alchemy apparatuses simultaneously, each one moving with precise coordination.
He didn't even stand. Seated calmly in his chair, he used Mage Hand to perform every action, measuring, pouring, heating, stirring, with flawless control.
His mastery over the spell was nothing short of astonishing.
For the past four hours:
- Emile and Elisa focused on preparing the Blue Berries.
- Viola handled the final steps, pouring the potion, adding the Magic Dust, and sealing the vials.
When the last batch was complete, they were stunned once again.
Not a single potion had failed. Each one was a deep blue, with only the faintest trace of impurities.
Aaron turned to Emile. "Miss Emile, how about I leave the selling process to you?"
Emile straightened, her expression solemn. "Lord Aaron, don't worry. Leave it to me. I'll go with Namek to find my father at the Adventurer Guild. With his help, selling them won't be a problem."
"Okay then," Aaron said with a nod.
As Emile and Namek left, he picked up the crystal-clear mana potion, the one without any impurities, and slipped it into his space ring.
Then he turned to Elisa. "Elisa, do you know how to cook?"
Elisa, already exhausted from four hours of work, shook her head quickly. "Nope, Lord Aaron. My mother keeps me far away from the kitchen."
Aaron turned to Viola, who smiled and said, "Lord Aaron, I can cook."
Aaron looked back at Elisa. "Will there be any problem using your kitchen?"
Elisa shook her head. "No problem at all."
Aaron let out a breath of relief. "Then please cook us something to eat."
He followed them out of the basement and settled into a chair in the hall.
Elisa led Viola to the kitchen.
Viola looked around and said enviously, "Hey Elisa, your house even has a fridge. It keeps food fresh for a long time."
Elisa smiled. "My mom bought it. Since my parents are adventurers and my grandfather is the Guild Elder, they're rarely home. So my mom fills the fridge with fruits and ingredients, enough to last two weeks."
Viola nodded in understanding. "Let me cook vegetable stew with bread."
Elisa asked, "Do you need any help, Sister Viola?"
Viola shook her head. "No need. Just help me gather the ingredients and utensils."
Meanwhile…
Namek and Emile traveled quickly toward the Adventurer Guild.
On the way, Namek asked, "Emile, what exactly did Lord Aaron teach you?"
Emile smiled. "I can't tell you. But I'm sure of one thing, we won't need to hunt monsters in the forest anymore."
Namek was stunned. "That's good… but what will I do then?"
Emile chuckled. "I heard Lord Aaron plans to return to the Barren World. This time, I'll follow him. You'll act as a supply bridge, bringing goods to and from the Barren World."
She paused, then added, "You can ask the other three if they're willing to take on the escort missions."
Namek's eyes lit up. "Don't worry, leave it to me."
A few minutes later, the carriage arrived at the Adventurer Guild.
Namek and Emile stepped down calmly and walked into the spacious hall.
The guild was large enough to accommodate thousands of people. Guards were stationed throughout.
To the left, tables and chairs filled the lounge area where adventurers could order food, drink, and discuss their missions.
To the right, a row of reception desks handled task postings, registrations, and exams. A staircase led to the second floor, also guarded by adventurers.
Emile turned to Namek. "Wait here. I need to speak with my father alone."
Namek nodded. He didn't have the courage to face Lord Ember directly, his danger sensing ability always made him uneasy around the man. And Ember never missed a chance to complain about it.
Emile walked to the staircase, pulled out a token, and showed it to the guards.
"I need to meet my father, Lord Ember."
The guards stepped aside. "Please proceed, Wizard Emile."
She climbed the stairs and reached the second floor, lined with doors for administrative departments, task management, finances, paperwork. A patrol team moved quietly through the hall.
Emile didn't stop. She showed her token again. "I need to meet my father, Lord Ember."
The guards nodded and let her pass.
She climbed to the third floor, where only five rooms stood.
She walked to Room 3 and knocked.
A rough voice called out, "Come in."
Emile entered and saw her father, still working out, even as an Elder.
She smiled. "Father, you can stop working out for now. I have something important to discuss."
She closed the door behind her.
Ember had a muscular build, looked to be in his mid-thirties, with blonde hair, tanned skin, and slash marks across his body.
The most striking was a scar just below his eye.
He looked up. "Emile, what brings you here? And where's that idiot Namek? Did that coward finally gather the courage to look me in the eye?"
Emile sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Father, why are you always after Namek? I told you, his danger sense makes him afraid of you."
Ember snorted. "That's exactly why I want him to train with me. After a few months, he might—"
Emile cut him off. "Father, you haven't fought anyone in ages. You just want someone to vent your emotions on."
Ember casually picked his nose. "Ah! How could I?" He gave a fake laugh.
Emile took a deep breath. "Okay, Father. I need to discuss something important."
Ember flicked the bogger toward the bin, washed his hands at the basin, and turned serious.
"Alright.Tell me, what do you want to say?"
Emile took a deep breath and said, "First, let's activate the spying barrier."
Ember's expression turned serious. Without hesitation, he reached into his pouch, pulled out ten mana stones, and placed them inside a sealed box.
The box glowed faintly, and a shimmering veil of mana spread across the room, isolating it from any external surveillance.
