Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 208: Magic

The priest stopped. " Show yourself." Nobody answered. The priest looked around but saw no one.

Ved watched the priest from the roof of his clone tower. Even though they were separated by tens of kilometres, he could still see him clearly.

He felt soul sense wash over him but he was certain the priest wouldn't be able to see him with stealth trait active.

As expected, the priest didn't listen to him and tried to help those people. Ved sighed and snapped his fingers. BOOOOM.

A cloud of blue fire appeared next to him. The cathedral was engulfed in the flames. It roof flew through the air.

It walls crumbled alongside all the scriptures and treasures inside. " NOOOOOO." the priest roared and rushed back.

Ved watched him scramble through the still blazing flames. With his power, flames of this level could barely effect him.

Light exploded out of him blasting the flames away. The cathedral appeared in ruins.

It melted golden walls dripped like molten gold. Everything inside was destroyed except a golden scepter and the statue.

" Hoh." Ved was intrigued. That explosion had the power of a projection realm. Had he not contained it within the cathedral, it could've destroyed this entire city.

For these two objects to survive it without even a scratch. They had to be at the very least rank 5 artefacts of legendary grade or higher.

However Ved couldn't smell any essence from them, they didn't feel like artefacts but merely mortal grade common weapons.

It was strange. He really wanted to steal them and have the Mammoth and Ravera clans study them.

However he honestly wouldn't be able to easily defeat the priest right now. Not only was the priest adorned in multiple artefacts, Ved himself was mentally drained.

Creating so many mind prisons and controlling so many people at once took a toll on his mental strength on top of him having to maintain the human form.

Infact he couldn't maintain it for longer, he doubted he would be able to last another 3 hours before having to turn back to his dragon form.

" I KNOW YOU'RE THERE, SHOW YOURSELF COWARD." The priest shouted with a rage filled voice.

' hee-hee-hee, I told you not to do it, by the way, if you try anything, I've planted many more explosives like that all over the city, you're a smart guy, you get the gist.'

The priest grew quiet. He obviously didn't want to believe it but if the hidden enemy was telling the truth, the consequences wouldn't be something he can handle.

He couldn't afford any more failures. He ran his soul sense through the city but found nothing.

However he couldn't discover the hidden enemy either so maybe those things were hidden with the same ability. His shoulders slumped and he sat down. He looked tired and like he aged a hundred years in seconds.

' good choice.' Ved thought to himself. He wasn't lying when he said he planted those nuclear bombs all over the city.

4000 of them to be exact, each one with enough power to destroy this city 5 times over.

While Ved had no desire to harm innocence he wouldn't hesitate if his hand was forced. Seeing the prince had given up he flew off.

But he did leave a small clone behind to monitor things. After reaching rank 5 his avatar trait evolved as well.

They can switch places regardless of distance, his hearts can regenerate faster if destroyed and he can control the clones from much much further away.

Ved landed on the forest outside the city. He transformed back into his true form. His stealth changed to match the forest becoming one with it.

Then he dozed off to sleep to regenerate his mental energy.

----------------------------------------------------------

Ved one smiled after recieving the memories from Ved 2 and 3 who had merged. He looked at the white dome on his back.

It was a temporal shelter he created for Naledi. After his tear landed on her, she regained clarity then fell unconscious.

Ved decided to carry her and find a safer place. However that won't be easy, even after falling unconscious she still passively created a snowstorm around her.

It was much weaker than before but it was still enough to kill mortals in seconds if they have no protection.

The good thing is, it was no longer the snow of sorrows. The snow didn't try to drown him in her emotions anymore.

It was just cold. As Ved flew with a snowstorm around him he suddenly felt two presences Infront of him.

Ved stopped, two humans appeared. A handsome man with long black hair. The man was dressed in silver armour with a long white cape behind him.

On his side was a long sword whose guard had a green crystal. The man looked like an imposing knight.

Next to him was a woman with long silver hair. The woman was dressed like a witch, with the standard pointy hat and long purple rode with long slits on the sides.

She was carrying a wooden staff that had a milky crystal. Ved could sense a different type of energy on that crystal, he was unfamiliar with it.

" Mystical energy " whispered Manas as Ved had named her. ' What is that?' she replied, her voice sounding grim.

" You know of the different dimensions right?" He nodded. " Mystical energy is from the mystic realm, also known as the realm of magic."

Ved nodded. ' I see.' he replied without much interest. " I don't think you do." Ved clicked his tongue.

' What the hell are you fussing about, I'll take care of this.' Manas sighed. " Don't underestimate magic Ved, there's a reason very few beings can use it.

Have you heard of genies?" He was intrigued. ' Yeah, the wish granters or something?'

" Yes, they're from the mystic realm too, their wish granting abilities are..." Before she could finish Ved's attention was drawn by the woman's voice.

" Hello there." Ved looked at her but said nothing. She didn't seem to mind, she smiled at him seductively.

" Would you mind giving us the person on your back, I would really appreciate it." Ved replied in his deep voice.

" Who might you be?"
