From Blade To Spell

Chapter 115: Nomikana

Emile took a deep breath and said, "Father, there are some things I can't tell you. Don't worry, I wasn't forced. But I truly can't say more."

She then placed a wooden box on the table, opened it, and revealed 99 high-grade mana recovery potions.

"We want to sell these. Will the Adventurer Guild buy them?"

Ember leaned forward, picked up a vial, uncorked it, and gulped it down.

His eyes lit up instantly. "Emile… did you meet the god of wealth? This potion is incredible, no side effects. I could consume two more in a row and the effect would only increase!"

Then his expression turned serious. "But potions like this are nearly impossible to find. Emile… how did you do it?"

Emile was stunned. Her breathing quickened. She knew the implications, most mana potions contained toxins that prevented users from consuming more than one at a time.

Those same toxins often blocked Wizard Apprentices

from advancing to Formal Wizard status.

But this potion… could change everything.

She smiled and said, "Father, just tell me, will the Adventurer Guild buy it?"

Ember nodded solemnly. "Of course. It's essential. Come, I'll take you to meet Guild Leader Nomikana."

Emile blinked. "Is that necessary?"

Ember's tone deepened. "Absolutely. There are things you don't know. Now that you've brought this potion, it's time you heard the truth."

He paused, then said, "Do you know why the Black Faction started a war with the Light Faction?"

Emile shook her head. "No. I thought those lunatics wanted to use death aura to reach higher tiers."

Ember shook his head. "That's not it. The Dark Faction was ordered by the Alchemist Association to retrieve a Tier 7 herb from the Holy City."

"The Light Faction refused to hand it over, not to the Alchemists, not even to their own allies."

"So the Alchemist Association made a deal: if the Dark Faction retrieved the herb, they would refine three potions of Grand Wizard Realm, two of Master Wizard Realm, and one of Grand Master Wizard Realm."

"By the way, those realms come after the Great Wizard Realm."

Emile was shocked. She couldn't speak for a long moment.

A few minutes later… on the topmost floor of the Adventurer Guild.

Nomikana, a Tier 4 Wizard, looked at Ember and Emile with a puzzled expression.

As far as she remembered, Ember hadn't caused trouble since she appointed him as Elder.

So why was he here today? Was he going to borrow something? Or was it something more serious?

Emile, meanwhile, looked at Miss Nomikana and thought to herself:

"So this is the Grand Wizard… Just by looking at her, I can feel the immense energy she holds."

"How does she look so young? I've heard that wizards who reach the Great Wizard Realm gain a lifespan of 400 years."

"If she's Tier 4,  her lifespan must already exceed that. I've even heard rumors that she's nearly 200 years old… but it feels rude to ask."

"But I have to say… she's still so beautiful," Emile thought to herself, gazing at the woman who radiated both power and grace.

Just then, Nomikana's cold voice cut through the air:

"Ember, did you cause trouble again?"

Ember straightened up like a scolded child. "Guild Master, for the first time, I swear, I didn't make any trouble."

Emile tried her best to suppress a laugh, but her shoulders trembled with the effort. Ember shot her a glare, his pride clearly wounded.

Clearing his throat, he stepped forward and said in a lower tone, "Guild Leader… please try this Basic Mana Recovery Potion."

Ember placed the Basic Mana Recovery Potion in front of Guild Leader Nomikana.

Her magic ring, enchanted with poison detection, remained silent, no warning triggered.

Satisfied, she uncorked the vial and drank it.

Her eyes brightened instantly.

She turned to Ember, her tone tinged with excitement.

"Ember, where did you get this potion? I need more of them."

Ember smiled. "No problem. Here you go."

He handed her five more vials.

Nomikana drank four bottles in a row, then leaned back and said, "Fantastic. This kind of mana recovery potion could instantly turn the tide of battle."

Then her expression sharpened. "Ember, I need to know,  where did you get this?"

Ember coughed lightly. "Guild Master… I got it from my daughter. You should ask her."

Nomikana turned to Emile. Emile bowed slightly. "Greetings, Respected Grand Wizard Guild Master. I received the potion from someone, he refined it. Please tell me, how much can I sell it for?"

She placed the remaining mana potions on the table.

Nomikana was stunned. The quality and consistency of the potions were unmatched. Each one looked identical, a feat even she, a skilled alchemist with a 70% success rate, couldn't guarantee.

She couldn't fathom the skill level of the person who made them.

After a moment, she said, "I'll buy each potion for 15 mana stones. I'll take as many as you have. But I'd still like to speak with the person who refined them."

Emile was speechless. She felt like she'd stumbled into a fortune. Her composure slipped, and she stood dazed until Ember knocked her lightly on the head.

She snapped back and said, "I'll speak with him. If he's willing to meet you, I'll let you know."

Nomikana nodded. She took out 1,500 mana stones and placed them on the table.

"Please let him know, this is urgent."

Emile nodded. "I'll take my leave."

She exited the room quickly, eager to find Namek.

Nomikana turned to Ember and said in a low voice, "I'll follow your daughter this time. You know how urgent things are on the frontline. If the Dark Faction breaches our defenses, the situation will worsen."

Ember nodded. "Guild Master, I'll go with you, just in case."

Nomikana replied, "Okay."

On the carriage ride back, Namek noticed the bright smile blooming on Emile's face. He couldn't help but ask, "What happened?"

Emile simply smiled, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Something good," she said softly. "You'll know soon enough."
