Adventures of the last Wild Dragon

Chapter 110: Cooking and Storytime

With both Susan and Rhyana seemingly in a state of deep contemplation the group exited the fire attuned valley. They then proceeded to make their way east once more.

It was a quite day after that, for the most part. They did get in a couple of smaller scuffles but it was from lower leveled beasts that thought too much of themselves. Something that Violet was all too happy to disabuse them off.

The evening came once more and they managed to find a small cave next to a waterfall and decided to set up camp there for the night.

As they began to settle down, both Rhyana and Susan were once more astounded when a purple light began to emanate from Violet's form. The soft glow fully covered her figure, which began to shrink and shift. And before long a very naked woman with pink almost purple skin was left in her place. She had faint scales covering her arms and legs with long dark purple hair cascading from her head, which was crowned with two horns. In her back smaller wings rested and a long tail extended out behind her.

Seeing her companion assume her humanoid form was always a wonderous sight to behold. Luna sat there in surprise at Violet's decision to assume this form, yet that quickly turned into embarrassment when she looked down from her face and beheld her figure in all its exposed glory.

With a furiously blushing face Luna blurted out. "Clothes Violet! Remember to put on clothes!"

Violet for her part had completely forgotten about Luna's rule, that she always wear clothing when in this form. So she simply shrugged and pulled out the first thing she came across in her storage item.

A simple blue dress materialised on her figure, it did cover everything yet was quite tight around the dragons chest causing her some small discomfort. At least until the dress adjusted itself to fit better. Violet still had no idea how every item of clothing in her storage was able to do so yet paid it no further mind.

Now covered the young dragon gave her companion a wide smile, this had the effect of only deepening Luna's flush. "Now!" Violet announced. "Who is going to teach me how to cook!"

Susan who had been staring at the void dragon in shock upon seeing her transform before her eyes hesitantly raised her hand. "Umm I am a decent cook, although we do lack quite a lot of things to make more than anything simple." Hearing this Violet turned to look at her with her smile never leaving her face. Then with an overly dramatic flourish summoned forth barrels of seasonings.

Susan knew that the dragon had an item storage so wasn't too surprised when she saw things appear out of nowhere. Yet when her nervously approached the nearest barrel to pear inside she froze. The dogkin then rushed to the next barrel, and then the next, quickly going from barrel to barrel as her eyes grew comically larger at each barrel she stopped at. Each barrel naturally some of the various herbs and spices along with other various foodstuffs that were stored within her ring.

Eventually she looked up at Violet with such burning intensity that the dragon actually flinched back slightly. With a slightly manic tone in her voice Susan asked. "How do you have all of this!? Why are you only now letting me know you had all of these!?"

"Umm… this ring is from my mother, she had all of this stored within. And I only just remembered?" Violet hesitantly explained, beginning to regret asking to be taught how to cook. She had only wanted to learn so that she could cook food for Luna for a change. That was the main reason she wanted to be in this form after all, well that and it made her companion very happy for whatever reason so that was always an added benefit.

Susan's eyes gleamed with madness. "I have been living off bland meat for over two months now." She paused for a moment as she tried to collect her thoughts before continuing in a slightly less manic tone. "I wil teach you. So long as we can use what we need from all of this!"

Violet hesitantly nodded her assent and summoned forth a deer carcass that she had collected.

From there it was a whirlwind of activity as Violet was put through a crash course in cooking, Luna also decided to join in as she too had always enjoyed cooking. So together both Violet and Luna were put to task by the still excited dogkin.

Some time later the four of them were enjoying a lovely meal that had been prepared by the two companions under the surprisingly strict tutelage of Susan.

As they finished up their meal Rhyana eventually spoke up, having not had the chance to during the cooking montage. "How are you able to change your form like that? I have never heard of anything similar before now."

Violet simply shrugged. "I got the skill after evolving last time." Her head then tilted to the side in confusion. "Did you not get that skill? I thought it was a standard skill that all dragons got at level 40?"

Rhyana slowly shook her head in negation of that. "No its not something all dragons get, as I said iv never heard of anything having a similar skill before." Susan also nodded signalling her agreement with that fact.

Luna then spoke up sharing a piece of her knowledge. "Its a rare ability but not unheard off, although from what stories iv heard it usually is only given to extremely powerful beasts, that or extremely smart ones. As I said iv only heard about that from some of the legends the elders would tell us about." A wistful smile appeared on her face as she remembered her old family.

She took a moment but did continue speaking upon noticing the interested looks that she received from the assembled people. "Well the one legend I heard was about how my people came to be. The story goes that long ago a human once ventured far to the snowy north to explore. On his travels a powerful Snow Leopard came across him, not knowing what kind of creature the human was the beast followed him for some time. Slowly the leopard learnt to admire the human, for whilst weak he worked tirelessly to survive in the desolate north."

"The snow leopard wanted to communicate with the human but did not want to scare him off, for she had seen him run from many a powerful beast. So the ancient snow leopard decided to adopt a form similar to his own. It took her a long time to master how to do so, yet when she finally succeeded she approached the human."

"The human was weary at first when the transformed beast approached him, yet his curiosity overcame his fear and they began to convers. Over time the two fell in love and from their union the first snow leopard beastkin was born."

Luna ended the retelling with a slightly embarrassed look on her face before she quickly mumbled out. "Well that's all I remember of the story anyway."

It was Violet who spoke up then. "What is love? And how did that cause a beastkin to be born?"

Luna froze as she slowly looked up at her adorably stupid dragon. "Umm love is a feeling that two people share, it is caring for someone deeply, wanting to spend your life with them and be together with them…" she trailed off as she wasn't sure how she wanted to go about explaining how to explain the last part to the dragon. Yet before she could wade through that topic, Violet spoke up.

"Hmm, okay I think I understand." Then with a big smile on her face she looked directly at Luna and continued. "Then I love you Luna!" Luna choked on her drink at the point.
