Dark clouds gathered above the dark tower. A pressure as heavy as a mountain bore on Ved shaking his legs.
He looked up and waited. The clouds grew and spun above him forming a massive vortex that stretched beyond the island itself.
Every rank 5 being in the minor world looked up. The four kings of the sea including Ursela rose above the ocean and looked up.
Nimue looked at her husband Novak. " Dear, our tribulation clouds weren't this large were they?" Novak nodded, she continued, her voice laced with worry.
" Do you think he will be okay, he will not fall will he?" Novak answered without even looking at her.
" He's strong, stronger than both of us when we were his age, do not worry, the child will succeed, he has to."
Nimue nodded but she couldn't stop herself from worrying, she viewed herself as his adoptive mother, she would be really hurt if she lost him.
" Do not fail Ved, please do not." She whispered softly, Traxy squeezed her hand tightly, she took looked at the clouds looming above with worry as well.
Everybody in the minor world looked up at the clouds, they could feel the pressure emanating from them.
Just this little pressure was enough to shake their bones with fear, they couldn't image how the person at the centre of it was feeling.
The news of the beast king undergoing the rank 5 tribulation spread in the outside world like wild fire. It started in the beast cities but it eventually leaked to the humans.
A lot of humans were worried about this, after all unlike their powerful leaders, they couldn't sense the world barrier limit.
They didn't know that a rank 5 being couldn't exist in their world currently so the idea of a beast stronger than their leaders terrified them.
Naledi crumbled a piece of paper and smiled softly. " So you've left me behind? I should prepare for my breakthrough, it won't be long now."
She could feel the barrier loosening, the next wave was only in a few hours then she could also breakthrough.
Vermilion read the piece of paper without a change in his expression. He wasn't worried by the news at all, after all, he was going to breakthrough in a few days as well.
However knowing that the beast king was still alive was annoying, he didn't know what it would take to permanently kill that thing anymore.
Others had different reactions, Orochi laughed out loud. His voice booming through the mountains shaking the humans and beasts with fear.
" Good, good, I can't allow myself to be left behind." That day, he locked himself in seclusion to try and temper his will to conjure up an image.
The golden monk also smiled when he heard the news. " Perhaps it's time I return home." The monk had kept his promise and travelled around the world teaching peace between races and it was working.
There was a long way to go but he could see progress. Around the temple there were even villages of both human and beasts, providing shelter for both races without bias.
In the Qinghai lake of China, a massive serpentine creature with green scales, four legs and antlers lurked in the depth.
Linglong listened to her subordinates report and smiled. The sky became clearer as her mood changed.
" That's great but I can't let him leave me behind. Prepare the tribulation platform. I'm breaking through the moment the barrier opens up."
Linglong was genuinely happy, her and Ved were the only two dragons she knew and hearing news of him growing stronger brought joy to her heart.
" Grow much stronger black king of the sky, our offsprings will be the mightiest." As the only two dragons, even though they're from the two different clans of dragons, she thought it was only natural they become mates.
And she wanted her mate to be strong, as a female she instinctively wanted a mate stronger than her, with a better bloodline, unfortunately the black king of the sky couldn't reach that standard but he was the only choice available.
The massive turtle next to her sighed, he knew the black king of beasts had no interest in the Jade Queen of the sea.
The last time those two met, though he looked interesting in her, as the wise turtle he could see the black king was just curious about meeting another dragon but nothing more.
Infact he asked the Kitsune from lord Orochi's domain. Kitsunes were every experienced in the matters of the heart and according to her.
The beast king's heart already belonged to another. She didn't know who either but they both assumed it was another beast under his domain.
But he did not tell this to his queen, he just sighed and left to prepare the tribulation platform as ordered.
The news sent waves throughout the entire world, some celebrated, others cowered in fear of what the news entailed.
Ved on the other hand knew none of this. He tensely looked at the clouds above. They continued growing without any signs of stopping.
From ten kilometres wide to a hundred, a thousand, two thousand, 40 thousand. The clouds grew so vast they almost reached the boundaries of the minor then stopped.
However this brought a serious issue. The clouds covered the entire minor world and everybody under them would be considered interfering with the tribulation.
Everybody in the minor world will die, perhaps the rank 5 experts could survive but everybody else was going to die including him.
Ved stood tense, unfortunately he couldn't stop the process now. Terror gripped his heart and his blood ran cold.
He didn't want to be the one to cause the destruction of his empire. His people screamed and hid in fear but he knew it was useless.
They couldn't hide from the heavens themselves. Just as everybody stood in fear waiting for the impending doom, the clouds shrunk.
They shrunk rapidly until they were only 5 kilometres wide. However instead of being happy Ved grew more tense.
The four sea kings and the turtle couple shook with fear. The tribulation clouds were so dense they became a flowing liquid of darkness.
The pressure emanating from it was much higher than they expected it would be. As rank 5 beings, they were closer to laws than everybody else around.
They could feel what's happening above them more clearly. " Novak we have to stop it, we have to." Nimue said with panic.
Novak didn't reply, he just looked at the peak of the black tower with a scowl. Ursela appeared next to them.
" He'll be fine, that's my little bro, he won't fall to something like this." Ursela said with a grin but they could hear the fear in her voice.
However none of them truly understood what Ved was feeling. Currently he felt like he was holding a literal mountain.
His muscles strained from the pressure, the lake of flowing clouds turned green above him.
( WARNING: Prepare for the second order extinguishing tribulation lightning.)
" Yeah well, I'm dead." He sighed, lamenting his miserable fate.
