After patting the giant dragon who behaved like an obedient pet, Aegon smiled and ordered him to get aside so that others could enter too.
The dragon was covering the whole entrance with its big head, after all.
Vhagar licked his hand once again, then pushed against the God's Hand as he flew into the skies, his wide wings sending howling winds everywhere.
Right after his departure, another dragon landed, its long neck easily passing through the entrance. Once it was inside, the Dragon Rider jumped from the top, revealing herself to be a slender, beautiful woman sharing features similar to Rovan, except she was in her twenties.
A similar dragon crest etched between her eyebrows glowed faintly as she bent her knees before Aegon, "Young Master!"
"Sister Nora!" Aegon exclaimed slightly. "I didn't think Uncle would bring you this time. Also, stand up!"
"I insisted!" Nora smiled and said, straightening up. "I also brought you guests."
Finally, the last carriage entered the Sanctum once the dragon flew up. The mesmerizing winged beasts folded their backs, their hooves landing gracefully before Aegon.
They stared at Aegon for a moment before nudging closer to him affectionately. Aegon laughed, feeling their soft fur brushing against him, and patted their heads lightly.
The carriage door was opened by Theon, who came out earlier. Then a pair of fair feet stepped out, revealing two stunningly beautiful women with exquisite features.
Even though they shared a mother-daughter relationship, it was hard to tell because of their youthful appearances. They looked more like siblings rather than parent and child.
'Beautiful.'
Aegon's thoughts came to a halt at that single word. His eyes glued themselves to that familiar face. Long blonde hair tied in braids with a few bangs cascading over her beautiful face. Emerald eyes stared back at him, full of excitement and anticipation.
When their eyes met, a spark flashed in both of them, and they smiled at each other. No words were shared, yet they understood how much they missed each other.
The elegant couple of Elves walked toward him with their daughter, faces full of gentle smiles. Clearly, they were happy with his decision too.
"Welcome, Aunt! Uncle!" Aegon greeted them with a smile. "Thank you for putting up with my unreasonable request."
"We should be the ones thanking you, Little Sun," Aurelia said, keeping her warm and elegant expression. "You don't even realize how important this was for us."
"Mutual feelings here."
They all turned around, finding the Emperor coming down from his throne as he warmly welcomed them. Coming closer, he stood before them and said, "Welcome to the Great Solar Empire. You're not only Aegon's guests, but also mine, so enjoy our hospitality."
"Lord Samuel!"
All the newcomers bowed lightly toward him. It was simply a gesture to a Guardian who shouldered countless burdens for his people. Even if they weren't under him, he deserved their respect, so none hesitated to bow slightly.
Including the two Valerian Elders.
"Haha! There's no need for such formalities," Samuel laughed and said. "That goes for you too, Rovan. We are acquaintances, at least, so don't put up such a face."
"The Valerians have always respected and admired Guardianship and Loyalty above all else, so you deserve all our respect, Lord Samuel," Rovan said, shaking his head.
He paused, taking out an obsidian box and presenting it to Samuel. "You already have Skybreaker, so we brought you something for defense."
Curiosity swirled not only in Samuel's eyes but also in everyone else's. After all, this was a gift from the strongest House to one of the strongest beings on the Continent. It was bound to be special.
Samuel's attendant took the box and opened it, revealing a forearm-length jet-black dragon scale glistening under the light.
"Dragon Scale!" Samuel's voice carried his surprise.
"Dragons are sacred for us, so this is unusual, but also shows our respect for everything you've done," Nora explained. "High Elder decided this. Also, that dragon scale is quite special and can take attacks from even Rank 9 Knights easily."
Rovan glanced at Aurelia and said, "My apologies, our dear guest, but we could only harness one of these."
"You've already given us other things," Theon said, smiling at him. "Besides, we don't deserve something so precious. Only someone like Lord Samuel deserves it."
"I'll pay Mother Lovia a visit," Rovan promised.
"This is a precious gift," Samuel said honestly. "Please send my gratitude to the High Elder."
"We will."
"Since you've accepted us as your guests, it's only right that we also show our gratitude," Theon said as he presented a wooden bottle to Samuel.
Even without opening it, Samuel sensed its contents, and his eyes widened slightly. "Is this…"
"Sap of the World's Tree!" Aurelia nodded. "I hope we can improve the relationship between Elves and Humans."
"We really have the same thoughts," Samuel smiled and said.
"Oh, my apologies, Lord Rovan, but we don't have anything for you," Aurelia said, a little apologetic.
"Lia!" Xiu's stern voice cut through the atmosphere.
"Oh my! I forgot my little Xiu is also here," Aurelia chuckled, not at all concerned about her bad mood. "Also, I was just kidding. We already settled ourselves."
"I'm pretty sure Young Master already got what he wanted," Nora said, glancing at the person who made all of this happen.
Right now, the world was witnessing three major races mending their relationship. It was a major step that would reshape many current affairs, including their approach to dealing with demons.
It was ironic how such a historic event happened because two people simply wanted to meet each other. One person's desire brought three major races together.
Yet now those two people were just staring at each other, as if trying to make up for all the years they'd missed. Their eyes glued to one another, and the distance between them remained a mere meter, but anyone could see it was negligible for the two of them.
"He provided us with this opportunity," Aurelia said, smiling happily for her daughter. "Now we just need to make sure it goes well."
"Problems?" Samuel asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Most likely some oldies can't accept that they should just sleep in their graves rather than restricting the young generation so much," Xiu shrugged.
"Whatever do you mean, Xiu?" Rovan asked, suppressing his amused smile.
Xiu glanced at Samuel, making his lips twitch as she coughed, "All I want to say is this is just the start. The Elves and Humans have agreed on the surface, but there are still many things left to do."
"One just needs a push, lass," Samuel said, putting his hands behind his back. "Now that Aegon has given that push, I can confidently say I've got this."
