"So what?"
Saquin's voice resounded in the room as the four holographic figures were silent for a while.
"Ah."
A deep breath by the leading lady.
"That was surprising..." She sighed, "but not completely unexpected."
Saquin tilted his head at her.
"Well, you see, you are a Divine. I expected half as much from you." She paused. "The arrogance of course, not the admission."
"I never actually believed in the fact that you were responsible for Greader's death. After all, that would mean that you Awakened nothing more than a couple of days prior."
Her eyes narrowed.
"So to say, you possess this much personal power in just the first few days of your journey into the Empowered World."
"Truly fascinating, right?" Shalis sneaked in a compliment for Saquin.
"It truly is." The blonde lady agreed.
"But still..." She hesitated. Something Saquin had not expected from her.
She soon composed herself, then continued the meeting with another straight to the point question.
"What rank are you now?"
"Senar Initiate." Saquin gave an answer, despite knowing it was not exactly what was expected.
"Specifically." The blonde lady did not mind his antics.
"Pinnacle." Saquin smiled.
"I see." She took a deep breath in from the answer, the four figures all did.
"Just as I thought, he is a vicious one." One of the other three holograms said. This was a man with age by his side. His hair was all grey and the wrinkles on his face alone were more than one could count.
"What do you mean?" Saquin asked. He had an idea of what the man meant but he was not entirely sure just yet.
"You went for the hidden condition right?" Another of the hologram asked. This belonged to a young man who seemed to be in his twenties.
Saquin could feel the air of innate arrogance even through the hologram.
"I didn't." Saquin replied with an indifference shrug.
"You clearly did. You do not have to sit there acting all mighty and still lie..." The young man halted his words at the raise of the blonde lady's hand.
She gave him a short glare before she turned to face Saquin again.
"I still cannot believe the fact that you were responsible for his death. It still makes no logical sense." She addressed him.
"Are you saying I am intentionally smearing my own name?" Saquin sneered.
"Who knows?" The lady shrugged. "One cannot know with you Divines. What your motives are. The reason behind your actions."
"I have no specific motive." Saquin gave her a gentle smile.
He could not believe it.
This lady who was who knows how old, with both personal and authoritative powers that he could not yet fathom, was actually scared of him.
He could feel the fear.
It was like a guiding lamp in the dark for his Unliving Senses. Something he had no idea he had till just now.
It wasn't just him though, it seemed her fear was deeply rooted in her when it comes to the Divines.
He heard it clearly when she mentioned the word.
It was not just her though, the other three figures had the fear in them too. The more time he spends in the room, the easier it is to see the fear in their gazes.
Well, this is interesting.
It seems he would have to reevaluate his thoughts on the status and significance of Divines.
Seeing and being responsible for the death of four had skewered his view of them greatly.
"I just thought I should tell you the truth." Saquin continued.
He leaned forward in his seat.
Now that he knew about the fear evident in his interrogators, he had no reason to show any restraint. Not like he planned to, to begin with.
"I was never going for the hidden condition, I was satisfied with even the most basic of clearing conditions. But..." He stopped at that point.
"The young prince was, am I right?" The blonde lady completed the sentence.
"Yep." Saquin nodded. "All I did was engage in self defense."
"Okay, let's say we do believe what you have just stated. It is still hard for me to believe the fact that you two just happened to be in the same Trial." The blonde lady still did not believe Saquin.
"Don't you guys go to a specialized Divine Trial anyways. So, how do you explain meeting in a Trial?" She presented an argument.
"Oh, come on. I am sure you know the Trials are not fixed, especially the Divine Trials." Saquin leaned back in his chair.
He rubbed his temple.
"Okay, I did not want to do this. But it seems you are a certified doubter."
He smirked as he raised his hand up.
Then, he started listing names.
"Maggie."
One finger down.
"Flair."
Another finger down.
"Xavier, the Divine. Martial Arts is his forte."
Then another finger came down.
"The center of today's topic, the Golden Prince Greader. The proud star sharpshooter."
One finger left.
"And my girl that never became truly mine. Princess dear Mia, the beast taming Divine."
Through Saquin's list of names the room remains as silent as a graveyard.
The blonde lady stared hard at Saquin.
Saquin had just listed the names of five of the top prospect talents of the month.
And truly they were all dead.
This was information so guarded from the public that the Federation itself just became aware of some of their deaths just today.
Especially in the case of the Imperial princess of the Pluto Empire.
Princess Mia.
A girl that the Empire had placed a lot of hope on. Her future marriage was meant to serve as the link between them and another major power of the galaxy.
They had hidden the news of her death very tightly.
The Federation had just uncovered the information just a few hours before this meeting and of the people that were present, she was the only one with prior knowledge of it.
Hence, the other three Federation officials were staring at her in wonder.
Their gaze conveyed the same thing.
Is he right?
She could not even be bothered to reply to them now.
She was still processing the shock herself.
She had not even been aware that Xavier of the house Nata, was a Divine till just minutes before the meeting.
All these facts meant that either Saquin had access to an information network equal or even better than the Federation.
Or.
He truly had participated in a...
"A Super Divine Trial." She said with wide eyes.
"Burst." Saquin snapped his fingers in his time term of Eureka.
"A four Divine participant Super Divine Trial." The lady muttered in genuine shock. "The chances of a normal Super Divine Trial happening ever is a nigh impossible situation. Only a few had happened throughout history. But now..."
"It was actually a five Divine." Saquin corrected.
"What?!" The four top officials chorused the shout.
"But you counted three Divines." The young man from earlier said.
"Simple. I was simply recounting those that are dead or I killed." Saquin explained.
"You mean?" The old man raised brow. An eerie sight to Saquin.
"Yes, one other Divine survived the Trial and the bastard is still out there somewhere." Saquin talked about this imaginary Divine with hatred in his voice.
"This Divine?" The old man started, hoping for Saquin to offer an explanation about this hatred.
"He was the major reason for our appearance in the Trial." Saquin understood the old man and offered the explanation. "I am sure we meant to go to different Divine Trials, but Miss... I mean the Underworld Will placed us one in the same Trial, you can guess why."
"No we can't." The old man frowned in confusion. How the fuck did the young man expect them to guess something based off incomplete and vague information like that.
"Oh, my bad. I forgot you normies cannot process things as we Divines." Saquin gave an apology.
A vein popped up the young man's head, but the other three did not seem to mind the subtle insult to their level of intelligence. Which indirectly showed their level of intelligence.
"The Underworld Will brought us together with other lesser participants just so we could kill this Divine." Saquin offered the reason.
"This time, I won't even assume you can guess just the exact reason, so, I would just inform you."
Another vein joined the popping party on the young man's face.
"It was because..." Saquin paused for dramatic effect. He slowly looked over at each other's expressions before he then continued.
"He was an Abomination."
Saquin let out the last part with so much vigor one would think he was letting on the secret of the universe.
"Huh?" The officials all raised a brow.
They were extremely learned and had access to high end information about the universe and the Underworld. But this was the first time they were hearing such a matter.
"Abomination, a being that should not exist." Saquin said with both scorn and disdain dripping in his voice. "Not by the law of Origin at least."
"Oh." The room was fascinated.
Even Shalis seemed hooked.
"Now, as a Divine, I am not a follower of such things as the law of Origins. But, I dislike this guy as he was just a pure incarnation of both evil and mayhem."
Saquin continued.
"He was quite strong too."
"So, how did you survive?" The blonde lady asked.
"Not as strong as I." Saquin replied with a spark. He acted offended at the thought of a being of the same age and level being powerful than him was the real abomination.
"Then, how did he survive?" She rephrased the question.
"He has special powers that are both disturbing and disgusting." He replied.
"So you are saying..." The old man started.
"That a Divine Abomination is roaming round the galaxy right now."
Saquin concluded.
At this point, it was becoming hard for even someone with his level of acting skills to keep in the evil smirk that was threatening to spring up his face.
This is fun.
