It took him an entire month but eventually he was able to adjust the trials to be a bit more fair. He understood that not all beasts races are physically strong.

Some don't focus on physical strength at all. So, he changed the trial be more inclusive, while not perfect, it was the best he could do right now. He didn't change the trial of speed though, that one was okay.

However the strength trial was changed to attack potency trial. It no longer tested one's physical strength but their attacks potency, regardless of which type of ability they used, as long as the power is not external.

The first trial of endurance was changed to the trial of defence. Now, one could use any defensive ability in their arsenal, it was no longer limited to just their bodies. Those were the only two he changed.

Then the real trials began, the rabbits did much better this time, of the first group of ten, only two failed to meet the minimal passing grade on their overall grade.

One rabbit and one hippo. Ved understood why they failed. The hippo was slow so it failed the speed trial, the rabbit had a water element.

The issue was that it lacked creativity with it water abilities so it attack potency was pitifully low but the most infuriating was their endurance trial ( second trial, first endurance trial is now the defence trial)

They didn't fail because they lacked stamina or essence energy, in those two aspects, they weren't far off from the others but they had zero combat ability.

Their battle experience was none existence, those two had been sheltered too much. The army made of beings an entire rank below them broke through their defences in less than an hour.

Ved understood that trial was actually the most difficult, having to stop an entire army from reaching a gate was not easy, even if they are an entire rank below you.

However the minimum time limit to pass was nolonger 24 hours but 10 and they still failed, on the first hour no less, which made Ved shake his head in disappointment.

Their overall grade was below D which meant they failed and would have to wait 10 years to try again.

The hippo was a bit dejected but the rabbit looked fine. According to White that little rabbit was the gardener, she hated fighting so she didn't mind failing the trial.

Infact White herself had tried many times to train her and everytime she would end up playing with flowers or little insect, one time she threw up when White tried to make her kill a half dead fish, eventually White gave up.

The overall performance of the others were not exactly satisfactory either. Every single one of them besides White, Goldi and Pulse only hovered around D grade, not one even reached C- let alone a higher grade.

The way Ved had set the system was that you can choose from a grade of lineages corresponding to your overall pass grade.

D grade corresponded with mortal grade, C with earth, B with Sky, A with Heaven, S with legendary and SS with mythical. He added the SS grade himself.

Mythical was the highest lineage grade he could give out and there were only three of them. He doubted anybody would get those but he was hopeful.

They went to choose their lineages of choise under the company of Nal, the tower spirit. White actually ended up with the highest grade overall.

She had more attack potency than both Pulse and Goldi, lost out to both of them in defence but won in endurance.

Her overall grade was B grade, Goldi had B- and Pulse was slightly short on C+. That meant White can choose any low to high sky grade lineage or below.

Goldi can only choose low sky grade or below and Pulse can choose peak earth grade or below. The others can only choose from mortal grade lineages.

If they got D-, then they can only choose low mortal grade and if they got D, then they can choose from low to high mortal grade lineages.

And if they got D+, they can pick a mortal grade lineage of any level, from low to peak. After some browsing everybody chose their lineage.

There were too many lineage books that covered almost all the basic elements, only special ones like Pulse's frequency attack were not available or those who are too high grade like time.

They each chose one that matched their elements. White chose a high sky grade lineage called Flashing thunder, it was a lightning lineage that emphasizes speed over power.

Unfortunately for Goldi, space related lineages were few and only started at legendary grade so he had to settle for the closest thing.

Gravity, this lineage allowed one to control gravity and vectors to an extent. It wasn't as broken as the legendary space lineage but it was still incredibly powerful.

The only reason it was even sky grade was that it absorption speed and ability to purify essence was low.

Pulse had to settle for a mid earth grade sound related lineage, there weren't any lineages aligned directly with frequencies so the sound related lineage was the closest thing.

The abilities withing the lineage book were very versatile and with her frequency ability she could actually enhance the sound ability so this lineage was perfect for her.

Ved was glad everybody found lineages that suited them but they weren't allowed to leave with the books, fortunately there was a technique to directly transfer the knowledge to their brains.

They couldn't share this knowledge even if they tried. After that he teleported them to the base of the mountain to give them time to study their lineages.

Then he stood at the edge of the mountain peak, he activated his ignition to enhance his physical attributes, used herculean strength and focused all of his vital essence on his throat.

He wanted to enhance his voice as much as he could. Then he looked up to the sky above and roared. His roar boomed like thunder, shaking he sky.

Visible sound waves spread out through the air, the sky shook and thunderous sounds echoed across the entire island.

Every spiritual beast, no matter on which hole, cave or mountain they were hiding on, even those dwelling underwater, they all heard the roar. They did not just hear his roar but felt the message within.

They could feel the majesty and nobility behind that roar and they all knew. The king had called.
