Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 202: Tears of the Princess

As Ved looked at his status he noticed a few things. One, his herculean strength and flash trait were significantly more powerful.

However the most glaring change about them became obvious a moment later when he tried to activate herculean strength and he couldn't.

" Ah, system, what the hell is happening? Why can't I use herculean strength?" The system answered in an annoyed tone.

" Isn't it obvious, that's a passive trait, how do you expect to actively use it?" Ved shook his head.

" That doesn't make sense, I could actively use them before." The system sounded more irritated.

" I shouldn't even be explaining this to you, before, your soul was still that of a human. That caused a misalignment between your body and soul.

You were more like a soul possessing the body of another, as a result, trait which were supposed to have fully merged with your body remained stuck to your soul.

Because of that you needed to use their parent ability, the trait assimilation ability to use them.

If you remember correctly, you couldn't use them when you couldn't utilise your will which mostly depends on your soul which is necessary to use abilities.

Only the iron scales trait was usable and that's only because it was partially passive which is why it also got weaker when you couldn't use your will.

However when you finally let go of your humanity you so foolishly held on to, your soul merged with your body and your traits finally took their true forms thus becoming more powerful.

Now iron scales, herculean strength and flash represent the full durability, strength and speed of your physical body, respectively, without enhancements like the ignition ability or soul force of course.

And I know you're going to ask this but the reason the extra points are gone is because they were used to make the assimilation of traits to your body more smooth."

She was one hundred percent right, he was going to ask about that. " I see, that makes sense, second question. Why the fuck do I not have a single trait slot? What the hell happened to my trait slots."

" Your trait slots? Wow the entitlement, I mean they were yours but still, they were a gift, you should be grateful you even had any."

" You know, I liked you more without a personality." " And I don't like you at all but we both stuck with each other so suck it up."

Ved clicked his tongue, this system Manas was really infuriating. " Anyways, your soul as I said has reached maturity, like a child reaching adulthood and leaving their parents house, the traits slots were means to assist you during your infant stages.

Now that you've fully condensed an image, the system assistance will be minimal." Ved was quiet for a bit.

" You said minimal which means it isn't zero, that good enough." He checked a few more things about himself.

As expected, he couldn't activate his image at will but just to test something, he drove his claws to his lungs.

Then he felt his image shift, he couldn't bring it out as he was not in life threatening danger but the wound was enough to activate a portion of the dragon's enhancement ability.

Although it was a watered down version, it was still better than nothing. However he had to admit.

Even with the harsh conditions, his image was insanely powerful. The physical enhancement alone was ridiculous.

Then the trees ability to keep him alive made him harder to kill than a cockroach and he was talking about when he was still rank 4.

Before he painted the full image, the effect must be significantly stronger now that he has painted the image.

After he checked the partial effect of his image he stood up. " Avery " she appeared through the shadows.

" I'm going out." He removed a piece of his scale imbued with his will and gave it to her. " If you need me, inject your will there and we can talk."

This was an ability of every true dragon, it was quite handy. Avery was taken by surprise.

Ever since she started serving her lord, she had never once seen him fully leave the safe bounds of the minor world.

He always sent out his avatars, most people, including those closest to him like lady White still believed the lord had two avatars.

After all, when they took action they did it on different continents making it harder for people to communicate and expose him.

However she knew better, she knew the lord had four avatars, not that she would ever disclose that information to anybody, not even her closest family.

Before he left he turned to her, " Where's Nal?" Avery raised her glasses. " My lord, tower spirit Nal is currently busy trying to prevent the invaders from taking over the clone towers."

Ved understood, " I see, I suppose that another thing to take care of, well then, I'll be off."

His body teleported and he appeared outside the minor world. For the first time in years, he was fully out of the minor world.

It felt strange but he wasn't anxious, not like before. He realised changing his image changed something else inside him.

It made him less cautious, not entirely reckless but more willing to take a risk if he can benefit which he most likely will.

His desire to grow more powerful seemed to rival his cautiousness, while he wouldn't foolishly send himself to death.

As long as he can see a chance of survival, he was fine with certain levels of danger. Of course the moment something happened to one of his avatars, he's sending one back into the minor world for safety.

Ved turned his attention East, " I wonder where you are." He whispered then used stealth trait to make himself blend with the clouds.

He flew towards the shores of South Africa to look for somebody.

----------------------------------------------------------

Currently that somebody stood at the centre of a massive snowstorm with cold eyes devoid of any emotions.

Around her was an army of a race of people who looked like centaurs but instead of their lower bodies being horses, they looked like crabs.

And their upper bodies were grey. This was a race called the Centarols. Although not a slave race, they were vassals of the Alvadon of the dark elves.

Infact, their current leader was a noble from the dark elf race. The army was currently struggling to withstand the storm.

They couldn't even get close to her but she didn't attack them, she just continued walking forward slowly.

Wherever she passed, bodies remained frozen like statues. She didn't do this intentionally.

The ice of sorrows had gotten too strong, her mind has sunk deeper into her despair. Currently she could only maintain a shred of herself.

However once she loses that, she was afraid everything on this continent would eventually stand frozen, billions will die because of her.

However she couldn't extract her self, she couldn't heal from her pain for some reason, the more she thinks about it, the sadder and lonelier she got.

She looked up but she couldn't see anything on the clouds, yet a tear fell down her eye. She wiped it with confusion on her face, some part of her returned at that moment.
