A commotion soon began to stir as Aron's body, seated in deep meditation, started to shine.
Above him, an enormous illusory figure of himself appeared in the sky, also seated in the same meditative pose, eyes closed, radiating silent majesty.
Thunder rolled.
Rings of lightning rippled angrily across the heavens, tearing the morning sky apart.
The once lush forest, the greenery, and everything within it vanished, as though an unseen dome had been shattered, revealing an endless desert stretching beyond sight.
Aron's real body remained seated, trails of blood running down his cheeks as his glow intensified into a blinding white.
His illusionary form in the sky mirrored him perfectly, growing larger and brighter, towering above the barren wasteland.
Around him, his clones stood firm, expressionless despite being cast into this barren wasteland.
They formed a protective formation, unmoving and unyielding, their sole purpose clear: to defend their master.
The baby-like being who had been watching Aron raised its gaze to the sky.
Its tiny eyes widened at the sight of the colossal illusory figure meditating amidst the thunderclouds.
"The Seven Tribulations of Sainthood…" it murmured in trembling awe.
"Sainthood," it whispered again, snapping its head toward Aron's body in shock.
But unease soon filled its expression.
Something was off.
The thunder above grew restless, its roars deepening, lightning thickening, spiraling out of control.
Far away, across different corners of the plane, monsters turned toward the growing storm.
Whirlwinds crackled with divine energy, and the sky itself seemed to hum with power.
Across the world distant lands, countless monsters turned their gazes toward the storm's center.
Whirlwinds crackled with divine energy.
One by one, familiars throughout the world, be they kings or common beasts, fell to their knees in reverence.
A single truth echoed within every soul:
A Saint cannot be blasphemed.
All bowed… except for two beings.
The baby-like creature.
And far, far away... Thousands of miles from Aron's location, sat a humanoid monstrosity of bones.
Golden blood flowed through its skeletal form, bone beads draped around its body.
It sat upon a throne made entirely of bones, surrounded by an aura of death so thick that even space itself seemed to rot.
Suddenly, a spark of purple light flared within its hollow eye sockets, eyes that blazed with fury as they pierced through space, locking onto a diamond bead that glowed like a star, the same bead Aron held in his clasped hands.
The skeletal being's anger erupted.
The deathly aura surrounding it intensified, shaking the realm it sat within.
Then, without warning, it vanished, bolting through space like a streak of light, racing toward Aron's location.
--
Aron's feet touched the ground.
His copy stood before him, Desperately manipulating abilities as streams of water conjured and surged like spears toward his chest.
But before reaching him, the water lost form and fell, splashing harmlessly to the ground.
The clone tried again, this time attempting to control the earth to trap Aron, but that too failed miserably.
Aron didn't move.
His voice was calm, yet filled with quiet defiance.
"So what if I refuse to let go of my ego? No being can stop me from getting what I want."
He took another step forward, his expression unreadable.
"Who are you to decide if I'm worthy of transcendence?"
A smirk curved his lips.
"Is transcendence… worthy of me?"
BOOOOOOM!
Thunder exploded across the heavens.
The sound echoed in every living being's soul:
"A Saint cannot be blasphemed."
The skeletal monstrosity, flying at light speed, suddenly slowed.
Its hollow eyes widened in disbelief at the storm gathering ahead.
The baby-creature beside Aron backed away instinctively, dread slowly crawling up its spine.
Then, one by one, Aron's clones began to crumble into nothingness.
Their deaths instantly reflected upon his body.
His once dark hair turned pure white, his face aging in mere seconds, as if every heartbeat drained his lifespan.
Yet, his eyes remained closed.
His body continued to shine, and the massive avatar of light above him mirrored his form, both glowing brighter and brighter until they were almost blinding.
"There is nothing I want that I will not have," Aron said, his voice steady.
"Nothing can stand in my way. Be it a god much less a punny Sainthood, if any dares stand before me, I will slay."
Thunder boomed.
"If fate dares to defy my wishes," he continued, "I'll tear it down and rewrite one that doesn't dare."
Thunder boomed again.
"My wishes are certainty."
BOOM.
"My words are law."
BOOM.
"My being… is absolute supremacy."
As the final word left his lips, the heavens themselves convulsed.
The thunder of tribulation, fused with divine law, howled and struck down.
The baby-like creature had already fled several kilometers away, trembling as it gazed at the sky.
For the first time, its eyes were filled with genuine fear and tremdation.
Even the skeletal monarch, who had arrived from a long distance, dared not step closer.
It stood still, trembling faintly as its gaze locked on Aron.
Both gazed upon the old man at the center of the storm.
Aron sat cross-legged, beads clasped in bloodstained hands, his face streaked with dried blood yet calm, serene and divine, as though untouched by the chaos around him.
Then, his lips moved.
"My authority cannot be challenged."
"My authority is not a certainty."
"My authority is not a rule."
His eyes suddenly opened, blazing with light.
"My authority… is absolute. My authority is unmatched. My authority is..."
He raised his hand toward the heavens.
His glowing avatar moved in perfect harmony with him. Both spoke as one:
"...the Way of Life."
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The heavens split open.
