The cheers erupted throughoutthe arena as they finally completed the school competition that was organized by the royal family.
"Wow, I criticized him, but he is good, totally." Prince Kaid confessed, his eyes on Fiana. His heart was racing; he remembered the intense fight that got his hair up.
"Ohh yeah, it's better you understand it now!" Princess Fiana said, with her hands swinging in the air as she felt victorious. She continued saying, "Akirion showed his strength to me before he even participated."
The conversation between the two royal heirs continued as Fiana showed Kaid about Akirion's strong powers and abilities.
Meanwhile,
Akirion was filled with mischief as his eyes handsomely opened, his skin dirty from the fight, but his win was clean.
The sun was about to turn gold as the shutdownof the competition was announced.
Akirion's friends, his classmates, ran to him, including Elina, as they congratulated him, smiles glowing on their faces as mischief flowed in them.
The victory was announced; Akirion claimed the first spot, followed by Lucas, and then Olivia was last.
The announcer's voice boomed through the megaphone as he spoke about the rewards. Many people were dumbfounded as they didn't even think about the rewards. Akirion was also surprised, as his heart stopped a bit, and he silently asked himself, "Rewards? Really, does that mean I have to go in front of these people? And I got stage fright too; I don't think I can manage that."
The prince stood up, and thunderous applause rose up from the crowd throughout the arena. His thudding footsteps caused a lot of screams as they cheered for him.
'Wait, is that the Prince? His aura is a bit faint; is he some sort of a fighter? Who knows? I just hope he doesn't do something embarrassing for me.' Akirion said as he got worrisome after he observed the Prince's aura.
Akirion's friends back off, leaving him alone in the front line. He got instantly surprised, his eyes darting everywhere as his mind raced, searching for a place to hide his face.
Meanwhile, the princess followed, her beauty pulling the eyes from the crowd. Her sweet perfume scent smoothly wafted over the crowd. Her personal glow left men drooling in her back. Her curled lips increased her beauty as she tried by all means to stay grinning.
*Haaa…* Awww… Soft murmurs rippled across the stage as every eye followed her graceful steps. It was as if the crowd counted each one, clearing the way before her, ensuring her path remained flawless.
The prince reached the stage, and Akirion showed his respect by bowing down to the prince as he greeted her.
"Hey Akirion! You've proved to be a hero, this school's hero and more; you can be this city's hero. Thank you for showing up and showing off your skills; that was awesome!" Kaid praised Akirion with a smile flashing on his face. His teeth were brightly shining as he showed them off, his heart beating as he thought every word he said because fear was lurking behind his shadow.
"Thank you, my prince! I guess it's just lucky for me. I didn't think that I was going to reach this place!" Akirion continued bowing, his eyes closed as his voice filled with respect and gratitude.
'Luck, huh? Okay, let me play with you, Akirion!' he silently said, his face grinning like a Cheshire cat as he continued, "So, if you were in a fight with me, do you think that you were going to kick me up?"
"Of course not, my prince; I believe you are stronger than me. More than strong!" Akirion put himself down to avoid conflict.
"Hahaha, stop lying! I'd love to see your skills in a real fight." The prince was eager to be in a duel with Akirion.
"I can't do that!" He denied it.
"Why?"
"No, I can't fight you! What if I win? You will be embarrassed in front of the crowd too; do you like that?" Akirion opened up the Bible as he explained a lot to him.
"You are right, but my mind is still unchanged. Before the rewards, I'd love to test your powers."
"No!"
"Come on, I insist."
"If you insist, then I'll try."
"Note this: don't hold back. If you do, I'll throw you in jail." the Prince warned, as he thought that Akirion was going to hold back.
'Really, because he's high class it doesn't mean I'll have to fight with him, and if I don't… grrrr, he's a scumbag!' "Akirion," he silently said, his mind racing. What if it was a test to see if he'll fight the prince? Such questions flooded his mind, but since the Prince insisted, he was forced to communicate with them.
The murmurings coiled over the arena; the crowd started talking about the prince about to fight with the student. The story spread like a rumor as the ears received and passed it without a second for a break.
Gasps scattered through the arena. Round mouths hung open as astonishment swept over the crowd like dust on a windy day. Some feared for the prince, others for the student—the boy who was coming from a war against Lucas, and now Prince Kaid wanted to deplete his last strength. Hearts skipped; some grew heavy with dread.
Fiana's eyes widened, her fear hanging thick in the air as she tried to process Kaid's words.
'Is he for real? He can't fight with Akirion; it's a complete suicide mission! Why is he acting like a kid?' Fiana silently said, her face pale as it got heavy with dread.
Akirion's classmates backed away from the stage, their knees trembling with fear for him. Some whispered that the prince might be too strong; others feared Akirion would lose control and kill the prince and face the consequences that would follow. Doubt and unease loomed over them like a dark shadow.
The two stood in their position as they waited for the start bell. The princess stood outside of the stage with her eyes flooding with tears while her hands covered her mouth and nose.
Her body trembled, and her heart thudded loudly as fear flowed in her bones.
The announcer hesitated to strike the bell as the two were waiting, forcing the prince to raise his right hand, pointing upwards with a thumbs up.
The hesitant announcer banged the bell from fear as he squeezed shut his eyes, hardly swallowed, and loudly banged it up.
The silence befell the arena. Everyone had their eyes on the stage, waiting for a climax since nobody knew where the tables would go.
"Okay, Akirion, I'm using wind and fire; let's see if you can break me." The prince gave Akirion a hint of what to expect during the fight.
The gasps whirled across the seats, since having two types of magic powers was very rare, so everyone got their hearts trembling for Akirion since they thought he was a young ordinary guy who won the school competition.
'Ohh, so he got two types of magic; that's good. I hope I won't be driven to show off mine.' Akirion said, his lips stretched with a sneer as he got emotionally calm and glared at the Prince.
The fight developed as the prince started by shooting many fireballs at Akirion, while some vacuum blades supported the balls.
Akirion used his trick of dispelling the fireballs, and then the blades missed him.
'Tsk, this kid, how did he do that?!' the prince thought, as his eyes blazed with rage after he saw a dispel. His heart thudded loudly for a second, then he got his groove.
Akirion charged towards the Prince and then changed routes as he circled him searching for an opening. Mostly, he wasn't searching for an opening, just to prove that he was normal.
The Prince then sent a gust of wind that left Akirion shaken to the edge. Anger rose up in Akirion's body while the prince sneered. Akirion suddenly started shooting fireballs.
He used his agility speed to tackle the prince. He ran fast but normally, trying not to leave trails about his true identity.
Fireballs were clashing on other fireballs, but on the other side, the wind was a helper.
'This guy is nuts. I love fireballs because they are stronger than other fire magic spells, and it seems like he also loves that too. So what am I going to do? Think, Akirion, think!' Akirion muttered to himself as he tried to think of a good way to defeat the Prince.
His mind was searching for an idea, while his body was racing with the air as he continued running around the prince.
'I should stop running; I'm getting all worked up. Let me try something else, or just attack him head-on.' Akirion continued as he stopped running and shot many fireballs, then slowly approached the prince.
"Hey, my prince, what got you to get in a duel with me?"
"Huh, ahh, just for a simple exercise, trying to get my body ready for anything. So I can say, "I'm just trying to keep my body fit, and I wanted to use you as my pyropuppet!" The prince replied with a grin that stretched his lips from ear to ear, sending shivers down Akirion's spine.
'Is he for real, using a doll, grrr!' Anger coiled in Akirion's chest as his eyes reddened. His face was set in a fierce expression, his eyes blazing with determination.
He swiftly disappeared in front of the prince, making a gasp escape from the prince's mouth. A sudden explosion occurred on the prince's back. Before he even landed, a rain of fireballs caught him off guard.
"I'm not a doll—just a human, like you."
Akirion's voice echoed behind the prince, whose royal robes were now dust-stained. Akirion's jaw tightened, his voice deepening with anger.
