Chapter 177: House Chen

When the Host announced the Top Four, Aegon was surprised to hear his House's name. His eyes widened, as he turned towards Rosa. His friends did the same.

Rosa shifted in her seat and smiled sweetly, "Do you like it?"

"I certainly do. But why?" Aegon answered, still bewildered at the surprise.

"Well, my future hubby carries two major Bloodlines and the world knows of them too. Your name carries them, as they represent you greatly," Rosa explained, her voice carrying a soft tone. "But who shaped you the most? Who influenced you the most?"

She smiled and turned towards the screen, "I thought long for our House's name, then decided on this. The woman who played the biggest role in your life doesn't have any representation. I don't like it."

Aegon's eyes shook, his heart missing a beat for a second, as emotions surged through his eyes. He couldn't even make out what he felt at the moment, but he knew he appreciated what Rosa did.

Xiu was the most important person in his life, but it never occurred to him how he didn't have a representation of her in his being.

His grandmother gave him the name Valeria and he cherished it for her love and sacrifice for him. The woman who gladly gave her life to save his life.

Meanwhile, Augustus was his entire identity. His role model, the one he looked up to the most, the man who gave up everything he cherished for him, carried the same blood.

Yet above all of them was Xiu, the woman who sacrificed her future, stayed away from everything she cherished and loved, changed herself so she could raise him properly.

Aegon knew he wasn't an easy child to raise, even if he tried to make things easy for them. But that woman never complained once, always smiling warmly at him and making him what he was today.

Yet, Aegon held no representations of her in his being. People recognised him as Valeria and Augustus or even from his mother's side, but Xiu — who played the biggest role in his life — was unrepresented.

'How did I miss something so important?'

He knew Xiu wouldn't think much of this. For her, only his happiness mattered. Other things could go to hell for all she cared.

But he cared about this. Xiu didn't find anyone as her life partner because she wanted to raise him. And even now she didn't seem to want it, so her inheritance would get lost after her.

'No! I won't let that happen.'

Aegon took a deep breath and turned towards Rosa, "Thank you, Rosa. This means so much to me that I can't put it in words."

"I know!" Rosa giggled. "You're my future Hubby, so how can I not know you? I did this for you, so just enjoy my gift."

"I guess we have more reasons to win these games now," Cali said, flipping her hair back. "Can't let the name of Xiu be on any other place."

"True. Aunt Xiu only deserves the top spot." Xavier laughed and said. "Let's crush them all."

"I'm sure she'll be happy seeing this," Elara said, faintly. "Hate to admit it, but you did good this time."

"Some things don't change no matter the situation, my dear Elara!" Rosa shrugged in response. "Remember when Mother dearest said that Love is consistent. I guess I understand it better now."

"I took too long to understand it too," Elara sighed and turned towards the screen. "So, who will we face next?"

"Probably House Ares?" Aegon said, giving a second thought to their conversation before replying. "Let's see."

Soon, the Host announced the Semi-finals which excited the audience to no end. After all, these matches were between the best of the best.

House Imperial Vs House Ares.

House Chen Vs House Freyja.

"I guess we're skipping this then," Aegon mumbled to himself, as he made himself comfortable on the chair. "But the next match is pretty interesting."

"Yes, it'll be fun to see how the Prince gets through their schemes." Xavier agreed.

Before long, the Host announced House Freyja's decision sadly. While many were disappointed, they also understood House Freyja.

Everyone had seen their matches, so they knew House Freyja stood no chance against House Chen. It was better to forfeit in their eyes.

Of course, the Empire still cursed them for being cowards as all they cared about was being entertained.

Just as the Host was about to announce the break, Aegon frowned as he said, "What is he doing there?"

"Uh? Who?" Xavier asked in confusion.

"The Prince." Aegon answered solemnly, having a bad feeling about this.

Soon, Raphael's figure entered the screen, as he greeted her. The Host asked him why he came before everyone since this was his break time.

Raphael smiled gently and said, "I always followed the principle that unless there is need for a fight, we shouldn't fight amongst each other."

"What do you mean? This is Supremacy Games so of course you need to fight, unless you want to get eliminated," the Host insisted, smiling as she got some entertainment to feed the audience.

"Indeed. I have a goal to achieve. I want to win the Supremacy Games and show the world that the Imperial Family is still strong and we will shield humanity and even take back our lands," Raphael declared in a solemn voice.

His smile soon returned, as he continued after a slight pause.

"I fought previous rounds because it was inevitable. I had to defeat them to achieve my honorable goal. But it's not needed in this round."

His smile widened, as he gave a look to the Host and said.

"For this, I'll need to explain to the whole Empire about how the Academy works."

The Host smiled gleefully and said, "Since it's our break anyway, so we can entertain our audience in this way too. So please, Your Highness, do as you wish."

"I appreciate it."

Raphael then went on to explain how the Academy worked, focusing mainly on how they simulated reality and how there were students personating as Demons.

At the end, his gentle smile turned a bit wicked as he added.

"I have proof that two members from House Ares are demons. As such, they should be expelled and fail to fulfill the criteria of entering the Supremacy Games."
