Aegon treasured every single one of his friends and was happy to see them always, even if they met each other daily. Their bond was truly so deep.
But Elara shared a different kind of bond with him. Perhaps it was because they spent less time with each other, or perhaps it was because Elara understood him the best even though they remained apart so much.
Whatever the reason was, Elara held a special place in his heart. That's why seeing her face after so many years made his heart flutter in happiness, so he couldn't even speak much.
He just stared at her, taking in how much she had grown over the years. Almost touching twenty in age, she had grown into a beautiful, gentle, and elegant woman with an attractive figure that couldn't be hidden behind her beautiful green dress.
Her long pointy ears wiggled as her cheeks flushed slightly, and she avoided his gaze for a while before looking back at him with a shy expression.
'Darn cute!'
The world around had already vanished for them, as they simply cared for each other's presence. Neither cared what others thought of them because their minds had completely forgotten where they currently were.
Finally, Aegon decided to break the silence, even though it was comforting in itself, "Hey, El! Been a while, huh."
"It's been a long time," Elara emphasised, as she sighed softly. "I waited for you, but you didn't even use the Crown."
'Did she just pout?' Aegon was stunned seeing that adorable look on her face. For a moment, he just stayed like that before hurriedly replying, "My first stop was Slyvanna. I'm sorry I couldn't make it earlier."
"Considering that you actually pulled this move to meet me, I'll forgive you," Elara giggled softly and said. "I'm touched."
"Glad to be at your service, my lady!" Aegon chuckled, giving a faint bow.
"You haven't changed," Elara said, smiling. "Well, aside from growing more handsome. But I already knew you'd be a lady charmer, so that's not a surprise. You look amazing."
"Really? I guess the efforts in dressing up were worth it," Aegon smiled happily. "You're also looking stunningly beautiful. Didn't think you'd use braids but they really suit you."
"I know, right? Mom was against it, but I insisted. It was worth it," Elara exclaimed, then nodded. "Still, she also told me you needed me. Is there something I can help with?"
"Oh yeah! I'll explain everything later," Aegon said, finally realising their situation, as he looked around. What he saw made his brows twitch.
Be it the Emperor, the Envoy from the Elves, the Valerian Elders, the nobles, his family, or even the students—everyone was silently watching their interactions, as if it was the most interesting thing in the entire world.
Elara's ears turned red in embarrassment, as she hurriedly jumped behind his back to hide from all gazes like a scared rabbit.
Aegon covered for her, as red crept up to his neck too. He wasn't embarrassed like Elara, but he just found her too adorable. He really wanted to pinch her cheeks and ears, but he held himself back.
He glared at the others, as he covered Elara and said, "I think we have better things to do."
"I don't think so," Aurelia waved her hand, smiling brightly.
"Indeed! Indeed!" Xiu also nodded from the sides.
"I'll handle these two hyperactive ladies," Theon said, as he dragged Aurelia back. "Please continue."
Just then, Amon landed in the centre and adjusted his monocle. His smile still creeped out many, as he said pleasantly, "As much as the world wants to see this... meet up. We need to keep our schedule, so maybe some other time."
"In ten minutes, Supremacy Games will begin," Samuel commanded.
With that, everyone dispersed to their seats while the others discussed what had just happened. There was too much information they wanted to circulate around, so it wasn't a surprise to see many gossiping everywhere.
While Theon and Rovan went to sit beside the High Dukes as they were the representatives of two major races, Xiu brought the other two ladies to sit beside Arnold.
"I feel like we can become relatives," Aurelia whispered softly. "What do you think?"
"Don't think too much, Lia," Xiu said, glancing back at Aegon. "If he decides, we'll proceed, but I don't want to force our wishes on them."
"You think I'm different?" Aurelia rolled her eyes. "Little Xiu, believe it or not, I've always given her the choice of living her life, so of course I won't meddle here. But I can see something is going on between them."
"The budding flower can take many forms," Nora said. "There are many types of relationships in this world, so let's wait and see what Young Master wants."
"Exactly!" Xiu nodded in agreement. "I like El, but I don't want them to ruin their friendship."
"Hmm! I'll still ship them silently," Aurelia pouted and looked away.
Meanwhile, a conflicting atmosphere permeated Aegon's team. While Xavier and Cali were happy with Elara's arrival, Rosa was gnashing her teeth as she glared hatefully at Elara.
"Your jealousy is overflowing," Cali said, chuckling.
"I hate her!" Rosa said, gritting her teeth. "I'll kill her!"
Xavier's smile disappeared, as he turned to look at her, his eyes cold. But Cali just glanced languidly at Rosa and said, "You're one weird piece, aren't you?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" Rosa asked.
"You said you want to kill her, but I don't sense any killing intent from you. You don't really want to kill her, do you?" Cali said, giving her a side glance. "You just loathe her for something."
"You're annoyingly perceptive for someone who can't talk properly," Rosa clicked her tongue, making Cali shrug at her. "Yes, I don't want to kill her. It's the bottom-tier thing to do. But my hate for her is real."
"As long as you don't harm her or say anything hurtful, I won't meddle in your affairs. You've accompanied Little Gon, so I'm thankful," Cali said, her hand clenching tightly. "But try anything funny and I'll smash your face with maximum boost."
Unlike what one would expect, Rosa just laughed at her words and said, "I can't harm her even if I want to. Also, this is exactly the reason why I'm jealous of her. This is why I hate her."
"So you've met before?" Xavier asked.
"Kind of," Rosa nodded and said, her gaze stuck on Elara. "I can never like her. Never in a million years."
