Ved turned and saw a pale woman in pitch black clothes. Her eyes were a deep black like an abyss.

An aura of death emanated from her. He knew immediately who it was the moment he saw her.

" Pale Reaper." He whispered. She raised her head, her face filled with confusion. " Is that my name? Do you know me? Can you help me?

It hurt, it hurt so much, I'm so thirsty and cold, I'm so hungry, so hungry, can you help me? Are you like me?"

Ved tensed and took a step back, she was not like he had expected. Her voice was low and filled with confusion.

However he could feel the terrifying aura aminating from her. He could see the evil behind her eyes.

Yet he saw something else behind them, briefly but it was like pain. He shook his head.

' Probably a trick.' " Ved, this the bringer of doom, a child of the herald of Plagues, do not engage."

' Child of the herald? This is not the herald? How did she get here without me noticing?' her answer came a moment later.

" Not it's not the herald but don't underestimate her and she didn't get here without you noticing.

She just teleported her, normally people shouldn't be able to see her accept in a few instances where she reveals herself to those compatible

but your soul is powerful enough to pierce through her veil. However I still advise you against fighting her."

' Why? Is she strong?' no answer came. The bringer of doom turned her head and looked at the fields.

" Food." She reached out to grab them but when she outstretched her hand the crops closest to her started withering.

Ved growled, " Take your hand away." She raised her head and looked at him with confusion.

" I'm sorry, I should've asked, can I have these, I'm so hungry." Ved was caught by surprise.

He stood there frozen not knowing what to say. She also didn't move and continued watching him.

" Ah ye..." Before he could finish a massive bolt of lightning descended from the sky like a spear and pierced towards her.

They both raised their heads but before they could react the lightning bolt landed. The ground gave in and a massive hole appeared.

Yet the devastation never went beyond five metres around the centre so the fields were not effected.

When the dust cleared she appeared floating above the hole. " Why? Why won't anybody help me, did I do something wrong, why does everybody hate me."

She raised her eyes and glared at him. " You are not like me, you won't help me either, like all of them you refuse to help me."

" Wait.." she disappeared before he could stop her. Linglong suddenly landed besides him.

" Was that.." she asked, he nodded. " I don't think she meant any harm, she was in pain and just needed help." He said in a sad voice.

Linglong looked at him and shook her head. " I panicked, I sensed a terrible aura around you and immediately attacked without thinking."

She apologised, he shook his head. " It's fine, I have a feeling we'll meet each other again."

They both flew off, the rats, mosquitoes and crickets were gone. He closed his chambers behind him and left instructions that nobody should get in.

The reason for that was simple, around him and Linglong were massive clusters of dark particles.

He noticed them around the bringer of doom as well, infact they came from her but didn't feel like they were hers.

They tried to get through his scales and succeeded but didn't have much effect on him.

On the contrary he could feel them entering his poison sac and strengthening his poison but it was not the same for Linglong.

She was only holding on because she's a dragon and had an incredibly powerful body but those particles were eating at her.

After fully assimilating the ones in his into his poison he tried removing the ones inside her.

However he found out he couldn't interact with them using his will at all, they just phased through it.

This was mostly why Linglong couldn't expell them fast enough. However he still needed to remove her or they will greatly weaken her.

Being weakened in the current state of the world was probably the most dangerous thing that could happen to you.

He still had no idea how to do it then an idea came to him but he shoved it down. Disregarding if Linglong would even agree, it would feel wrong.

Then he sighed. ' Forgive me.' he thought in his head then jumped on Linglong and pressed her on the ground.

Her body was much longer than his but much slimmer as well. In her weakened state she couldn't resist.

" Relax, I'm going to suck the particles out of you." She grinned. " I wasn't complaining." He shook his head at her remark.

He should've expected a dragon to not be shy about this. Dragons were famous for being horny, whether female or male.

The only reason he didn't go around sleeping with every female he meet was because his mind wasn't fully that of a dragon.

And his heart already belonged to another but calling resisting easy would be a lie. His body didn't agree with his mind.

The truth was, he got stimulated very easy which is why he mostly chooses to lock himself up in his room most of the time.

Only Nal and Avery get to interact with him more often and Avery never stays long enough for him to get too tempted.

He was certain of he asked her Avery would say yes but he didn't want that. Naledi would kill him.

He looked at the dragon below him and gritted his teeth. If there was another way he would not do this.

He kissed her then sucked the particles out of her into himself. However the process was slow.

The longer they stayed connected the hotter his body got but he could feel hers already burning up.

She wrapped her serpentine body around him which stimulated him even more. She started breaking heavy and he could tell she was in extreme heat.

Just as things were about to escalate he sucked out all of the particles out of her. She tried to grab him and pull him closer.

' Shit.'
