Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 167: Eternal Winter

This was a huge blow to Naledi, a failure of this level was devastating. She heard their screams as they burnt in the flames.

Hundreds of her people, people she swore to protect, she promised to defend, dying right Infront of her.

Something stirred inside, rage, uncontrollable rage. Her image changed, it eyes grew cold and detached.

The crown on it head glowed and a tremendous pressure pressed everything to the ground for thousands of kilometres.

The earth shook and cracks spread through the land forming massive ridges. Both armies were pressed to the ground by the mountainous pressure, unable to move.

" I..failed, I, Naledi failed." Cat smiled but there was no happiness in her smile, only fear and pity.

" Shit, this is bad, she snapped." She had seen this side of Naledi only once before, before the fall when a girl tried flirting with Alex.

Of course the oblivious dimwit didn't even know he was being flirted with, that's the only reason that poor girl even lived to see tomorrow.

A snapped Naledi with powers? Cat didn't even want to imagine the consequences. She knew she had to get everybody the hell out of here.

Fortunately Naledi hasn't reached the point of no return, she was still sound enough to lessen the pressure on her and the others.

Infact the city was not effected at all or the normal humans there would've died from this kind of pressure.

Cat moved, her steps were slow but she could move, she grabbed others. Her, Ndu and general Ndlovu had an easier time moving as body enhancement vessel holders.

The others though, couldn't move an inch, especially her mother and Siri. Aira was fortunate enough to be close to the city where the pressure was the lowest.

Cat and the others who could move dragged those who couldn't into the city. The lower ranked soldiers had it worse.

Had Naledi not lowered the pressure on them, they would've died from the pressure, perhaps rank 3 soldiers would've survived for a while but anybody lower would've died in seconds.

Cat thought she already knew how powerful Naledi was but obviously she was wrong, this was new.

They didn't know what Naledi was going through right now. Since she was a child, Naledi had always been obsessed with being the best.

But who could blame her, her parents were incredible, she had brief memories of them and in those memories they could do anything.

They were super smart, athletic and kind, they were everything. That placed a huge burden of expectation on her, she strongly desired to be the best.

The source of her will was that obsession. However she wasn't like others, she had seen people obsessed with being the best like her.

However they all crumble and break down when they find out they're not but not her. Each failure just fuels her desire to be even better.

Her current obsession was being the best and strongest protector of humanity. So when a mere bird caused her to fail in that, she snapped and something rose inside her like a blazing flame.

She heard a voice in her heard, as if the world was whispering something to her, the same way it did her moniker of Mourning Snow.

' Ruler's Authority.' this was the name of this ability. It was strangely similar to the dragon races ability, Dragons Pride.

However the conditions for it activation were slightly different but less stringent. One had successfully to stand in the way of her goals.

They had to make her or come close to making her fail her obsession. Like right now. Unlike dragon pride, her ability increases the strength of her will rather than body.

However it seems to place a massive burden on her soul. Naledi strangely felt this ability wasn't something new.

She wasn't gaining a new ability but awakening something that had always been inside her, yet it also felt old and ancient.

She wiped the blood leaking down her nose. The mental strain was too much, she had to work fast.

Her image stood behind her like a guardian angel. Naledi raised her hand and pointed it at the sky.

She didn't want to use this ability, she still didn't have much control over it and could potentially hurt her friends plus it places a massive burden on her as well. Not to mention, it was permanent.

But in her current state, she had a feeling she could handle it. The dark clouds churned above her.

They spun forming a massive spiral whose central point was like a dark gate of the abyss that consumes even light itself.

From the dark hole came a tiny blue drop. It looked like a deep blue water droplet. The world lost it colour and seemed to stand still as it dropped to the ground slowly.

Even though it was as tiny as a marble, every living creature in the surrounding ten thousand kilometres saw the drop.

Then it gently splattered on the ground, " Ice Fall: Eternal Winter." She whispered, her solf voice reached the ears of everyone in thousands of kilometres.

----------------------------------------------------------

Over 4000 kilometres away.

The bovine king, a massive black minotaur standing at over 4 metres tall looked at the tower towering before it, this was the humanoid form of the buffalo king ruling this city.

It was standing Infront of a trial tower, one of the towers Ved commanded be built on every city. It was no longer as small as it initially was.

It now towered at 400 metres and as black as the night to reflect the majesty of king's tower where the great king resides.

The tower was currently glowing, he knew this meant danger was coming. This was one of the most impressive abilities of the tower, to detect upcoming danger.

The bovine king issued commands, calling all those who were out to come back. In mere minutes, thousands of spiritual beasts rushed into the city.

Then suddenly they all turned to look at the same direction, in the distance they saw a tiny water drop falling from the sky.

The moment this drop appeared, the tower conjured a blue barrier around the city. " May the great king be with us." The bovine king whispered in fear.

----------------------------------------------------------

Ved and Vermilion both felt the massive pressure, they turned and looked towards the Ice Lotus City then they both saw the tiny drop and knew something big was happening.

' What a monster.' Ved thought with a smile, he knew one person this powerful. Vermilion's fire spear disappeared, his fan reappeared. He held it Infront of him and Ved felt a terrifying sense of dread.

" Vessel Awakening Second Phase: Phoeni..." Before Vermilion could finish his sentence, Ved was already Infront of him grinning.

His entire body was glowing blue and purple.' Boom.' he whispered to Vermilion and the world turned a shade of blue and purple.
