Chapter 178: Raphael's Accusations

The Eternal Sanctum buzzed with noise on Raphael's declaration. Excitement and anticipation filled the air, as no one expected such a development.

Even the people watching across the Empire became interested in this. It was the first time they learned of this tradition, so they were also very curious.

As the nobles discussed the turn of events, many eyes also fell on the Dean. They wondered if this was allowed or not. After all, the Supremacy Games would be interrupted and might not even be completed this way.

Rising from his seat, Amon announced, "The rules dictate that the Supreme Trial can be held at any moment as long as both participants are part of the Academy. So, naturally this is a valid request."

He waved his hand towards Raphael and said, "Present your evidence. Call the House Ares."

Soon, House Ares walked out of their room, their faces full of grimace and anger. Hateful gazes landed on Raphael, but he just smiled as if it had nothing to do with him.

The Sanctum turned silent, as they watched everything with interest.

Amon landed between the two parties and said, "I will be the judge."

"Presenting evidence and arguing over it will take too much of our time," Raphael said, when Amon turned towards him. "So, I will let the Supreme Artefact decide the outcome."

House Ares's leader's face paled at the proclamation. He planned to get out of this using argument for the evidence, but if the Supreme Artefact came into play then everything was lost.

Sadly, he could do nothing but watch. Even his teammates just clenched their hands, silent.

Amon raised an eyebrow, before adjusting his monocle and said, "Very well, then. Both parties already know the price for the Supreme Artefact."

As they both nodded at his words, Amon took out a three-layered metal piece. A hole in the centre, the black metal box seemed hollow.

With that, Amon asked, "Who have you accused?"

Raphael put his hands behind his back, golden armour shimmering on his body, and said, "The Mage and the Archer."

House Ares held some hope that Raphael might be bluffing but when they heard his words, they resigned to their fate. Defeated looks appeared on their faces, as both the Mage and Archer took out their identity stones.

With shaking hands, they gave their identity stones to Amon, eyes filled with indescribable sadness. Still, they did raise their heads and looked at Raphael, burning his features in their memories.

If they had lost fair and square on the battlefield, they wouldn't have minded it. But this was a humiliation before the whole Empire.

They could not forget it, even if the other side was a Prince.

There were more Princes and Princesses in the Empire, after all. Surely their talent would be recognised and they could use it there for their goals.

Raphael sighed, sensing their gazes. He could understand them and also understood that he was pushing potential talent to his competition, but this had to be done.

He shifted towards Amon, who pushed the Mage's identity stone inside the hollow space. Soon, the result came before the world.

"She really was a Demon."

"Damn! Do demons really hide so deeply amongst ourselves that we don't even realise?"

"You're a newbie so you might not realise, but yes this is the case. They'll hide for years, behaving and living as a human. Sometimes even for decades. All for the sake of one order from their leader to bring doom upon our race."

"Unbelievable! I'll be more careful."

"Hmph! Young blood! You all didn't even notice the most important thing His Highness wanted to show."

"Lord Osmont! Whatever do you mean?"

"Have you not noticed House Ares's members' faces? They knew about this all this while but didn't say anything. His Highness wants to show how there might be people who know about demons and still keep silent. The traitors of humanity."

"Woah! I didn't even realise it. Damn it!"

Raphael's smile widened hearing the murmurs around him, as he shifted his gaze towards his grandfather. Sadly, he failed to see anything on his face or eyes.

'What else would it take you to realise my worth?' he wondered, then looked away, knowing Samuel's terrifying power very well.

Soon, Amon checked the other identity stone too which gave the same results. Shaking his head, he said, "The results are positive. Amanda and Sheldon are hereby expelled from the Academy. Before that, they will bear the cost of using the Supreme Artefact alongside House Ares."

Raphael didn't seem surprised at the outcome, as he asked, "Then, does that mean House Ares can't continue with the Supremacy Games?"

"They certainly can if they want to," Amon shrugged, turning towards their leader. "Are you continuing?"

The leader gritted his teeth and replied in suppressed anger, "No, House Ares will forfeit."

...

"This son of the bitch!" Cali cursed out loud. "He played an underhanded trick."

"No, he did quite well to present himself to the world. He wants the world to remember this Supremacy Games and then associate it with him." Aegon shook his head and said.

"Still, he's quite vicious," Elara commented from his side. "Evidence alone would be enough to expel them, but he used the Supreme Artefact. Now they'll have to suffer."

Rosa clicked her tongue and added, "He speaks as if he's some benevolent guy but does this. Pathetic!"

"I think you're misunderstanding," Aegon said, scratching his chin. "He did that because that's the only thing he can do. He doesn't have any evidence."

"Huh?"

"Think about it, if we can see this point then so can others. He's not idiotic enough to do this, so the only explanation is that he had no other choice." Aegon leaned back and said.

"But he was confident in his accusations, meaning he was sure they were the demons," Elara said thoughtfully. "Then, it means...."

"Access to information of students," Xavier completed her sentence. "But how is this possible?"

"Academy is based on real life and here, Imperial Family holds the power," Aegon said, frowning. "He likely knows everyone who is demon, but only used it now."

"Wait! Wait! Isn't this a problem for us?" Cali exclaimed, jumping up from her seat.

Just then, they heard Raphael's voice from the screen.

"Sir Amon, I would also like to give information on another demon. His name is Aegon Valeria Augustus."
