With them able to settle down now that they were back in relative safety Luna opened up her system to see what class advancements she would have available to her.
She imagined that they would likely be focused on 3 aspects, her arctic affinity, void thanks to her connection to Violet and something to do with illusions, she had truly began to integrate them into how she fought, so it would make sense for her to be provided options revolving around that.
Still she would have to actually open up the system if she ever wanted to see. So without further ado she did just that.
[Class Advancement available, please select from one of the following options:
Arctic Mesmer
Arctic Void Companion
Frozen Time Witch
Frozen Time Warrior
Illusory Dancer]
Quickly looking over the options presented to her caused Luna to smile. She had mostly been right about what she would be offered based of first impressions, still she would need to dig a little deeper to truly find out what these options truly represented.
From the first option of Arctic Mesmer, this one instantly appealed to Luna. It emphasised her current combat methods the best, she relied on being elusive, utilising illusions and mesmerising movements. That coupled with her greater inclusion of ice and cold, this class fit her quite nicely indeed.
Already she was quite happy with just that first option, so with excitement she looked at the second.
It was just a straight continuation of her current class, splitting her growth between her Arctic heritage and her connection to Violet. She felt an instinctive pull towards this class, its emphasis on her connection with Violet drawing her towards it. But… she knew that she should not only select the class for that fact alone, and as it currently stands her only skill to do with th void is void step. And whilst a great skill that she uses constantly, it is not the cornerstone of her combat capabilities.
So although she did like the class, she was reluctant to take it right now. Besides she still had more options to go through!
The next two were both strange and powerful, both of them started with Frozen Time, it was a strong statement for a class to be based off. It implied both ice/ arctic affinity but, perhaps most importantly time affinity.
This naturally must have come from perhaps her strongest skill, Frozen Moment. So for her to be granted a class that could provide her even more options to manipulate time… well it was quite appealing really. Then the two options were split between witch and warrior, so magical focus or a more physical focus.
Now whilst this did sound great, and the chance to get more time based skills was enticing. Luna didn't know if this was the route for her. She didn't truly consider her skill to have anything to do with time, more that she simply froze everything around her. So she felt like by choosing this option she might be diluting her abilities with pure cold.
Lastly was the Illusory Dancer class. This abandoned everything she had worked to develop with her ice and arctic magics, in favour of going all in on illusions. And whilst she knew that this class could be very powerful… she didn't like the implications of loosing her affinity with ice and cold.
So all in all she only really had a single option that she felt fit her well. She was slightly disappointed by that fact, but at the same time that class did seem to truly fit her.
She did go over all of her options once more to make sure that she was happy with her decision, and although she did look longingly at the Frozen Time classes before shaking her head and making her selection.
Yet just as she was about to make her selection she felt a surge of power from besides her, coupled with a surge of anger coming from Violet. Luna tried to figure out what was going on, but she was suddenly hit with a new notification that shattered her previous thoughts and sent her into a spiral of confused thoughts. A violet and iridescent screen flickered into view before her.
[Notice - Influence of a Wild Dragon detected, a new evolution path is available]
[Evolve into - Primal Arctic Loepard?]
'Wha!? How is this even possible?' As far as Luna was aware, this should not be possible. This wasn't even a further beastkin evolution, this was a straight up evolution into a true beast! And primal? What exactly does that mean?
She knew that primal meant… she thought anyway, but what would that mean for her? Did she want to become a beast? Would she be able to stay in her current form or would she be forced to take the beast form permanently?
The rush of questions flooded Luna's mind, the implications of that running amok in her head.
Whilst Luna knew that she should question this more… the screen before her was once more flickering in and out of existence, as if saying that she either had to make this decision now or she would never again be offered it. And so maybe against her better judgement, she accepted the evolution option. Her class also being selected as Arctic Mesmer.
Then everything began to turn black. The last thing Luna noticed was a sense of bone deep satisfaction coming from her companion. Then she knew no more.
For Rhyana and Susan they had been expecting a relatively simple evolution and advancement. They had both seen multiple creatures advance during their time living as slaves, so they both thought that they knew what to expect.
Which was why when after both girls had settled down and were clearly engrossed with reading through their options, they were quite surprised when a presence descended down upon them all. It was frustrated, angry, and full of righteousness indignation.
The fury contained within that presence was stifling, it felt like they were buried and struggling to breathe.
Then without warning it dissipated, they could once more breathe, only to startle back in surprise. A violet pulse of energy burst forth from Violet as she was encased in a shell of power. This pulse traveled through them, out of their camp and out into the world beyond.
Then to their even greater surprise a similar shell of power began to form around Luna, only instead of violet it was coloured a entrancing mix of the deepest blue and iridescent white.
This shell too released a pulse of power, not to the extent of what was released by Violet, yet still significantly greater than anything they would have expected from a class advancement. In fact a shell shouldn't even form around a being just undertaking a class advancement, so… had Luna evolved? The idea was ridiculous, but the evidence was right there surrounding the leopardkin.
Susan looked over at her draconic friend. "So… this has been unexpected I suppose."
"At this point I don't know why we keep getting surprised by this, it seems like every second thing they do is either dangerous, crazy or insane."
"Yeah, that is quite true." Susan let out a light laugh before continuing. "But it does keep things entertaining for us though."
A rumble of annulment came from Rhyana at that, unable to argue against that point. And together the two of them settle back, eager to find out what form the two girls came out as.
