Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method

Chapter 243: Supplement Lab: Heaven or Horror?

Mersha's eyes widened so much her glasses almost slipped off.

"Y-You want me to make the supplement even better…?"

Garion nodded without hesitation.

"Indeed. You're from a poison clan, right? That means you understand ingredients, reactions, mixtures, and doses better than anyone here."

Mersha fidgeted with her fingers.

"But… but Master… I excel in poisoning people, not improving supplements that help people. It's different."

Garion laughed loudly, leaning back in his chair.

"Mersha, have you ever heard this sentence?"

He raised a finger dramatically.

'All things are poison, and nothing is without poison. Only the dose decides if something is not a poison.'

Mersha tilted her head. "I've… never heard that before, Master."

Garion smiled and explained.

"Exactly what I said. Anything can be poison."

He tapped the glowing bottle on the table.

"And anything poisonous can become useful if the dose is right."

Mersha blinked, confused. "So… you mean… the only difference between poison and medicine is the amount?"

Garion nodded.

"Correct. You already understand how to calculate lethal doses. That means you also understand how to calculate a safe dose."

He leaned forward.

"You know how to create danger… which means you can create safety too."

Mersha lowered her gaze, her voice small.

"But… I never learned healing formulas. Or medical mixtures. Or proper supplement care. I don't know anything about creating beneficial things…"

Garion gently tapped her forehead with one finger.

"That's why you'll learn."

Mersha looked up at him, surprised.

Garion pointed toward the massive divine door leading back into the dojo.

"The [Divine Dojo] has a library filled with books about herbs, medicines, alchemy, and advanced brewing. All the knowledge you need is there."

Mersha blinked softly, unsure. "…Really?"

Garion nodded with his arms crossed, proudly smiling.

"Dozens of books. Auto-organized. They float to you if you ask."

He tapped her forehead gently.

"You just need to read. And test."

Mersha frowned, fingers tapping against each other nervously.

"I… I'll try, Master. But what if I mess up?" She rubbed her arm.

"What if I accidentally make actual poison instead? And… I can't test it. We only have cadavers. No living subjects."

Garion smirked, already expecting that question.

"Don't worry about that. I've already figured it out."

He turned around. "Follow me."

Mersha hurried behind him like a tiny ghostly shadow.

Garion led her toward the very back of the Divine Cafeteria.

Down a short hallway, he stopped in front of a door with a glowing symbol.

He pushed it open, and Mersha's eyes widened instantly.

Inside was a room filled with strange, shiny equipment she had never seen in her entire life.

Mersha covered her mouth. "W-What is all this…?"

Garion stepped inside proudly.

"Welcome to the supplement lab of the [Divine Cafeteria]."

He spread his arms wide.

"This is where you will learn, create, test, and perfect every supplement for the God Gym."

Mersha took slow steps inside, her eyes darting from machine to machine.

"This place… it feels like another world."

Garion chuckled. "It should. My special relic made most of this. Even I'm still learning some of the functions."

He then walked to a small pedestal and pointed at something lying on top of it.

It was a simple-looking doll with neutral expressions and a soft body.

Mersha tilted her head. "…A doll?"

Garion picked it up and held it in front of her.

"This isn't just a doll. This is a [Divine Doll]."

He tapped its chest, and lines of light spread across its body.

"This doll can be preset to match any body type, any physical condition, and any cultivation stage... up to the second realm."

Mersha gasped softly. "It… it can mimic a real person?"

Garion smirked and nodded.

"Exactly. Whatever supplement you feed it, whatever mixture you spray, inject, or test... It will react like a real living human."

He wiggled the doll's arm at her.

"So you don't need real test subjects. Whatever happens to the doll will tell you the effect precisely."

Mersha walked closer, eyes shining.

"Amazing… I never thought something like this would exist…"

Garion stroked his chin.

"Well, this is the God Gym. We don't do things normally."

She smiled shyly. "True…"

Garion then led her to another large piece of equipment.

It was something shaped like a massive box with a glowing rectangle on the front.

It looked like a giant, magical flat-screen television.

"Here," Garion said, patting the side, "is where you can check all current God Gym supplement formulas."

The screen lit up instantly, displaying formulas for [Demonic Creatine], [Demonic Protein], and other terrifying supplements.

Mersha gasped again. "I can read all of this…?"

Garion nodded.

"And modify it. Combine it. Improve it."

Then he pointed at a floating crystal next to the screen.

"And this is connected to the God Gym's main spatial storage. You can summon any ingredient we have: herbs, minerals, beast parts, essence powders, anything."

Mersha's jaw dropped.

"W–Wait… anything? Even precious items from the sect treasury?"

Garion nodded casually. "Of course."

Mersha waved her hands nervously.

"B-But Master! Those are valuable! Rare! Shouldn't we save them?!"

Garion smirked and placed his hand gently on her head.

"Mersha."

She froze.

"A treasure is only valuable if it's used. Herbs sitting in a chest are useless. Supplements made from them can strengthen our disciples and strengthen our sect."

He pulled his hand back and crossed his arms.

"If we hoard everything out of fear, our enemies will just become stronger and take those treasures anyway."

Mersha lowered her gaze.

"…That makes sense."

Garion smiled warmly.

"So. Use everything you need. Don't hold back."

She looked at the lab again, filled with shimmering tools, glowing shelves, and the divine doll slowly blinking awake.

Her heart thumped with excitement.

"…Master," she whispered, "I'll do it. I'll learn everything. I'll make supplements that help everyone grow strong."

Garion nodded proudly.

"That's what I want to hear."

He stepped aside and gestured toward the lab, offering her the entire room.

"Mersha of the God Gym. From today onward, this is your domain."

Mersha took a deep breath.

Then she stepped forward into the center of the lab. Her hands trembled with excitement.

"I won't disappoint you, Master Garion."

Garion smirked.

"I know you won't."

He turned around to leave but paused at the doorway.

"And Mersha?"

She looked up.

"Yes, Master?"

Garion gave her a dangerous grin.

"Let's create something this world has never seen."

Mersha smiled for the first time with genuine confidence.

"Yes."
