Whilst Luna giggled at Violet, who pouted in return. Rhyana and Susan were both still reeling at the simple fact that Violet's mum was considered the Dragon Princess. Whilst Violet had no idea what that title implied, they knew what that meant, and as Moraznias farther was the dragon king, well that held some implications.
For one, a dragon could only be considered a king if they were the strongest dragon alive. Considering how powerful dragons were then he must had been a supreme existence! Maybe even above that tier, whatever that may be.
So then the question is, how did such a being die? What horrifying creature was able to slay something so powerful? The thought of what could have caused his downfall were chilling.
Then came the realisation that Violet was related to such a being! It suddenly made sense how she was both so powerful and so in tune with the Wilds. Truly she was no ordinary dragon, although she truly needed no lineage to prove her might. After all she had come so far and become so strong all by herself in only a handful of months. She really was an exceptional beast.
After some time Luna managed to settle herself down from her fit of laughter at imagining Violet holding a city hostage for snacks. Once she had regained her cool she looked up slightly guiltily at Ivy who had an amused look on her face.
"Sorry about that." She said whilst scratching the back of her neck in embarrassment. "Please continue with your story. I was just imagining Violet doing exactly as you described Moraznia doing and couldn't hold it in." Her cheeks flushed slightly and her eyes darted down, unable to meet the Dryads eyes in turn.
Ivy for her part did not mind the interruption, she could tell that the two of them truly got along well. So Luna's laughter came from a place of love.
"Well I'm afraid there isn't a whole lot let to tell about her specifically really, her tale becomes synonymous with the fall of the dragons after all."
That sentence managed to sober Luna up quite quickly indeed. "Well it all started just over 200 years ago now. Their was an incursion into the Wilds, it happened near the edge of the Endless Forest, this incursion was led by a particularly nasty corrupted monster. Believed to be a peak Titan or maybe even a Behemoth tier existence." Seeing some confusion at that title she went on to explain. "Behemoth is for tier 7 monsters, beasts and enlightened are referred to as Pinnacle tier. This is the highest know tier any being has ever achieved."
"Well once this incursion of corrupted appeared, the dragon king, along with countless other beasts and enlightened rallied to push back the corrupted. It was an arduous battle, lasting nearly a full year but, eventually we managed to push them back and defeat the leading monster."
Ivy grimaced then, her face a mix of pain, loss and anger before she continued. "It was just after the final blow was struck that the Kingdom of Eldor attacked. The Dragon King, already weakened and wounded from his battle against the monsters was unable to defend himself properly, he was slain during that bloody battle. Many other dragons were either killed or captured that day whilst the beasts and enlightened supporting the king were forced to flee."
Violet's eyes narrowed, a deep reverberating growl of rage rumbled out from her chest. Luna matched this too, her hair standing in end and her ears going flat against her head as she let out an involuntary hiss of outrage. Their presence's even escaped their control, fueled by their rage over the despicable actions of the Kingdom.
Ivy sighed as she nodded in agreement, giving the girls some time to process her words. "It was despicable, but sadly it worked. The Kingdom was able to follow up their success by invading the Endless Forest, wiping out several of the Dragon kings most fervent supporters and proceeding the capture or kill every dragon that they could."
"It was during this time that the dragon Princess came back into play. She was not present for the battle against the corrupted so managed to escape the slaughter which happened that day. Moraznia in turn tried to rally all remaining dragons and support that she could gather to fight back against the Kingdom. But the die had already been cast, she was unable to hold them back. The kingdoms elites hunted her down, along with every other dragon that resisted."
"Most people believed that she perished to these hunters, but no one ever knew for sure. All we know is that thanks to her and the remaining dragons holding back the kingdoms elites for so long, the city's of the Forest were able to fully band together and push back the Kingdom." She stopped then, a heavy silence fell over the group, the only sounds being the crackle of the fire and the gentle drip of rain. "I'm afraid that is all that I truly know about the conflict which relates to your mother Violet. I wish I could tell you more." She bowed her head slightly at that.
Yet Violet did not hold it against her, for she was still furious at the Kingdom of Eldor, more so now than she previously was. This new information now just crystallised her desire to attack this annoying Kingdom.
Dispite her growing hatred for Eldor, Violet was at least cognisant of one main fact though. She was far too weak right now. Even if the dragon king had been wounded and tired after his fight with the monster he was still a peak existence likely tier 6 or maybe tier 7. So the kingdom had to have some seriously powerful people within its ranks if they were able to fight and win against him.
So Violet needed to get stronger, strong enough to the point that she would be able to defeat anyone or anything. She would not settle for her meagre current strength, she would not even settle for Ivy's current strength. No she would aim for the very peak! If her goal was to defeat a near unbeatable foe, then she just needed to be strong enough to make them beatable!
Then she remembered something so obvious that she wanted to hit herself. She was not alone, she had a companion, she had friends. So if she was unable to get that strong herself, then she would just have to get strong enough together with others.
A vicious smile split Violet's face, turning her furious visage into one of cold calculating rage. She looked over at Luna besides her and saw the same burning determination in her eyes, they locked gazes for a prolonged moment. A flood of emotions and half formed thoughts being shared with one another at a rapid pace. The same vicious smile soon split Luna's face too, she too agreed with violets course of action.
Violet had helped Luna on more times than she cared to count. She had helped her avenge her own family, saved her life and then given her a reason to keep living. Luna loved Violet with all of her being, so if she had the chance to help her with her own revenge then she would do so in a heartbeat.
So what if they had to wade through a mountain of corpses and bloody battles in order to achieve it. So what if they would have to spend years fighting to grow strong enough to even consider taking action. If it meant helping Violet then Luna would do so in a heartbeat.
