Naledi instinctively raised her sword to her right. The air screamed and she felt a huge force hit her sword.
Her arms shook but she lowered her own weight and was sent soaring like a streak of light.
She flew through the air for over 4 kilometres then spun mid and landed on her feet. She continued to skid back for a hundred metres.
Her arms were shaking and her muscles were sore. Had she not lowered her weight, they might have been broken.
She turned to look at the orc. He grinned at her. " You're getting more and more interesting human warrior."
The ice cracked below his feet and he flew at her like a streak of red light. The snow melted wherever he passed.
He reached her in a blink of an eye and his flaming axe came down on her like a guillotine.
He was much faster than she was. She had to use everything she had just to move fast enough to dodge.
She sidestepped, the axe landed on the ice floor. A massive shockwave of hot air spread out pushing her hundreds of metres away.
The ground was split apart by the axe forming a ravine that stretched for hundreds of kilometres.
It sides were melting like wax, waterfalls of lava fell from them to the dark depth below. She took a heavy breath.
The hot air burning her lungs even though they were surrounded by snow. Her stamina was dropping rapidly.
' How much longer?' she wondered, she wished the evacuation would end quicker. She couldn't hold on for much longer.
The orc turned to look at her with a grin. " How much longer can you keep running?" She didn't answer.
Flames ignited on his feet, his body disappeared. ' Where?' she looked around but didn't see him.
She suddenly felt danger from above. Burning hot air hit her first as if a meteor was dropping on her head.
She looked up and there he was. His massive axe dropped on her like a massive red comet.
' I can't dodge.' he was too fast, all she managed to do was raise her sword above her.
As soon as the axe touched the sword, she tilted it. The axe slid off the sword and fell to the ground but the force was still powerful enough to push her back, she skidded a few kilometres away.
Naledi gritted her teeth, it was getting harder to hold on. The orc raised it axe to the sky, the flames on the blade grew higher and hotter.
The world for tens of kilometres lit up from the flames. Cat turned and looked up, her hands were shaking from anxiety.
" Please be safe." She whispered then turned back to assist with the evacuations. Naledi held her sword tightly.
The flames condensed around the axe blade making it look like one of those plasma weapons from the sci-fi movies.
Then he swung it down. A massive crescent slash that seemed to reach the sky flew at her.
The ground was split apart like tofu. The slash was moving too fast, she couldn't dodge it.
She raised her sword to block. The temperature around her grew so hot she started sweating.
Her hair danced in the air like curtains in the wind. The slash reached her, she placed her sword horizontally Infront her.
When they clashed there was no shockwave. Instead she was pushed back powerlessly, her feet drew long trenches on the ground.
Her hands turned red from the heat and she gritted her teeth through the pain. She felt her bones crack and a new wave of fear hit her.
Although her body was capable of regenerating on it own, it was very slow without her essence. If her arms broke, she would be in deep trouble.
After skidding back for tens of kilometres she stopped. Her entire body was shaking from the pressure.
Steam rose from her body as her sweat evaporated. She knelt down and took heavy breaths.
She turned her head to look towards the city. She could still hear the people scattering trying to escape even from this distance.
However they were too slow for her liking. She knew this orc was just toying with them. If he wanted he could've sent his army at them.
Or attack the city himself, there was nothing Naledi could do stop him, unless she was willing to injure her soul.
And right now, she was really considering it. The orc's expression changed. The excitement in his eyes disappeared.
" Enough playing." He turned his head towards the city. " No" she whispered, Naledi couldn't let him attack.
She kicked off the ground and flew at him like a bolt of lightning. Even without the enhancement of essence or image.
Her body was still much faster and stronger than when she was a rank 4. She covered the over 30 kilometres distance in a split second.
She stabbed her sword at his face. He raised his massive hand. His movements appeared slow but before she could react he grabbed her sword.
Mist rose as the cold sword was clasped by the burning hot hand. " Such a pity,I would've loved to fight you at your full strength, but I have my orders."
He raised his axe. Naledi felt a cold sensation clasped her neck. The feeling of death became so real she could swear she could grab it with her hands.
She knew she couldn't dodge or block this attack, not unless she goes all out but that would damage her, might even lead to her death.
She gritted her teeth, her eyes grew cold with resolve that shook the orc. Just as she was about to forcefully use her essence.
A golden light lit up besides them blinding both of them for moment. This caught both of them off guard. They saw a golden array appear.
Naledi knew what was coming and she felt fear grip her heart. " No, why?" She whispered. Before either of them could react.
A fist surrounded by a blue mist that froze the air hit the orc on the face. The fist was too weak to cause any damage but it was enough to distract him.
Naledi used that chance to break free and retreat with the new figure. She turned to look at the person next to her with anger and despair.
" I told you to go, why did you come back?"
