Aegon went over some plans once again before their match. He had played a few MOBA games in his previous life, so he knew how to plan some strategies. Well, somewhat.
But the game was inherently different, so lots of things changed. For example, their first match where they faced House Montaina, a relatively strong House of Southern origins.
They were fairly strong but... Aegon didn't really need strategy to defeat them.
Once the second game was completed, it was finally their turn. All of them were battle-ready and got into position, which was to just stand silently in their rooms.
Aegon closed his eyes, feeling the surroundings change around him. As a usual visitor of the Void Chamber, this was nothing for him.
Enduring everything calmly, he finally felt space stabilizing around him and opened his eyes.
'What was that?'
For a moment, a sense of touch on his soul sea registered in his mind. It was only for a second, but he noticed it.
'Weird! So this game really sends souls alone?'
He couldn't feel the difference physically, but the sensation was there. This theory had been circulated around without any proof, so now he inclined to believe it.
Shifting it aside, Aegon focused on his current situation as he took a deep breath, intaking the odorless humid air. The sight before him was just as he expected.
Almost five metres tall and ten metres wide, a white dome stood before him, looking similar to an igloo. Atop it, a majestic statue of an Eight-Winged Dragon rested, roaring to the heavens.
Surrounding it were the walls made of seasoned stones, stretching endlessly under the white cloudy sky. Along the walls, Aegon could see the turrets ready to defend his base... his domain.
'Domain, huh. Are these related or it's just the name?'
He had a feeling they were related. Perhaps, this was an early stage of a Domain.
'What if that Domain Fragment is as powerful as these two domains? It'll be too broken.'
The Supremacy Games were a mystery even to the strongest beings of this continent, so Aegon was sure real Domains existed far above them.
"Woah! It really feels real!" Xavier exclaimed, checking his body. "How does it even work?"
"Hard to tell!" Aegon replied. "Also, you all feeling this weakness?"
"Yes, it's like someone has snatched a piece of me," Elara responded with a frown. "Terrible feeling."
"Yup. This Rune Formation is really interesting," Aegon said, rubbing his chin. "All of my abilities have been nerfed except for Rune Mastery. It knows what to target, so it targeted all of our physical strength except Xav."
"Oh yeah, I only feel weak magic-wise. My physical strength is same as before," Xavier clenched his fists and nodded.
"I'm even more curious about it now. In any case," Aegon said, glancing at the distant dark sky of the Ash Domain. "We need to dominate this match."
"Oh, for sure. Their Healer is my target," Xavier muttered, venom dripping from his tone. "He's one of them."
"Ho? Doesn't this make it even more interesting?" Aegon chuckled and said. "How about it, Cali? All of them are Rank 4, except for their Fighter. Make sure he doesn't get close to their Healer."
Cali donned her helmet, grinning underneath, "Easy peasy!"
"Let's slam them!!!" Rosa shouted in excitement.
"Yes!" Aegon smiled, slipping black gloves onto his hands. "Let's smash them!"
Thirty seconds were given to everyone to sort themselves out, in which they couldn't leave the base. So, they awaited the barrier's disappearance.
The moment the veil dropped, a monotonous voice sounded like heaven's mandate.
[Start]
No more words were needed.
All of them kicked off against the hard floor, dashing forward with all their might. Sadly, they were still weakened, so their speed was far from their prime.
'Weird. We adapted to our change of stats so easily. This game is really strange.'
Aegon swiftly passed through the turrets, reaching the centre of the map where a shallow stream flowed from left to right. Minions would be dispatched a few seconds after the barrier dropped, but he arrived early.
"Well, I'm early!" Aegon said, as he couldn't see the Ash Domain's mid-laner. But then again, he couldn't see far because of the game's restrictions.
[Cali: I'm on spot too… and here he comes!]
Aegon smiled, 'Having a chat group is fun.'
The game allowed one to talk to their teammates even if they were far away from each other. It wouldn't be broadcast to the outside world unless they willed to communicate with enemies.
In the next second, he received reports from the other three too.
[Rosa: Let me farm first.]
[Elara: My Moonlight Arrows are ready too.]
[Xavier: Let's beat their asses!!]
"And mine is also here!" Aegon muttered, standing on his side. There were bushes on both sides of the stream and hiding there would conceal him, but he didn't care.
The mage turned out to be a young woman, who had a fearful look on her face for some reason. Aegon got confused, as he watched her slowly come towards him.
She stepped out of the Turret's range, though only slightly, as she sent a giant fireball hurling towards him.
'Ah! So that's why!'
He finally understood why she was so scared. She was a Fire Mage, completely useless against him. The most she could do was affect his surroundings to restrict his movements.
"Well, now that's a bad matchup. My bad!" Aegon shook his head as he easily cut the fireball in half with his finger, making the girl gasp in shock as she hurriedly moved back to the turret.
By then, the minions of both teams had reached the centre. A total of three. Two of them were small figures clad in armour, carrying spears as they charged fearlessly, while the other one sat on a moving tank which fired energy balls.
Aegon destroyed the minions in no time, as the girl just watched from distance, too afraid to even step out. Once he was done with the minions, he let his Snow Domain's minions enter the turret range as they attacked the turret, bringing its health bar down.
"Blame your leader for recruiting such healers," Aegon muttered, jumping inside the turret range.
Before the girl could make sense of the situation, he approached her and sent a straight punch to her belly, shattering everything inside in an instant.
The mage's eyes widened in shock. A black bar similar to a hologram above her emptied in an instant as she turned into particles and whisked back to the base.
[First Kill goes to Snow Domain!]
'Crap!'
Aegon didn't even linger for a second longer after killing the mage and left the turret's range. Sadly, it was still enough for the turret to attack him once.
A huge chunk of his blue bar emptied, as he felt a slight headache where the attack had landed. He couldn't avoid it. No one could.
It was an ironclad rule.
[Cali: I won't be behind!]
In the next second, their team's score went up by one.
Aegon shook his head helplessly as he dashed towards the gold lane.
'A decent plan.'
Mages didn't have good physical strength or durability, so Aegon could easily kill them. But they could still defend themselves using shields and many other spells. Sadly, the mage girl was caught off-guard.
She thought that Aegon wouldn't attack her while she was inside the turret's range. After all, the turret usually focused on the minions, but if their domain's members were harmed, they would attack the enemies.
But it was a fair trade for Aegon. After all, he only lost twenty percent of his health while the mage girl died. Now, it would take some time before she could return. Time he could use for other things.
In no time, he was near the gold lane and could finally see the situation over there. The Ash Domain healer and marksman both were inside the turret's range, as they attacked Elara from there while also destroying the minions.
"Xav! Be ready to heal me!" Aegon commanded.
[Xavier: Got it!]
He agreed without any questions. He trusted Aegon enough for that.
Aegon smiled, changing direction as he entered the Ash Domain and instantly felt something in the atmosphere suppressing him.
But he didn't stop.
Circling around the boulder, he got into the small space between the second and third turret. From there, he could see the marksman and healer properly as they had their backs turned.
'Wait! I got the option to level up!' Aegon paused, instantly willing to level.
He felt as if some invisible chains had been lifted off his body. He smiled and raised his hand, "Nemure!"
A small magic circle formed on his palm, as the marksman suddenly froze, his body stiffening as if deathly cold had invaded him. His eyes closed, as if he was slipping into a deep sleep.
The healer noticed the situation quickly and, without a second delay, tried to get him out of the CC effect.
"Too late!" Aegon muttered under his breath. "Mad Charge!"
And then, he dived into the turret's range once again.
