Changing the influence of media from his past life was troublesome, the only way to do it was to completely change his own memories.
He started, he poured more dream mist into his actions. The mist moved through his mind gently touching his memories of dragons.
Slowly the memories changed, from the physically superior creatures they became the unkillable giants.
The closer to death they got, the more their survival means become stronger. However Ved also had to integrate physical superiority so his bloodline wouldn't reject the new belief.
So he continued changing his memories of dragons from all sources. However instead of being born physically powerful, they grow into it.
Whenever they suffer a certain amount of damage, their bodies regenerate faster to increase their survival while also becoming stronger.
The more hardship, the more trials they go through, the longer they survive, the stronger they become.
However he couldn't remove their prideful nature, that was impossible, instead he changed their source of pride from physically powerful bodies to the pride of being unkillable.
These new memories also fit the idea of older dragons being much stronger since they had to go through more trials.
As his memories changed, so did his belief of dragons. He could no longer remember how he viewed dragons before, to him they were all the same now.
The changes to his belief also changed his image, since he incorporated the idea of physical superiority even though the will was no longer based around it.
He was able to convince his bloodline to incorporate his new meaning. His strength was now based around his image of survival.
It made it much easier to merge the two of them. Ved moved the dragon image to the tree image. Before, the dragon was perched on the tree branches.
That hadn't changed but now, the dragon had a nest made of scales and leaves. The nest was fully merged with the tree giving the dragon a permanent residence on it branches.
The two images had merged with each other. No longer would they work independently, they were now two yet one.
Different wills that work together seamlessly like a single organism. As soon as they merged Ved felt his will become denser.
Much much denser than before, it was so dense it felt solid as a wall. This new image was definitely going to be much stronger but he also had a feeling it would place more limitations on him.
His images already had limitations before, the survival image only worked if he was in danger and the dragon image only worked if he truly desired strength.
The dragon image was easier to activate, convincing himself he needed strength was an easy thing to do.
However he doubted it would be as easy from now on. He opened his eyes, a few hours had passed since he started and he felt drained mentally.
Ved went to sleep and woke up a few hours later. Less than 40 hours were left before the next wave, it was time to start his next evolution.
Ved's body teleported to the roof of the tower. It was flat and made of pitch black metal that was cold to the touch.
But it was strong, strong enough to probably withstand the tribulation. ' System, initiate evolution.'
( Evolution process in 5,4,3,2,1, evolution initiated. Warning, the heavens have seen you, they had deemed you an anomaly to be eliminated.
Good luck host.) ' FUUUUCK, why do the Gods hate me so, what have I ever done to you? Damn you old geezers with stinky beards.' Ved cursed every God in existence.

At the same time.
Naledi had woken up a few hours ago, using that new technique drained too much mental energy, it took some time for her to get back up.
The first thing she did was attend the funeral ceremony for the fallen. They had postponed it and waited for her to wake up.
She was happy to know her people still trusted her even after she failed to protect them but it made her guilt even worse.
The funeral was sad. No tears fell out of her eyes but snow fell from the sky mournfully as the world was crying on her behalf. All her sorrows contained in the white cold blanket of snow.
She was not aware but every single living creature touched by her snow could feel her pain, her guilt and sorrows.
The sorrowful cries of her people made her heart cold. Looking at their faces filled with pain, she blamed herself.
It was her duty to protect them yet she failed. She watched as the 10 562 people were lowered to their graves.
There were children amongst them, children who still had a long life ahead of them with a lot to look forward to.
Yet their future was stolen from them at such a young age. Naledi felt rage bubble inside her, not at the beast army, those were nothing but puppets.
She swore that whoever was behind this would pay. As her anger continued rising she felt a small hand touch hers.
She looked down and saw a little girl holding her hand. Tears streaking down her eyes yet she smiled at her.
" It's okay big sister, don't cry. Mommy said smiling makes you prettier, so I'm not crying, see, I'm smiling like mommy said I should."
Naledi smiled softly, this child lost both her parents. Her mother died in the flames, her father was one of the fallen soldiers yet she was still smiling.
Even as she cried, she was still smiling. Naledi knelt down and hugged her, " You're right, big sister with not cry anymore."
A single tear fell down her eyes and landed on the girl's shoulder. Snow fell harder but it was different, no longer sorrowful but filled with determination.
All those touched by it felt the desire to strive to be better, to make the lives of those around them better. Her desire to help others ended up influencing her people as well. After the funeral she left the city. " Where are you going?" Cat asked her.
" I need to confirm somethings." She replied. " Do you want me to come with you?" Cat asked, her voice filled with worry.
Naledi shook her head. Cat took a gulp from her gourd, the smell of alcohol filled the air. " Be careful." She said with hiccups then turned around and went back.
Naledi nodded and left. The world outside the city was a frozen wasteland. The demonic beast army stood around it like statues of ice.
She flew towards the beast city, she stopped a few kilometres outside it. A familiar aura still lingered in the air.
She got angry, the aura in the air was that of Alex but she was certain it wasn't him.
Alex had a unique scent, she couldn't explain it but he had a soothing scent that calmed her soul, this scent wasn't here.
She was certain someone was trying to cause a rift between the two of them. ' Who else knew?' she wondered how her enemies found out about them.
Only two people knew before that day ' I don't know about Alex but I only told two people and those two wouldn't betr...' she stopped.
" That fucken maid." She remembers sensing one of the maids close by when she was talking to Cat but she ignored her.
After all, the maids knew better than to betray her. However a sudden thought occured to her.
She knew of a single person that had an ability to disguise themselves even to her senses. " The witch of a hundred faces, that bitch, I'm going to skin her alive."
A powerful aura blasted out of her, the ice below her feet cracked from the pressure. She was just about to leave when she felt somebody approaching her from the beast city.
A massive black minotaur stood Infront of her, he appeared nervous. The minotaur bowed slightly in her direction.
" Valkyrie of Winter, the Mourning Snow, the great king of beasts sends his regards." Naledi looked at him, waiting for him to continue speaking.
" He told me to deliver a message to you." The bovine king gave her a letter. She opened it, after reading the first line she busted out laughing.
" As I suspected, it was that asshole after all." The latter froze and disintegrated into ice particles.
" Thank you lord of the bovines, tell your king I understand and someday, the winter will snuff out the flames that burn joy." She almost couldn't hold back her laughter when thinking about the new nickname for that asshole.
' Flames that burn joy, quite fitting.'
