Chapter 449

"I never expected the Royal Beast Sect to have such a young and powerful Supreme as its backer."

The middle-aged man's voice was low and cautious, stripped of its earlier arrogance.

"It won't be easy to obtain the Eight Strange and Ferocious Beasts today."

"We are members of the Infinite Beast Sect from the southern region of Sunpetal Reach," he continued solemnly.

"We don't know who you are, nor do we intend to offend you. We only came here to look for a monster."

The old man slowly withdrew his palm. Behind his back, his fingers trembled faintly, the movement subtle but undeniable.

He had felt it clearly just now.

That young man in the sky carried no trace of spiritual energy.

Only an oppressive physical presence that distorted the surrounding space, as if the world itself had grown heavier.

A pure physical cultivator.

And not an ordinary one.

This was the first time in his long life that he had encountered a physical cultivator so terrifying that even an Upper Supreme instinctively felt danger.

"Sunpetal Reach, southern region… Infinite Beast Sect?"

Ethan narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Tell me your names."

"I am Kale of the Infinite Beast Sect," the old man replied calmly.

"That is our Young Master, Aemon."

The middle-aged man followed. "John. Also from the Infinite Beast Sect."

"Young Master of the Infinite Beast Sect…"

Ethan smiled faintly.

"Interesting."

When he had stayed in the Blood Tavern, he had heard countless discussions about this sect. A dominant beast controlling force of Sunpetal Reach's southern coast, a power that stood on the same level as the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets.

At this moment, hidden among the elders of the Royal Beast Sect, Alister's eyes flickered violently.

Fear, hatred, and desperation twisted together as he looked toward Kale and the others.

"Senior Kale," Alister transmitted hurriedly, his divine sense trembling, "something is wrong. Alix's realm has fallen below Mahayana. Judging by his direction, he's heading for the forbidden area. The guardian beast is there."

"I can seize it while he's unprepared and deliver it to you!"

"I only ask one thing—take me away. I'm willing to join the Infinite Beast Sect!"

His thoughts raced chaotically.

The situation had already collapsed.

Alix and Shia had returned alive—and worse, they had brought back a Supreme who completely dominated the battle.

If the Royal Beast Sect survived today, he would have no path left but death.

This was his only chance.

Kale's eyes flickered slightly.

After a brief pause, his reply came through the transmission.

"Hurry. That man is unfathomable. Once you get the guardian beast, don't return here. Leave immediately and send me a signal."

"With strength against us, tactics are our only option."

That young man was terrifying, but he stood alone.

If this plan failed, they would simply cut ties, retreat with the Young Master, and regroup. When the Infinite Beast Sect descended in full force, even this monster would be forced to yield.

Alister slowly retreated, blending into the crowd.

But Nox had never taken his eyes off him.

"Sect Leader!"

Nox's roar echoed across the battlefield.

"Alister has fled! He betrayed the sect's core secrets and even intends to seize the position of sect Leader!"

Shia's expression instantly darkened.

"Alister…" Her voice turned cold as frost.

"Our sect never treated him unfairly."

"First Elder, Third Elder, Seventh Elder—go capture him!"

"He didn't flee outward!" someone shouted urgently.

"He followed the Supreme Elder!"

Shia's pupils contracted sharply.

"Then his target is—"

"Evil Mantis," Ethan said calmly, cutting her off.

He turned his head slightly.

"Solara. Go."

"Okay, Daddy!"

Flames erupted behind Solara's back as a pair of magnificent fire wings spread open. With a single beat, she vanished into the sky, leaving behind only a scorching trail.

Aemon's expression changed dramatically.

"That aura… an Intermediate Demon Lord, late stage!"

John swallowed hard. "A demon lord of this level… serving at his side?"

Kale's aged face tightened. For a fleeting moment, greed flashed across his eyes before he forcefully suppressed it.

Survival came first.

Ethan's gaze returned to the three from the Infinite Beast Sect.

"I don't care where you come from," he said evenly.

"You slaughtered people of the Royal Beast Sect."

"You owe a price."

Aemon clenched his fists until blood seeped from his palms.

Since birth, he had been hailed as a prodigy, the pride of the Infinite Beast Sect. Never once had anyone dared threaten him so openly.

"Who do you think you are?" he snarled.

"You dare—"

Ethan glanced at him.

Just a glance.

The air around Aemon froze, his breath hitching as an instinctive terror surged from the depths of his soul.

"Oh?" Ethan smiled faintly.

"You still don't understand your position?"

"I'll give you three minutes," he continued calmly.

"Decide how you want to pay."

"If I'm not satisfied—"

"Then you die."

The words were gentle.

The meaning was merciless.

Before Aemon could respond, a voice echoed from the distant horizon.

"Dad! I caught him!"

A streak of flame tore through the sky as Solara returned, gripping a blood-soaked figure.

Alister.

His cultivation was sealed, bones shattered, his aura barely clinging to life.

From departure to return—barely a minute passed.

To Solara, a Mahayana cultivator was nothing more than prey.

"Cough… cough…"

Alister spat blood, trembling as he stretched out a hand.

"Senior Kale… save me…"

"You know each other?" Ethan asked.

Kale didn't even glance at Alister.

"Your Excellency jokes," Kale said calmly.

"How could someone of the Infinite Beast Sect know a traitor from the Royal Beast Sect thousands of miles away?"

Alister's pupils shrank violently.

"You—!"

Despair flooded his face as his last hope shattered.

Solara snorted softly and flicked her wrist.

"Here."

She tossed Alister forward like trash.

"Thank you, Miss Solara," Shia said coldly.

She caught the seriously injured Alister, then without hesitation hurled him to the ground. His body rolled across the dust and stones, finally stopping in a heap of blood and dirt.

Right at Nox's feet.
