" Volstone? You're marquis Volstone?" Ved asked with a growl. The old man chuckled, " It seems you've heard of me, I suppose I should introduce myself.

I'm Adorn Volstone, the third marquis of the house, perhaps the one you think of is my incompetent grandson."

Ved understood now, this man was not the current marquis, his grandson was but that made no sense.

From what Ved gathered the current marquis was at the law comprehension realm.

And he only had a heaven grade vessel, it made no sense for an old man such as this with a mythical grade vessel to only be at the projection realm.

A possibility appeared in his head and his face turned grim. However he couldn't confirm it.

And it didn't matter, what mattered right now was taking down this old man. He took a Kung Fu stance.

" Come." The old man smiled gently and attacked. He turned into a streak of red light and flew at Ved.

Ved opened his mouth and fired a beam of nuclear energy but it grew weaker as it approached Volstone.

By the time it reached him it was weak enough for him to casually swat it away like a fly.

Ved slashed his claws at him but Volstone spun in a strange way dodging his massive claws.

" Volstone Arts: Gently palm." Volstone slapped Ved on the arm gently. A tremendous force pierced throughout his scales ignoring his defense.

His muscles and veins exploded, his arm fell limply to the side giving Volstone an opportunity.

An experienced warrior like him would never miss such a chance. He drew closer and hit Ved on the chest with the same palm strike.

Ved coughed up blood, one of his heart exploded like a balloon. Had he been a normal beast, even an average dragon, this would've been a dangerous situation.

However he just stabbed with his tail, the air screamed as the tail cut through it like a spear.

Simultaneously he created a cocoon around the two of them. Volstone simply tilted his body and tapped the tip of the tail deflecting it up.

The tail bone cracked from the force. The cocoon closed around them. Instead of being worried Volstone simply smiled.

" You think you've trapped me boy? No, you're trapped yourself with me." Ved's wounds had healed except the heart.

It was still healing. Before Volstone could attack, a dark feature appeared above Ved, it looked like a deep dark cave entrance.

Out poured a waterfall of golden light, it bathed Ved making his body glow like the sun.

His aura grew stronger, Volstone frowned however Ved didn't wait for him to attack. His entire body shone with blue light.

The old man raised his fists, the gauntlet shone with blinding red light, the light converged and formed a tight barrier around Volstone.

Nuclear flames exploded out of Ved filling the entire cocoon, the temperature was so high if could melt entire mountains. When the flames disappeared they both appeared unharmed.

Ved forrowed his brows, " Have you analysed my energy?" He asked even though he didn't expect an answer.

Volstone looked surprised, " Ho, you seem to know about my ability, well no point lying to a child, it won't change anything.

No, I have not analysed your energy, it's quite a strange type of energy, it's obviously some lower form of energy that contains a little bit of heat.

Yet, I can't wrap my head around it, it makes me wonder how you discovered such energy, surely there must've been more powerful form of energy for you to utilise.

Even though I cannot understand this type of energy I can tell it's only special because it's in your hands.

As for why I can neutralise it, it's simple really..." Before the old man can finish Ved heard Manas Voice.

" Brute force." ' Huh?' " He can't neutralise it through understanding so he went with the cruse method.

Pour enough of his ability to basically overpower your nuclear energy, however this method drains more energy when used."

Ved almost grinned, ' So that means I just have to outlast him?' he didn't receive an answer and figured he was right.

If nuclear energy won't work then he won't use it. He opened his mouth and out came black mist.

It filled the entire cocoon in a split moment, however he realised it failed to go through the red barrier.

Volstone waived his hand through the black death mist. " Interesting, if my skin was touched by this, I'm afraid even I would have some trouble dealing with it.

I'm glad I'm the one who fought you, you might've given the others more trouble than even that little dragon girl."

Ved was surprised, black death miasma can burn through even energy but it failed to go through the red barrier.

" Shall we continue?" Volstone asked in a relaxed tone, before Ved could even respond he attacked.

Volstone took a step and appeared Infront of him, in a split moment five palm strikes landed on his stomach.

He couldn't help but curl and blood leaked from the conor of his mouth, he felt his intestines twist and being shredded.

More golden light poured into him increasing his strength, durability and speed yet it was still not enough.

Volstone moved as if he can see Ved's moves beforehand, it was uncanny and frustrating.

He moved in the most efficient way. Ved swiped his massive claws at him generating heavy winds.

Volstone shifted only a few centimetres then tapped the tip of Ved's claws with just enough force to divert the entire arm.

The force pulled his entire body forward, before he can readjust himself, a palm landed on his side cracking a rib.

Ved gritted his teeth through the pain and retreated. The only two reasons he was still relatively okay was because he was much larger than Volstone.

More than 25 times larger, this gave him more surface area to absorb Volstone's attacks thus reducing the overall damage to his body.

Secondly it was regeneration which can keep Ved alive even if he lost all of his organs as long as the brain remains active.

Ved spit the blood on his throat. He was about to use soul force when he heard Manas shouting in his heard.

" Done." He grinned, ' Finally.'
